Germans Unhappy with Alternative Swine Flu Vaccine for Politicians

Damage control is the name of the game in Berlin on Monday as politicians rush to deny that they are receiving a better, safer swine flu vaccine than ordinary Germans. The first of 50 million doses arrived in Germany on Monday. One might think that the arrival in Germany of the first of 50 million doses of swine flu vaccine on Monday might be cause for celebration. But with news breaking over the weekend that top government officials in Berlin will be injected with an alternative vaccine — one widely seen as safer — a debate about an alleged two-class medical system has erupted. SPIEGEL over the weekend reported that Chancellor Angela Merkel, a number of her ministers and other government officials would receive a vaccine manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Baxter — the same vaccine that the German military opted for, as was reported last week. The mass-circulation tabloid Bild on Monday plastered the story on its front page on Monday, assuring its readers that “experts are accusing the government” of serving up “second class medicine” to ordinary Germans. [Don’t think for a minute this very same scenario isn’t unfolding in countries all over the globe, including right here at home…ed]

Florida plan advises hospitals to bar some patients in event of severe flu pandemic

Florida health officials are drawing up guidelines that recommend barring patients with incurable cancer, end-stage multiple sclerosis and other conditions from being admitted to hospitals if the state is overwhelmed by flu cases. The plan, which would guide Florida hospitals on how to ration scarce medical care during a severe flu outbreak, also calls for doctors to remove patients with poor prognoses from ventilators to treat those who have better chances of surviving. That decision would be made by the hospital. The flu causes severe respiratory illnesses in a small percentage of cases, and patients who need ventilators and are deprived of them could die without the breathing assistance the machines provide. [I’m glad I won’t be one of the people deciding who gets to live and who will be kicked to the curb when this curiously timed swine flu “epidemic” engulfs Florida…ed]

Look in the mirror, Mr. President

Politicians of all stripes routinely spin facts and logic so fast they make the rest of us shake our heads in bemused wonder. Then there are those rare occasions when a prominent politician says something that clearly deserves a place in the Political Chutzpah Hall of Fame. President Obama earned a place in the pantheon with his Saturday radio address. “It’s smoke and mirrors,” he said. “It’s bogus, and it’s all too familiar. Every time we get close to passing reform, the insurance companies produce these phony studies as a prescription and say take one of these and call us in a decade. [So let me get this straight. EVERYONE who is against this guy’s left wing agenda is using “smoke and mirrors” and lying but EVERYTHING coming out of his mouth and administration full of tax cheats, perverts and communist whack jobs is the absolute truth? Umm no, you Kenyan/Indonesian street urchin, even people in your own party aren’t buying YOUR brand of smoke and mirrors anymore…ed]

A Sickening Deficit

A key driver behind the president’s health care agenda is to, “help bring our deficits under control in the long term,” and yet the latest health care bill will reach annual savings of only $18 billion by the end of the decade. Before deficit hawks try to applaud Congress for fiscal responsibility, Americans should recognize that the recently enacted stimulus bill will push up the deficit by $140 billion a year. (SNIP) While there is no question that rising health care costs pose a serious threat to our fiscal outlook, the health care proposals being debated in Congress will do little (if anything) to solve the problem. While this debate consumes our public attention, don’t forget that a bigger fiscal wound has already been inflicted. Not only has the stimulus bill failed to turn the economy, but it promises to be a permanent drag. [I wonder how all that hope and change bullshit is gonna work out for the generations who haven’t been born yet but will be saddled with a ton of government debt right out of the womb? …ed]

Temple Muslim Students Association Attempts To Shut Down Wilders Event

The Temple Muslim Students Association is attempting to shut down the scheduled appearance of Geert Wilders on Oct. 20. As part of its Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, and its campaign to Stop the Campus War Against Israel and the Jews, the David Horowitz Freedom Center is sponsoring appearances by Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders at Temple and Columbia universities (Oct. 20 and 21). The Muslim Students Association has issued a statement condemning the event and calling on the Temple Administration to close it down. [So clearly this group is proving Geert Wilders is absolutely correct with what he has to say about radical Islamics! Perhaps the time has come to round up muslims in this country who fail to assimilate into OUR way of life and ship their asses back to where they came from since they seem to have so much trouble understanding what OUR Constitution has to say about the right of people in America to speak their minds…ed]

