"Rangel's Rule" Legislation Would Eliminate Late Fees On Past Due Taxes. Hey Us Little People Can Dream Can't We?!
Rep. Carter introduced a bill Wednesday to eliminate all IRS penalties and interest for paying taxes past due.
The legislation calls for the creation of what he calls the, “Rangel Rule,” — drawing attention to the recent legal issues of House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., enabling citizens who fail to pay taxes on time to do so later with no additional fees.

Every year since 1995Arizona Congressman John Shadegg has introduced the “Enumerated Powers Act” legislation and every year his fellow Congressional members bury it in a pile of nay votes. Why does this bill go down in a ball of flames session after session? Why would the people we send to Washington DC to do our bidding within the confines and constrictions of our founding document think it would be unnecessary to make sure everything they do complies with what is laid out in the Constitution?

The Alaska State Officers Compensation Commission has recommended raises for many state office holders including Governor Sarah Palin. Palin spokesman Bill McAllister said Wednesday that if the Legislature submits legislation for a raise, Palin will not accept the money. Everyone in government takes an oath to uphold the Constitution, but few do so. Beginning with John Adams, and proceeding to Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, and George W. Bush, congress has enacted and the President has signed laws that have criminalized political speech, suspended Habeas Corpus, compelled support for war, forbade the freedom of contract, allowed the government to spy on Americans without a search warrant, and use tax payer dollars to shore up failing private banks.
