Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe broke with her party Tuesday and said she will vote for a Democratic health care bill, handing President Barack Obama a much-sought boost in his quest to expand access to medical coverage to all Americans. Approval of the legislation by the Senate Finance Committee was a foregone conclusion going into Tuesday’s vote, since Democrats outnumber Republicans 13-10 on the panel. But Snowe’s decision gave the vote a significance that transcends partisan divisions. For months, congressional Republicans have been virtually unanimous in denouncing the Democratic bills as an unwarranted expansion of government influence. [ONE single “R” yes vote on this Obamination and the Democrats call the governmental intrusion into our healthcare system “bipartisan?” LOL!…ed]
A respected medical specialist has carefully reviewed the healthcare reform bill in the U.S. House, and he declares that it would amount to a virtual “draft” of doctors into the government’s “public option” health insurance program. Dr. Russell Blaylock, a renowned neurosurgeon, book author and editor of the Blaylock Wellness Report published by Newsmax, also warns that “death panels” could lead to the rationing of medical care to the elderly and a “violation of the Hippocratic Oath.” [Affirmative action healthcare workers coming soon under Obamacare…ed]
Police along with the Secret Service are investigating after a local country club discovered a symbol resembling a swastika carved into the green. Lakeville County Club workers discovered the vandalism early Monday morning. Carved into the green on the 18th hole was a swastika look-a-like next to President Barack Obama’s name. It’s obvious the Obama administration has a low regard for Fox News as a media outlet – whether it has been President Barack Obama hinting at what he has thought about Fox News, the administration passing over Fox News in a recent round of Sunday morning interviews or as White House communications director Anita Dunn recently has done – just declare open season on the network. However Brit Hume, now a senior political analyst for Fox News and regarded as a veteran figure at the news organization, took the White House head on. In his “Brit Hume Commentary” segment on Fox News Channel’s Oct. 12 “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Hume, pointed out this “feud” the Obama administration has decided to elevate is a bad idea. Six-year-old Zachary Christie was so excited to become a Cub Scout that he brought his camping utensil to school. The tool serves as a spoon, a fork and a knife, and Zachary wanted to use it at lunch. What Zachary didn’t know was that the gizmo violated his school’s zero-tolerance policy on weapons. And now the Christina School District in Newark, Del., has suspended the first grader and ordered him to attend the district’s reform school for 45 days. Ben Bernanke’s dollar crisis went into a wider mode yesterday as the greenback was shockingly upstaged by the euro and yen, both of which can lay claim to the world title as the currency favored by central banks as their reserve currency. Over the last three months, banks put 63 percent of their new cash into euros and yen — not the greenbacks — a nearly complete reversal of the dollar’s onetime dominance for reserves, according to Barclays Capital. The dollar’s share of new cash in the central banks was down to 37 percent — compared with two-thirds a decade ago. If you search our archives you will find fourteen articles that we have written since Barack Obama was elected that forecast a decline in the value of the American dollar and some of the articles detail the consequences of this decline and specifically its impact on international trade and currency. Although little notice (or reported) by the Elite Media that is carrying Barack Obama water for him, there were several reports last week that some of the leading developing nations are working on a plan to detach the American dollar from being the “reserve” currency upon which the world economy is based. Other than to fulfill what we see as a duty (to keep our readers informed) we would also point out what a careful reading of this particular article says that we have also said before: The devaluation of the dollar is intended. In fact, it is the only way that the U. S. government can finance the huge debt that it has run up, particularly in recent months since Obama took office. A Connecticut college has warned students interning for late-night, skirt-chasing TV funnyman David Letterman to stay at arm’s length from the host. A rep from Quinnipiac University told the celebrity Web site TMZ that “due to recent circumstances we will have a discussion with those in charge of placing our interns at the David Letterman show in the future.” In the statement, the school added, “We will diligently oversee this internship program to ensure that our interns are out of harm’s way.” [Once again interns are warned to stay away from another filthy stinking liberal dirtbag…ed]
Media Research Center President Brent Bozell today demanded that CNN and MSNBC prove that radio talk show king Rush Limbaugh uttered a racist quote they have attributed to him as fact after Limbaugh publicly denied having ever said, “Slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark” on his nationally syndicated airwaves. “CNN and MSNBC must immediately and publicly source when Limbaugh uttered this phrase. He has unequivocally denied it. Now it is up to the same news media that reported it as fact to prove that it was, indeed, stated,” NewsBusters Publisher Bozell insisted in a statement, arguing that if the charges are undocumentable, the offending networks are “100% guilty of character assassination.” [They can’t source this bald face lie and they know it. Rush Limbaugh says he’d gladly sit down for a conversation with President Obama if the controversial talk-radio host ever scored an invite to the White House. “Absolutely,” Limbaugh, among the president’s fiercest critics, told NBC when asked if he’d be willing to speak with Obama. “I’d be honest with him. The President of the United States is the President of the United States. I want this country to succeed, and if he invited me up there to chat, I would owe him up the dignity of being honest.” [Reading the comments after this article shows just how idiotic the left wing nutjobs in this country really are…ed]