This Isn’t Change, It’s Treason

There used to be a time in this country, not that long ago, when, despite our religious, cultural and societal differences, there were at least a few basic tenets upon which we, as Americans, could all agree. We could locate our borders, we spoke a common language and shared a common understanding of our Founders and constitutionalism. There was no confusion over what constituted acts of heroism and patriotism. Conversely, we also understood and clearly recognized, evil, greed, treason and hypocrisy. But, alas, the beloved country that was so united in my youth has become a cesspool of unabated and accelerating filth, selfishness, decadence and immorality. The scoundrels that supposedly represent us don’t even have the decency to tell us the truth, read the laws they use to enslave us or listen to our objections. [While the so called news media in this country is fixated on balloon boy hoaxes, wild bears walking around in grocery stores and “Octomom” we have to go to the Canada Free Press to read hard hitting articles describing the near total destruction of our country by this bunch of marxists who have taken over America without firing a shot. Saul Alinsky is smiling up from hell about right now…ed]

High jobless rates could be the new normal

Even with an economic revival, many U.S. jobs lost during the recession may be gone forever and a weak employment market could linger for years. That could add up to a “new normal” of higher joblessness and lower standards of living for many Americans, some economists are suggesting. The words “it’s different this time” are always suspect. But economists and policy makers say the job-creating dynamics of previous recoveries can’t be counted on now. [The permanent nut kick to our economy and cutting our country off at the knees is exactly why the Soros backed Kenyan fraud was installed as president. Feel free to vent your anger on the next worthless idiot you see wearing an Obama tee shirt…ed]

Gregg: U.S. could be on path to a ‘banana republic’ situation

A leading fiscal mind on Capitol Hill and a one-time Obama Cabinet pick sounded the alarm Sunday over the projected long-term financial challenges the country faces. “This deficit is driven by us,” New Hampshire Republican Sen. Judd Gregg candidly said Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union when asked about the federal government’s projected $1.42 trillion operating deficit for the 2009 fiscal year. “You talk about systemic risk. The systemic risk today is the Congress of the United States,“ the Ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King, “that we’re creating these massive debts which we’re passing on to our children. We’re going to undermine fundamentally the quality of life for our children by doing this.” (SNIP) The figures, Gregg told King, “mean we’re basically on the path to a banana-republic-type of financial situation in this country. And you just can’t do that. You can’t keep running these [federal] programs out [into the future] and not paying for them. And you can’t keep throwing debt on top of debt.” “Standards of living will drop if we keep this up,” Gregg also said. [Yes our standard of living WILL drop like a rock and that is precisely what the leftists have been trying to accomplish for decades…ed]

Mika: With One Exception, Every CBS Reporter, Director, Anchor A Liberal

Give Mika Brzezinski credit for candor. She has stated that during her 10 years at CBS, every reporter, producer and anchor she knew, with one exception, was a liberal. The Morning Joe co-host made the disclosure today in the course of discussing with Joe Scarborough the White House’s attack on Fox News. Will Mika’s revelation trigger a frantic internal investigation at CBS to root out the Republican interloper? [Not exactly shocking news that every media outlet in this country besides Fox News is jammed packed with liberals pushing a left wing agenda and I’m sure any day now the White House will come out against the obvious bias…ed]

Double Standard: Olbermann Given Pass on NFL Commissioner’s ‘Divisive Comments’ Edict

After conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was forced out of a consortium seeking to buy the National Football League’s St. Louis Rams, there’s evidence there is a double standard at play in the NFL. Last week, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that people in “responsible positions” in his league are held to a “higher standard,” reacting to the notion that Limbaugh could be a part-owner of an NFL franchise. “I have said many times before that we are all held to a higher standard here,” Goodell said. “I think divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about. I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position within the NFL. No. Absolutely not.” [If you are a gutter crawling liberal like Olbermann you are more than welcome in the NFL. Conservative? Not so much…ed]

Hillary Clinton suffers ‘mis-speaking’ relapse with Belfast bomb claims

Hillary Clinton has been caught out “mis-speaking” again in a manner that suggests that she hasn’t learnt from past experiences of her globe-trotting, “lily-gilding” speeches. The US Secretary of State was exposed during her battle with Barack Obama to become the Democratic presidential nominee over her claims to have landed in Bosnia under sniper fire. She was even described as “a wee bit silly” for claiming greater credit than was her due for the Irish peace process, having made several visits to Northern Ireland as First Lady. [Hillary and the rest of the Obama regime don’t “mis-speak”–they are pathological liars, plain and simple…ed]

