Obamadrama

Don’t be deceived by the honeyed baritone voice and big smile. Bluffs, bully plays, and head fakes are the means by which President Obama tries to get his way. He learned the technique from Saul Alinsky. The best answer is to use Alinsky against them. We know their rule book, and we can use their rules just as well as they can. The aggressor sets the rules. Obama constantly uses Alinsky’s principle of head-faking: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” For Obama, “the enemy” is us, the American people. We have to understand — that’s the way they use the language. Read Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals if you don’t believe it. We are the enemy. [A most excellent Americanthinker.com post of the day…ed]

FACT CHECK: Health insurer profits not so fat

Quick quiz: What do these enterprises have in common? Farm and construction machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands and Yahoo? Answer: They’re all more profitable than the health insurance industry. In the health care debate, Democrats and their allies have gone after insurance companies as rapacious profiteers making “immoral” and “obscene” returns while “the bodies pile up.” Ledgers tell a different reality. Health insurance profit margins typically run about 6 percent, give or take a point or two. That’s anemic compared with other forms of insurance and a broad array of industries, even some beleaguered ones. Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure. This partly explains why the credit ratings of some of the largest insurers were downgraded to negative from stable heading into this year, as investors were warned of a stagnant if not shrinking market for private plans. [Rule number 12 from Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals, “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” When it comes to the liberals facts mean nothing, it’s all about hammering the false message home until the braindead among us begin to believe the lies…ed]

H1N1 vaccine in short supply

As President Barack Obama declared swine flu a national emergency Saturday, thousands of Chicagoans waited in line for hours for the vaccine and many others were turned away after the city’s limited supply ran out. The scene at Chicago’s first day of public clinics mirrors the situation playing out across the country as Americans scramble to find H1N1 vaccine. It’s in short supply and largely unavailable at most doctors’ offices, health departments and other medical facilities. [While America is running short on these vaccinations for those who want it the Obama administration is GIVING AWAY the swine flu jab to OTHER COUNTRIES!…ed]

First Daughters Not Vaccinated Against H1N1

President Obama’s school age daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk. The Centers for Disease Control recommend that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a vaccination against the H1N1 flu virus. At this time only children with chronic medical conditions are receiving the vaccination because their immune system is not strong enough to fight off the strain. The CDC also says a regular seasonal flu shot does not protect against the virus. [Interesting that Mr. and Mrs. Michelle Obama have made sure THEIR kids DIDN’T get this particular vaccine even though he has declared the swine flu a national emergency and is encouraging everyone else to get the jab. Hmmmmm….ed]

Doctors May ‘Fire’ Parents Who Don’t Vaccinate Children

When Cathlene Echan walked into her pediatrician’s office two weeks after giving birth, she was nervous about discussing her recent decision not to vaccinate her second baby. But Echan, of Orange County, Calif., did not expect to be asked to leave. “The doctor said it was too much of a liability to have us as patients,” said Echan, a 28-year-old stay at home mom. Echan’s oldest child, Josiah, now 5, had just been diagnosed with autism around the same time her second son Torren, now 2, was born. [Uh-oh. I wonder if anyone has informed Mr. and Mrs. Michelle Obama about this?…ed]

Harry Reid’s Train Wreck

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive,” wrote Sir Walter Scott in his 1808 poem, “Marmion.” I doubt Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has read “Marmion.” But he now has a pretty good idea of what Sir Walter Scott meant. Democrats have been tying themselves into knots in their efforts to conceal from the public the true cost of Obamacare. Last Wednesday, their schemes came crashing down around Harry Reid’s ears. (SNIP) Mr. Baucus achieved his apparent savings partly by omitting the “public option” dear to liberal hearts, partly by not covering all of the currently uninsured. But he achieved them mostly by front-loading tax increases and cuts in Medicare and Medicaid, but delaying most spending increases for two and a half years. Once the spending increases went into effect, they rapidly would overwhelm the “savings.” By the 11th year, the Baucus bill would add massively to the deficit. [The American public has awoken from their Obamamania hangover and the Democrat shenanigans are now being exposed almost as quickly as they try to pull them…ed]

George Will Accuses Media of Manufacturing Return of Public Option

George Will on Sunday accused the media of manufacturing the return of government mandated healthcare to the current reform debate. Discussing the subject on the recent installment of ABC’s “This Week,” Will said it was highly unlikely Democrats actually have the votes for what they call a “public option,” but the media are assisting them in “cleverly and skillfully manufacturing a sense of inevitability that they hope will be self-fulfilling.” In effect, although it is quite doubtful the votes are currently there for any form of government run healthcare, the press are doing their darnedest to change that. [But Obama and his administration keep trotting themselves out in front of TV cameras declaring Fox NEWS is partisan, has an agenda and doesn’t tell the American public the truth…ed]

