Activist Group Puts Bounty on Head of Chamber of Commerce CEO

Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue is a wanted man — at least according to the liberal activist group that’s put a de facto bounty on his head. A network of liberal groups known as Velvet Revolution started an ad campaign offering $200,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man whose trade organization has become a thorn in the side of the Obama administration and congressional Democrats. The group is not leveling any specific charges of criminal behavior. Rather, it is casting a wide net, fishing for any whistleblowers from Donohue’s past who might come forward with allegations of wrongdoing. The campaign against the Chamber was launched in response to the group’s opposition to climate change legislation and health care reform, and its plan to spend $100 million lobbying against these and other initiatives. [This is typical left winger behavior. Anyone who opposes their plans to destroy our economy and run our country into the ground must be attacked…ed]

Obama wanted “non-religious Christmas”?

President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious Christmas,” according to Social Secretary Desiree Rogers. Ms. Rogers reportedly told a gathering of former social secretaries that the Obamas did not intend on putting the Nativity scene on display – a longtime East Room tradition. The account was reported in the Fashion and Style section of The New York Times. The White House confirmed to the Times that there had been internal discussions about making Christmas more inclusive – but in the end – tradition won out – and the Nativity scene is once again in its traditional East Room spot. [Imagine that, the Obama’s wanted a “non religious” Christmas. Ummm, Christmas is inherently RELIGIOUS isn’t it? Then again I do recall this little Freudian slip Obama spit out before he was elected…ed]

Obama’s 47 Percent Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point

President Obama’s job approval rating has fallen to 47 percent in the latest Gallup poll, the lowest ever recorded for any president at this point in his term. Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and even Richard Nixon all had higher approval ratings 10-and-a-half months into their presidencies. Obama’s immediate predecessor, President George W. Bush, had an approval rating of 86 percent, or 39 points higher than Obama at this stage. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said he doesn’t “put a lot of stock” in the survey by Gallup, which has conducted presidential approval polls since 1938, longer than any other organization. [Ouch, George W. Bush had the highest poll numbers at 86%. Hey Gibbs, the American people obviously don’t put a lot of stock in you, your boss or the rest of the Chicago bums who have infested Washington DC and royally jacked up our country so stick that in your pipe and smoke it chump!…ed]

Shocker polls: That Sarah Palin-Barack Obama gap melts to 1 point

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, look what the pollsters just brought in. A pair of new surveys revealing that President Obama is still declining and has hit a new low in job approval among Americans just 56 weeks after they elected him with a decided margin. And — wait for it — Republican Sarah Palin is successfully selling a whole lot more than books out there on the road. Even among those not lining up in 10-degree weather to catch a glimpse of pretty much the only political celebrity the GOP has these days. (SNIP) The new CNN/Opinion Research Poll shows Palin now at 46% favorable, just one point below her fellow basketball fan. [Well looky here. The media has spent a year slamming the hell out of Sarah Palin while writing nothing but fawning prose for Barack Hussein Obama and they are now one skinny little point apart in the polls. Keep in mind Palin’s numbers are rising like crazy, even though the leftists in the media and showbiz continue attacking her with unprecedented nastiness, while Bambi’s are dropping like a rock…ed]

I was a birther before Obama’s certificate questions

The Labor Department is hurrying to correct inaccuracies in its monthly employment statistics that could cause the Obama administration big problems early next year. Those corrections, however, will probably also eliminate the inevitable — and unsubstantiated — employment gains that come during springtime. We now know that the job gains reported by Washington this past spring were an illusion. Early in 2010 the Labor Department will subtract about 824,000 jobs from its official count in what is called a “benchmark revision” to more accurately reflect the jobs that weren’t created this past spring. Yet while the bigger-than-expected job gains that were reported from April through June of this year may have turned out to be bogus, those superior numbers did help change the mood on Wall Street. The huge rally that occurred in the stock market is still going, although technical factors like the lack of other investment choices — rather than fundamentals such as improving corporate outlooks — are the true reasons for those gains. [In case you were wondering about the nonsensical Dow figures, stuff like this may have something to do with it…ed]

Obama for World President?

Rookie Democratic congressmen are reportedly afraid that Obama will stubbornly press ahead with his unpopular plans for Health Reform, even if they, his unwilling Kamikazes, get voted out of office in 2010 as a result. As a dedicated Obama watcher, I for one am not surprised by this development. In fact, I am now betting even money that our president is not particularly concerned about his own re-election in 2012, and that he will enact as many of his programs in health reform, energy conservation, arms reduction and income redistribution as he can before his current term expires, and then try for higher goals. My hunch is that he is already getting restless in his present job, and that he seeks a promotion to an even greater status. My sensitivities, sharpened by years of Obama watching, take note of the following pieces of evidence, and have gone to Condition Red: [Yeah, when this guy is done screwing up America in less than four years he can move on to destroying the entire planet! What a grand plan indeed…ed]