$1T reform for 5%: ObamaCare to cover few

The health-care-reform debate is plagued by different num bers on how many Ameri cans lack health insurance, but we actually have excellent data on the question: Ninety percent of Americans are insured, according to the Census — and even the president more or less concurs. The Census is the source for the much-cited figure of 46 million uninsured. Yet the very same table plainly indicates that 9 million of those are not US citizens. That leaves 37 million uninsured who are Americans. But there’s more. In the same document, the Census also plainly states that “health-insurance coverage is underreported” in its survey. When it cross-checked its survey results with the official Medicaid rolls, it found that 16.9 percent of those on Medicaid had claimed on their Census forms that they were uninsured. That 16.9 percent amounts to 9 million people. [Once you get away from the phony rhetoric from Obama and the rest of the left wingers who keep pushing for the government takeover of our healthcare system the true numbers are actually pretty easy to understand. These leftists have an agenda and it has NOTHING to do with lowering the cost of nor providing health care for all AMERICANS…ed]

Lawmakers Battle on Census Question

A measure gaining traction in Congress would require the 2010 Census to include a question about citizenship, a change that would cost millions of dollars and possibly derail a full count. Two Republican senators, David Vitter of Louisiana and Bob Bennett of Utah, have offered an amendment to a spending bill that funds the Department of Commerce, which oversees the Census Bureau. The amendment would bar any funds from being used for the Census if it doesn’t ask about a person’s citizenship status. A similar measure has been introduced in the House. If successful, the change would force the Census Bureau to reprint more than 425 million questionnaires, as it had already started printing the forms in order to have them ready for distribution in early 2010. It would require software revisions, new training materials and revised promotional campaigns. And it could fuel a boycott of the Census supported by some Latino leaders as a way to protest U.S. immigration policy. Census statistics are used to determine the distribution of congressional seats and federal funds. [Cities like San Fransisco and states like California should not benefit financially or have more (Democrat) representation in Congress due to their lackadaisical attitude towards illegal aliens. Let’s hope these bills get signed into law (LOL!!) and these so called “Latino leaders” are successful in their efforts to get the illegals to boycott the 2010 census…ed]

Dreams authorship questions mounting

Thomas Lipscomb, the founder of Times Books — publisher of Dreams from my Father, has particular credibility when it comes to examining the dispute over the book’s authorship. In an important and thorough examination of the evidence to date on Pajamas media, he concludes: The case is still open on Ayers and any responsible news organization should press on. As a publishing industry authority, he is using his status to ask difficult questions, comparing the way James Frey’s notorious literary fraud was handled — at a cost of millions the publisher sent out inserts for existing buyers and refunded the purchase price to those who felt defrauded. [I loved the last line of this article…ed]

White House aide says Barack Obama team ‘controlled’ the media

Anita Dunn, a senior White House aide, has boasted of how Barack Obama’s presidential campaign managed to “absolutely control” the press during the 2008 election. The top campaign strategist who has shot to attention recently as President Obama’s main attack dog against Fox News, the conservative-leaning cable network, was speaking at a conference in the Dominican Republic in January. “Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn’t absolutely control,” she said. “One of the reasons we did so many of the David Plouffe [Mr Obama’s campaign manager] videos was not just for our supporters, but also because it was a way for us to get our message out without having to actually talk to reporters. “We just put that out there and made them write what Plouffe had said as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it.” [Golly, and here all along I had been thinking that msnbc, cnn, nbc, cbs, abc et al were just telling us the absolute truth about this fraud! You mean he and his campaign thought they had to TELL the water carrying press whores what to report?…ed]

ObamaCare TV: Preview of ‘Organically’ Produced Television Shows?