Obama Taxes Pacemakers, Heart Valves

The more fiscal details of the health care bills emerge, the more appalling they seem. The Senate Finance Committee bill includes a broad provision taxing all manner of medical devices. This tax includes such frivolous luxuries as pacemakers, stents, artificial heart valves, defibrillators, automated wheelchairs, mechanized artificial limbs, replacement hips and knees, surgical gurneys, laparoscopic equipment and the like. President Obama is planning to reduce the cost of medical care by taxing it! The most recent Gallup Poll reflected that 49 percent of respondents said they believed that the Obamacare plan will increase their health care costs. Only about 20 percent said it would lower them. It is taxes like these that substantiate this kind of concern. [This little revelation should make our seasoned citizens, the most prolific voting bloc in the country, very happy…ed]

Anti-incumbent wave pounds city halls

A series of upsets and close calls in big-city elections is producing the first group of politicians to fall victim to voters’ economic frustrations: America’s mayors. While political observers are focused on the outcome of the Nov. 3 gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey for early insights into the 2010 midterms, it’s in City Hall where the most ominous trend is emerging. Some incumbent mayors have already lost their races. Others have held on to win—or are likely to win next week—with greatly diminished margins from their previous re-election bids. Either way, local incumbents are bleeding badly after being buffeted by the pressures of high unemployment, low tax revenues and a volatile, impatient electorate. Fox News Exec On Attempted Feinberg Interview Snub: We Requested Feinberg Interview, Gibbs Acknowledged Mistake

A Fox News executive told the Huffington Post Saturday that the network “absolutely” did request an interview with Obama administration “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg and that the White House acknowledged a mistake on the part of a Treasury department staffer in failing to initially include Fox News in the round of interviews Feinberg conducted Thursday. “Of course we requested an interview,” Fox News Senior Vice President Michael Clemente told the Huffington Post. This directly contradicts reports by the Associated Press and Talking Points Memo, both of which reported that the White House had excluded Fox News because it did not request an interview. [The Obama administration lies about trying to prevent Fox News from interviewing the “pay czar” then blames the fiasco on some unnamed low level staffer instead of manning up and facing the firestorm of criticism like adults…ed]

Threats mount against Obama, other officials

A congressional report shows the Secret Service is investigating more threats against government officials, including President Barack Obama, than ever before, according to The Boston Globe. On Monday, Obama will meet with troops at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. He will then attend a fundraiser in the Miami area. On Tuesday, Obama will travel to Arcadia to tour the DeSoto Next General Solar Energy Center and give a speech. Security for the president during his Florida visit will be tight, as always, Secret Service spokesman Malcolm Wiley said. [The article’s author made the headline and first paragraph appear as though Obama has been besieged with threats with the inference that conservatives are behind them but if you read down a bit you will see this quote from the Secret Service spokesman, “”The amount of threats we’ve received is consistent with past presidents” George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, Wiley said. “There is no difference.” This is why you can’t trust the state run media in this country…ed]

Experts see rebounding economy shedding jobs

Forget a jobless recovery. The economy may be entering a recovery with job losses. Third-quarter estimates this week are expected to show that the economy grew for the first time since the quarter ending in June 2008. Despite the estimated 3 percent expansion and a stock market that has been on a tear since March, hundreds of thousands of people are still being laid off each month. Eight million jobs have been lost nationwide since the recession began two years ago, and by some measures workers face the worst job market since the Depression. The average laid-off worker has been without a job for 61/2 months, a post-World War II record. Many of those workers will never recover financially. [This carefully laid plan by the George Soros leftists was intended to cripple our economy and bring this country to it’s financial knees in the name of “saving the planet” and paying us back for having lived such a cushy comfortable life at the expense of the poor and downtrodden around the globe. The selection of the anti America, anti US Constitution Barack Obama to assist with this evil plot was crucial and until we neuter this guy by bouncing as many Democrats out of Congress in 2010 the program will continue forward at breakneck speed…ed]

Things to watch for during a “Declared National Emergency”

As I predicted—though I was unsure whether it would be the H1N1 virus or the collapse of the dollar—the Communist Puppet would use something to cement his total control over every aspect of our lives. From the day he took office, Obama and his puppet masters have been building a shadow Government with all power vested in them. The Czars he has appointed, who were not vetted and approved by Congress nor elected, now have the authority to control every aspect of American commerce. I challenge you to look at the Executive Orders that have been signed over the last 30 years and are still in place. Also carefully read the provisions of the Violent Crime Control Act. They are listed here America In Peril and I include a partial list below. You will see that with the Executive Orders already in place, combined with the provisions of the Violent Crime Control Act, with the stroke of a pen Obama can suspend the Constitution, the Judiciary, Elections and in effect declare himself president for life. The next step In the wannabe dictators plan is to declare Martial Law, confiscate all privately owned firearms, round up all dissenters and move them to detention centers. Also there will be detention centers for those who have the H1N1 virus. [It’s far better to anticipate these scenarios coming true and be glad if they don’t than to sit around thinking what Obama and his gang want you to think, that this could never happen in America. Well all kinds of crap has happened in the last nine months that we NEVER thought could happen in our country now hasn’t it?…ed]