Barack Obama is sending an additional 13,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan beyond the 21,000 he announced publicly in March, it was revealed today. The additional forces are primarily support forces – such as engineers and medical personnel – bringing the total buildup Obama has approved for the war-torn nation to 34,000. ‘Obama authorised the whole thing. The only thing you saw announced in a press release was the 21,000,’ a defence official told the Washington Post. Hampton University crowned its first non-black Miss HU Friday, leading to a division on campus that prompted her to write President Barack Obama. The White House is attacking Fox News again: it’s insufficiently obsequious for the White House’s taste. It’s a “research arm” of the Republican party, you see. And no, it’s not just Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity whom the Obama team is miffed at — it’s the whole network. On some level this is comical. No candidate and no administration has gotten such glowing treatment from the media. You would think they’d look at the big picture and be content that much of their work — ignoring uncomfortable story lines, vilifying the opposition, editing out the “uhs” and “ums” from speeches, and casting news in the most Obama-favorable light possible — is done for them. But no, they find the one TV cable network that sees its role as entirely independent of the Obama agenda to be such an irritant and so offensive that they must grouse about the speck of tough coverage in an ocean of fluff. [Glenn Beck has a direct line to the White House open on his show today and its been made available for the Obama administration to call in and correct any factual errors Beck espouses during the show. When the BBC finally ‘fessed up last week to the Global Warming Fraud — without admitting how much they aided and abetted the scam over ten years or more — a liberal gent I know was shocked. He had sort of gritted his teeth and tolerated my skepticism over the years, but he never wanted to judge the whole fraudulent business for himself, although he had plenty of qualifications to do so. But this fraud was obvious. You had to want to close your eyes not to see it. I say that with all appreciation to the scientists and bloggers like Anthony Watt, who doggedly did the hard work of double-checking the fraud. [The American Thinker.com post of the day…ed]

Steve Wynn on Fox News Sunday was interviewed by Chris Wallace. He’s the CEO of Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas. He’s also on with Jennifer Granholm, the governor of Michigan. And Chris Wallace says, “Unemployment in Nevada is 13.2%. That’s the second highest in the nation. Your company, Wynn Resorts, has more than 20,000 employees. Do you see any turnaround yet?” WYNN: No, in the sense that I think that the priorities of the administration should have been more directly focused on job creation. From the day of the inauguration forward, the priority should have been job creation. And the most powerful weapon and the tool that the government has for that is its tax policy. If the government had used its power to restrain its tax collection they would have given everybody who runs small businesses, large businesses, a chance to hire more people and that could have been done an entirely different way. With eight or $900 billion we could have created four or five million jobs, which would have made a big difference. Maybe fatty foods aren’t so bad after all. While Mayor Bloomberg was banning trans fats and requiring chain restaurants to post calorie counts, his Health Department was dishing out free coupons to McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King and Kentucky Fried Chicken, The Post has learned. Since 1993, eight years before Bloomberg took office, the agency has been giving out $5 vouchers to the fast-food joints, along with round-trip MetroCards and coupons to variety stores, to encourage tuberculosis patients to return to clinics around the city for six-month treatment programs. Senior Democrats are taking shots at the House’s new ethics watchdog, which has come back to bite some caucus members a year after Democratic leaders created it. Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) acknowledged a growing number of concerns about the Office of Congressional Ethics’s (OCE) record and predicted a coming public clash over its activities. “A lot of people have been raising concerns [about the OCE], and I support them,” Clyburn said. “At some point in the not-so-distant future, these concerns will have to be addressed.” [The Democrats create an ethics watchdog panel then freak out when it predictably comes back to bite these scumbags in the ass. The Venezuelan president launched a tirade against the “bourgeois” sport recently during one of his infamous Sunday national television addresses which can last for several hours. His government has also moved in recent weeks to shut down two of the country’s best-known golf courses, according to The New York Times. One is in Maracay and the other is in the coastal city of Carabelleda. “Let’s leave this clear,” Mr Chávez said during a live broadcast. “Golf is a bourgeois sport.” [I wonder if this idiot cleared this move with his good buddy Obama who seems to go golfing twelve times a week?…ed]
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday vowed never to allow Israeli leaders or soldiers to stand trial on war crimes charges over their actions during last winter’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip, furiously denouncing a U.N. report in a keynote address to parliament. Netanyahu’s fiery rhetoric — and his decision to open the high-profile speech with remarks on the report — reflected the deep distress felt among Israeli leaders after a U.N. commission accused Israel of intentionally harming civilians when it launched a massive attack in Gaza to stop years of rocket fire. With the choice of President Obama for the Nobel Peace Prize inspiring such widespread befuddlement, it seems worthwhile to ask, just who are these people who made this choice, and what might their agenda be? Accompanying news stories on the award were photos of a smiling Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, admiringly hold a photo of the U.S. president. (SNIP) From 1999 through 2008, Jagland was vice president of Socialist International. What’s that?