Four Colossal Holes in the Theory of Man-Made Global Warming

Repeating the words “scientific consensus” over and over and telling sad stories about polar bears does not qualify as “science.” So, why is it that the people who insist that Man-made global warming is based on science, not politics, always get shaky and defensive when people want to actually talk about the reasoning behind it? When was the last time you heard a scientist get hysterical when you asked him to explain Einstein’s theory of relativity? If you ask a scientist why nothing can move faster than the speed of light, he doesn’t tell you a terrible story about how koala bears will die if you don’t believe the theory is right, does he? Scientists who are confident and in command of the facts don’t need to distort data and duck basic questions about the assumptions that are behind scientific theories. [Pass this on to all your friends who have blindly joined the lame brained church of global warming. Maybe they’ll finally be able to figure out what the term “useful idiot” means…ed]

Copenhagen climate summit in disarray after ‘Danish text’ leak

The UN Copenhagen climate talks are in disarray today after developing countries reacted furiously to leaked documents that show world leaders will next week be asked to sign an agreement that hands more power to rich countries and sidelines the UN’s role in all future climate change negotiations. The document is also being interpreted by developing countries as setting unequal limits on per capita carbon emissions for developed and developing countries in 2050; meaning that people in rich countries would be permitted to emit nearly twice as much under the proposals. The so-called Danish text, a secret draft agreement worked on by a group of individuals known as “the circle of commitment” – but understood to include the UK, US and Denmark – has only been shown to a handful of countries since it was finalised this week. [Second day into this “spreading the wealth” party and things are already falling apart. Cool. This global warming scam needs to stopped in its tracks before we go broke propping up corrupt third world hellholes…ed]

Climate Treaty Reparations would cost $50-$200bn per year

Here’s a quiz. What’s the worst thing on the table at the UN Climate Control Conference in Copenhagen December 7-18? If you guessed cap-and-tax, you would be wrong. The reparations could be much, much worse. The draft of the treaty encompasses 181 pages and recites that it shall be the obligation of the developed countries (Europe, United States, Japan, Australia, etc.) to pay the developing countries (China, India, Africa, etc.) huge reparations, annual sums to erase poverty and to share technology with them. Australian lawyer Janet Albrechtsen explains the most recent draft of the treaty: [Article II Section II of the US Constitution describing the power of the president to sign treaties: “He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;” I seriously doubt Obama has 66 Senators willing to go along with this huge transfer of wealth out of the pockets of American citizens into the UN and third world countries…ed]

Greens’ Real Target: U.S. Economy

The 16,000 delegates to the two-week-long orgy of self-flagellation known as the Copenhagen Climate Conference want to shrink global output of CO2 not because of hard science, but out of envy. Even as Climate-gate suggests that sham science lies behind global warming, delegates are swarming into the Scandinavian city to push for steep cuts in carbon dioxide output by industrialized nations. We’ll let others comment on the hypocrisy of those who, while trying to force the rest of us into an ever-smaller carbon footprint, will employ more than 1,200 limousines and 140 private jets while producing 880 pounds of CO2 per attendee at their conference. Or the even-worse hypocrisy of Rajendra Pachauri, the U.N.’s global warming guru, who in one 19-month period flew 443,243 miles — including trips to have dinner at Washington’s Brookings Institution and one memorable overnighter to attend a cricket match — but now wants the rest of us to be forced into a “carbon allowance.” What goes little commented on, however, is the reason for the vehemence of these calls for CO2 sacrifice on the part of the U.S.: a desire to take our economy down. [This is a fabulously blunt description of what the Nopenhagen nonsense is really all about…ed]

CBO: 10 million will lose employer health coverage under Senate plan

The Congressional Budget Office predicts up to 10 million people would lose employer-sponsored health care coverage under Senate Democratic health care reform plan. The CBO released the data last night. “Firms that would choose not to offer coverage as a result of the proposal would tend to be smaller employers and employers that predominantly employ lower-wage workers‚”people who would be eligible for subsidies through the exchange,” The CBO reports, “although some workers who would not have employment-based coverage because of the proposal would not be eligible for such subsidies.” Senate Republicans are touting the new figures to counter claims by President Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.,that people will be able to keep their current health plan under his reform proposal. [This is precisely what the socialists in the White House and Congress intended all along with their government takeover of our healthcare system scam. It’s not about cutting costs or making private insurance companies more competitive, it’s about total control over our lives and their healthcare plan is just the ticket to that end…ed]

Most Americans Oppose Second Stimulus and Using Bailout Funds for States

President Obama hopes to use money still unspent from the $787-billion economic stimulus plan to fight the nation’s 10% unemployment rate, and one of the ideas on the table is to channel money to states to keep them from laying off public employees. But a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 22% of Americans favor providing federal bailout funds to states with serious financial problems. Fifty-eight percent (58%) oppose giving bailout money to financially troubled states. On top of that, 56% of Americans oppose the passage of another economic stimulus package this year. While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other congressional Democrats are hoping to spend more to combat unemployment, just 33% favor another stimulus plan. [If the majority of Americans oppose something you can bet the farm Obama and his cronies in Congress will try even harder to ram it down our throats…ed]