In my piece posted earlier today, I mentioned previous television network public service campaigns and the “clunky exposition awkwardly inserted into your favorite show” to further whatever that campaign was. Last week’s episode of “The New Adventures of Old Christine” might have provided an early preview of how the networks will — per the infamous memo – “organically produce and create as many stories as possible about service and volunteerism” — and if so, it appears as though I owe “clunky exposition” an apology. Put your politics on hold for a second and at right around the 2:38 mark watch and listen to two awkward minutes of lazy, poorly written pro-ObamaCare propaganda: [The Obama administration is not content with controlling the “news” media….nooooo they want to control their agenda through these lame brained TV shows too…ed]

LEAKED NETWORK MEMO REVEALS: Obama Controls Your Television Set

On September 10th of this year the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) posted a press release informing the world that “from October 19-25, more than 60 network TV shows [will] spotlight the power and personal benefits of service,” and that this “unprecedented block of TV programming is the first wave of a multi-year ‘I Participate’ campaign.” On its face this all sounds rather benign in that silly, liberal do-gooder kind of way. The networks have launched these kinds of campaigns before and other than some clunky exposition awkwardly inserted into your favorite show to meet the mandate — no harm, no foul. But this year there are a couple new strangers in town: “Volunteerism” and “Service.” You’ve heard of them. Their names have been bandied everywhere since President Obama took office, and this internal memo from the EIF to network showrunners obtained by Big Hollywood shows that the entertainment industry is well acquainted and eager to introduce both to as vast an audience as possible: [More of this propaganda nonsense. WAKE the hell up people!…ed]

Hurdles Remain As FCC Ponders Internet Data Rules

With Democrats in charge in Washington, supporters of so-called “net neutrality” rules seem poised to finally push through requirements that high-speed Internet providers give equal treatment to all data flowing over their networks, CBS station KPIX-TV reported. These rules at the heart of a five-year policy debate are intended to guarantee that Internet users can go to any Web site and access any online service they want. Phone and cable companies, for instance, wouldn’t be able to block subscribers from using cheaper Internet calling services or accessing online video sites that compete with their core businesses. [Believe me, this corrupt anti America Obama administration is not concerned at all about us “going to any website we want.” On the contrary, what these power mad wackos are really after is just the opposite, shutting DOWN conservative websites and others opposed to their radical left wing agenda…ed]

Poll: Only 34 percent of Californians approve of Pelosi’s performance

A poll released over the weekend shows that only 34 percent of Californians approve of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) job performance, down 14 points from March. The study, conducted by the Field Research Corportation, also showed that 44 percent of respondents disapproved of her job performance while 22 percent held no opinion. In the organization’s last poll in March, 48 percent of respondents approved of Pelosi’s job performance while 35 percent disapproved. Democrats approved of Pelosi’s performance as leader by a count of 51-23, with 26 percent expressing no opinion. Republicans overwhelmingly disapproved of her performance: 7 percent approved, 79 percent disapproved and 14 percent said they held no opinion. [This liberal lunatic could care less what the polls say as she knows very well that her fellow hairball leftists in her San Fransisco district will continue to elect her as long as she runs for office…ed]

Oil jumps above $79 to 2009 high before retreating

Oil prices jumped above $79 a barrel to a 2009 high Monday before falling back as investors looked to the corporate earnings of big U.S. retailers this week for signs consumers may be regaining confidence. By midday in Europe, benchmark crude for November delivery was down 15 cents at $78.38 in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Earlier in the session, it rose as high as $79.05. The contract added 95 cents to settle at $78.53 on Friday. Last week, crude broke out of a five-month trading range between $65 and $75 a barrel on a weakening U.S. dollar and expectations that oil demand will eventually recover as the global economy grows next year. A growing economy increases demand for energy. Autopsies expected after 3 die during Detroit race

Autopsies were planned Monday a day after three half-marathoners collapsed during the Detroit marathon and died, organizers said. Daniel Langdon, 36, of Laingsburg, collapsed at about 9:02 a.m. Sunday between the 11- and 12-mile markers, said Rich Harshbarger, vice president of consumer marketing for the Detroit Media Partnership. Rick Brown, 65, of Marietta, Ohio, collapsed at 9:17 a.m., near where Langdon went down, and 26-year-old Jon Fenlon of Waterford collapsed at about 9:18 a.m., just after finishing the 13.1-mile half-marathon in 1:53:37, Harshbarger said. [I have no idea why a bunch of out of shape knuckleheads try and do this marathon nonsense other than perhaps to get one of those made in China medals at the end of the thing. You get x amount of heartbeats in your lifetime why burn em up doing this silly crap?…ed]
