Obama made quite the impression over there in Europe. Telegraph.co.uk writer declares Obama the new surrender monkey on the block. No racial implications implied nor taken sir.

President Barack Obama has recently completed the most successful foreign policy tour since Napoleon’s retreat from Moscow. You name it, he blew it. What was his big deal economic programme that he was determined to drive through the G20 summit? Another massive stimulus package, globally funded and co-ordinated. Did he achieve it? Not so as you’d notice.

The Vermont legislature passes a resolution, “Hey you Somalis, let our state resident go! NOW!” I don’t think they are messin’ around either you pirate thugs!

The Vermont House is demanding the immediate release of Captain Richard Phillips, of Underhill, Vt. The 53-year-old sea captain has been held hostage by Somali pirates since his ship, the Maersk Alabama, was hijacked Wednesday.

Dog-crazy Americans will soon be able to buy a pet-friendly car with a cushioned dog bed in the trunk, fitted with a built-in water bowl and fan and a ramp to help less agile dogs climb in.

This is another reason why you don’t elect presidents that you know nothing about. Obama administration contemplating altering the world’s climate by launching pollution into the upper atmosphere to reflect sun’s rays. Honest, I’m not making this one up.

The president’s new science adviser said Wednesday that global warming is so dire, the Obama administration is discussing radical technologies to cool Earth’s air. John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month that the idea of geoengineering the climate is being discussed. One such extreme option includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun’s rays. Holdren said such an experimental measure would only be used as a last resort. “It’s got to be looked at,” he said. “We don’t have the luxury of taking any approach off the table.”

Woman leaps over over mall railing in 60 foot suicide plunge, smashes into teenager sitting in chair.

A distraught woman jumped 60 feet to her death at the crowded Queens Center Mall Wednesday, landing on a teenager relaxing in a massage chair. Mary Lovelace, 55, of Jamaica, Queens, took off her shoes and put her purse on a bench before climbing over a waist-high barrier at around 3 p.m. and plunging to the ground as scores of stunned shoppers watched.

Auto sales strong, Hummers very popular here!

Business, not bombs, is booming at Baghdad car dealerships, as well-heeled Iraqis are indulging in a passion long out of reach—spiffy, new cars. BMWs, Nissans, Hyundais and even military-style Hummers are now weaving around the shabby, smoke-belching wrecks and donkey carts that have clogged the streets over two decades of sanctions and war. That may make Baghdad one of the few cities worldwide where the auto industry is doing relatively well—at least compared to the worst of the war, when sales were stagnant. With its limited banking system, Iraq has largely avoided the global financial meltdown. And unlike elsewhere in the world, gas prices—about $1.52 a gallon—aren’t much of a deterrent to those Iraqis eager and able to catch up with the good life behind the wheel of a new car.

Another uber lefty and phony environmentalist exposed. Al Gore has nothing over this clown.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants wind-powered city buildings and a green Empire State Building, but admitted Thursday that the only way he saves energy at his private homes is by using efficient light bulbs. The billionaire mayor, who owns homes in upstate New York, Colorado, Florida, Bermuda and London in addition to his townhouse on the Upper East Side, said he also turns off lights that aren’t being used and likes to open the windows when it is warm instead of running the air conditioner. “I’m sure we use a lot of energy, but we’re trying to make it as little as possible,” said Bloomberg, who sought to cast himself as a national environmental leader when he was testing his appeal as an independent presidential candidate for 2008.

You have to love this one. Chinese fella, 91, found his niche over 60 years ago, still plugging along.

A 91-year-old Chinese tailor is determined to continue making customized bras for his clients despite his advanced age and outdated designs. “My sons and my daughter-in-law all tell me to stop working,” said Ran Yusheng at his stall in the southwestern city of Chengdu. “But my customers say if I stop, where will they be able to buy such bras? They wouldn’t buy those bras from other stores.”

Marine Sergeant found not guilty of Iraqi’s murder.

U.S. Marine Sgt. Ryan Weemer was acquitted by a military jury Thursday of murdering an unarmed Iraqi insurgent during fierce fighting in the city of Fallujah in 2004. “It’s been a long, hard year,” Weemer said following the verdict. “It was rough over there. Dealing with that is a lifelong process, I believe, and being questioned about it is really hard. It brings stuff back up.” Weemer, 26, said the jury of eight officers, all of whom had combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan, made the right decision, and he maintained he never committed a crime. “I was justified in what I did over there,” the Illinois native said.

(these young men are put in the most stressful of situations, house to house combat where it is impossible to discern non combatant from armed fighter, yet expect them to be able to make split second decisions and make the perfect one every time under threat of prosecution. I wonder how many of these brave kids lost their lives or were gravely wounded because of one of these split second indecisions?….ed)

An Islamic woman who was arrested for killing a child feels “insulted” because she was forced to take off her hijab, or headscarf, for booking photo. Husband says the cops are in “big trouble.”

The police booking photo of alleged child killer Nour Hadid released Tuesday is an “insult against our religion,” says Hadid’s husband, Alaeddin. Orland Park police detectives say the 26-year-old Muslim woman was treated as any other suspect in a murder probe would be, and they did not intend to humiliate her when they photographed her Sunday without her headscarf and wearing only a skimpy top. (snip) “It is against our religion; we do not do this in our culture,” Alaeddin said.

(welcome to OUR culture when you have been arrested for a crime….ed)