President Obama to propose $200 billion for jobs creation

President Obama will propose using $200 billion from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) to support creating jobs, White House officials confirmed Monda[y]. The president, in an economic speech before the Brookings Institution on Tuesday, will argue that the money would be well spent by funding projects to build bridges and roads, weatherize homes, and provide other assistance for small businesses as well as the unemployed. Congress in October 2008 authorized President George W. Bush’s plan for $700 billion for TARP to bail out the nation’s largest banks and financial institutions. But the banks have been repaying their loans faster than expected, so the government finds itself with untapped TARP money that it potentially could use for other domestic programs. [See what I mean? These guys just don’t get it. STOP THE DAMN SPENDING YOU FOOLS!…ed]

Man arrested for throwing tomatoes at Sarah Palin during ‘Going Rogue’ book signing

One of Sarah Palin’s critics has spoken – and it got him a trip to the hoosegow Monday. Police said Jeremy Paul Olson, 33, tried to paste Palin with a couple of tomatoes he hurled during a book signing at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. Both messy missiles launched from a balcony missed the former vice presidential candidate but one caught Bloomington Police Commander Mark Stehik right in the puss. That got Olson busted for suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct. He also may be charged with assaulting a cop. What Olson had against Palin wasn’t immediately clear. What ever it was, he was clearly in the minority. More than 1,000 die-hard supporters treated the event like another Black Friday, lining up outside in freezing weather before the mall doors opened at 5 a.m. [Had Palin been a black liberal woman this would have instantly been branded a hate crime. The High-Flying Bin Ladens — 12 Osama Kin Hold FAA Licenses

At least 12 members of Osama bin Laden’s family currently hold Federal Aviation Administration pilot’s licenses that make them eligible to fly aircraft anywhere in the United States, including three who received their licenses just this June, according to an analysis of FAA records provided to ABC News by a computer security firm, Safe Banking Systems. One of the three who received his FAA licenses this year, Yeslam bin Laden, a half-brother of Osama who lives in Geneva, Switzerland, is named in a civil lawsuit brought by the families of 9/11 victims alleging he helped to finance Osama’s al-Qaeda network as it started up in the 1990s in Yemen and the Sudan. [WTF?? A bunch of Osama Bin Laden’s relatives have pilot’s licenses that allow them to fly all over the US? Well that’s some real comforting news…ed]

Is ‘Green’ Card A Passport To Immorality?

Rebecca Tuhus-Dubrow in Slate discusses a fascinating study by University of Toronto researchers. Some participants were asked to select items they wanted to buy from a largely “green” store. Others made a wish list for a more conventional store. Subsequent tests uncovered some surprising findings, Tuhus-Dubrow noted:

Subjects who made simulated eco-friendly purchases ended up less likely to exhibit altruism in a laboratory game and more likely to cheat and steal.

The study, as she points, is the latest in a growing body of “moral licensing” research. The upshot:

When people have the chance to demonstrate their goodness, even in the most token of ways, they then feel free to relax their ethical standards. [This is no surprise. The motto of the hypocritical leftists has always been ‘do as I say not as I do because I’m too cool to do as you’…ed]

Tiger Woods TV Ads Disappear After Reports of Affairs

No advertisements featuring Tiger Woods have run on prime-time television broadcast networks or 19 cable channels since late last month, after reports of his extramarital affairs, according to data from Nielsen Co. The last prime-time ad featuring the 33-year-old golfer was a 30-second Gillette Co. spot on Nov. 29, according to New York- based Nielsen. Woods also was absent from ads on a number of weekend sports programs, including NFL games, Nielsen said. “Last weekend there wasn’t any advertisement during those games,” said Aaron Lewis, a spokesman at Nielsen. The No. 1 ranked golfer’s standing with the public has plunged in the wake of reports of infidelity that followed a Nov. 27 car accident outside his home near Orlando, Florida. Woods’s ranking among celebrity endorsers plunged to 24th from 6th, according to the Davie Brown Index, which is used to gauge the ability of personalities to influence shoppers. Boynton Beach girl: Hit-run driver stopped to scold us as my sister lay dying

The surviving girl of a hit-and-run crash says that before the driver took off, she stopped, got out of her SUV and admonished her and her sister — as one lay dying — for playing in the road. Police later caught up with Leticia Flores, 28, who they say was driving without a license Sunday when she plowed into the pair, killing 10-year-old Darness Brown and injuring her older sister Darneisha Ellis, 13, as they rode a motor scooter. This morning, a judge ordered Flores be held in lieu of $1 million bail. Darness was riding with Darneisha on Southwest Ninth Avenue at Southwest Third Street when they were hit by Flores’ maroon Honda SUV vehicle about 12:45 p.m., Boynton Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said Sunday. Daycare owner busted for moonshine

A community activist whose Web site says she is devoted to providing disadvantaged children with “supervision and protection from a hazardous social environment” has been arrested for selling moonshine out of her daycare center. N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement agents arrested Gwendolyn Brown-Johnson, 57, and her husband, Artis Johnson, 64, last Friday at Parkview Community Center, a day-care operation and community foundation off Tuckaseegee Road. On Monday, Brown-Johnson said she made a “mistake” but was set up by one of her neighbors, who calls her a “snitch” for working with code enforcement in the neighborhood.