The Bachmann burr

When Marcus Bachmann came home that Saturday evening in 2000, he checked the telephone answering machine and was mystified by the many messages congratulating his wife for something. “Michele,” he said, “do you have something to tell me?” She did. The state senator from her district in suburban Minneapolis-St. Paul had been in office for 17 years, had stopped being pro-life and started supporting tax increases, so that morning Michele Bachmann had skipped washing her hair, put on jeans and a tattered sweatshirt and went to the local Republican nominating caucus to ask the incumbent a few pointed questions. Industry Groups Decry Obama Administration ‘Name-Calling’ Campaign

President Obama is not living up to his pledge to hold an open debate over health care reform and is engaged in a “public relations campaign” to penalize critics, representatives from two industry groups in the administration’s cross hairs said Sunday. U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President Bruce Josten and America’s Health Insurance Plans Vice President Mike Tuffin told “Fox News Sunday” that they will continue to raise questions about the health care reforms plans working their way through Congress. But they decried the “name-calling” they said was coming out of the White House. “There shouldn’t be a penalty for speaking out and introducing data into the public domain,” Tuffin said. “There’s been a political, public relations campaign run against people who put data out that says specific provisions are going to increase cost.” [Great to hear these men are ready willing and able to fight back against the Obama administration smear machine…ed]

Afghan protest over ‘burnt Koran’

There have been protests in the Afghan capital, Kabul, over allegations that foreign troops in the country burnt a copy of the Koran. Hundreds of Kabul University students led the latest protest, burning an effigy of US President Barack Obama. The US-led Nato force has denied the claims, saying it has investigated the incident in Wardak province and found the allegations to be groundless. The local authorities there have so far supported Nato. They say they did find evidence that a Koran had been burnt, but blamed drug addicts and said the Taliban may be spreading rumours that foreign troops were responsible to provoke anti-American unrest. [WHOA! An effigy of Barack Obama was burned into a crispy critter by a bunch of pissed off muslims? Wow, I wonder how long it will take for the left wing media in America to report this news?…ed]

Politically correct counter-terrorism

Do counter-terrorism measures targeting bombers who dress as women offend the rights of transexuals? This is one of the pressing questions addressed in a new United Nations report on “Protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism.” The 23-page document is the ultimate politically correct guide to combating terrorism. It is based on the work of U.N. special rapporteur Martin Scheinin, who notes that “immigration controls that focus attention on male bombers who may be dressing as females to avoid scrutiny make transgender persons susceptible to increased harassment and suspicion.” The impact on transvestites (cross-dressers) and “intersex” individuals (those in the midst of a sex change) is even more dramatic. ABC’s Griese apologizes for Montoya ‘taco’ remark

ABC college football analyst Bob Griese apologized Saturday a comment he made about NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya during the network’s broadcast of Ohio State’s 38-7 victory over Minnesota. (SNIP) Fellow broadcaster Chris Speilman asked where Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya was (Montoya dropped from the top five after finishing 35th last week at Charlotte). Griese replied, “He’s out having a taco.” [What if the guy really WAS out having a taco (man I love a well made taco!) would Griese still feel the need to apologize?…ed]

Abortion Kills More Black Americans Than the Seven Leading Causes of Death Combined, Says CDC Data

Abortion kills more black Americans than the seven leading causes of death combined, according to data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for 2005, the latest year for which the abortion numbers are available. Abortion killed at least 203,991 blacks in the 36 states and two cities (New York City and the District of Columbia) that reported abortions by race in 2005, according to the CDC. During that same year, according to the CDC, a total of 198,385 blacks nationwide died from heart disease, cancer, strokes, accidents, diabetes, homicide, and chronic lower respiratory diseases combined. These were the seven leading causes of death for black Americans that year. [This makes me wonder why black folks continue to overwhelmingly support the pro abortion Democrat Party? Unless they’re happy about killing off hundreds of thousands of their own race before they even have a chance to make a go of it…ed]

Insider reveals secrets of North America plot

The integration of the United States with Canada and Mexico, long deemed by many as little more than a fanciful “conspiracy theory,” was actually an idea promoted by the Council on Foreign Relations and sold to President Bush as a means of increasing commerce and business interests throughout North America, according to a top Canadian businessman. Thomas d’Aquino, CEO and president of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives – the Canadian counterpart to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – confirmed in an interview recently published in Canada the accuracy of what WND first reported over three years ago: namely, that the Council on Foreign Relations was the prime mover in establishing the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP. Published by the Metropolitan Corporate Counsel Oct. 4, the d’Aquino interview verifies that the creation of the SPP was not a “conspiracy theory” but a well-thought-out North American integration plan launched by his organization, the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, along with the Council on Foreign Relations in the United States. Quote of the day.

Under our proposal, the word marriage would no longer appear in any laws, and marriage licenses would no longer be offered or recognized by any level of government. Governments would not be asked to endorse any particular relationships by conferring on them the term marriage.
