Obama fails to win Nobel prize in economics

In a decision as shocking as Friday’s surprise peace prize win, President Obama failed to win the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences Monday. While few observers think Obama has done anything for world peace in the nearly nine months he’s been in office, the same clearly can’t be said for economics. The president has worked tirelessly since even before his inauguration to wrest control of the U.S. economy from failed free markets, and the evil CEOs who profit from them, and to turn it over to wise, fair and benevolent bureaucrats. [Obama and his gang of Chicago thugs have done a fabulous job of destroying our economy and they are now working tirelessly to push the dollar into third world country status so it does come as a shock the far left wingnuts who choose Nobel recipients didn’t take a much harder look at “The Won” for the economics award…ed]

Dollar facing ‘power-shift’: analysts

The dollar’s position as the world’s leading reserve currency faces increased pressure as the financial crisis allows emerging economies greater influence on the world stage, analysts said. A report last week in The Independent claiming that China, Russia and Gulf States are among nations prepared to ditch the dollar for oil trades has heightened the uncertainty surrounding the US currency’s future. (SNIP) The report “has helped concentrate the minds of traders and investors alike, and has given them another excuse to take the dollar lower,” GFT Global Markets analyst David Morrison told AFP. “Despite what the Fed and other central bankers say, a weaker dollar is desirable because it is necessary to rebalance the global economy. [Rebalance the global economy or put the arrogant bully America in its place? Clearly one of the reasons Obama was placed in his position was to accomplish both of these objectives at the expense of all us “evil Americans”…ed]

Heckuva Job, Barack

This was Barack Obama’s chance. Here was an opportunity to cut himself free, in a stroke, from the baggage that’s weighed his presidency down — the implausible expectations, the utopian dreams, the messianic hoo-ha. (SNIP) Here was a chance to establish himself, definitively, as an American president — too self-confident to accept an unearned accolade, and too instinctively democratic to go along with European humbug. He didn’t take it. Instead, he took the Nobel Peace Prize. [The New York Slimes jump on the “kick Obama in the boyz over the Nobel Peace prize” bandwagon. I wonder what it took to clear the piece through the White House communications office first?…ed]

Chavez says Obama did “nothing” to deserve Nobel

Venezuela’s socialist leader Hugo Chavez said on Sunday that U.S. President Barack Obama had done nothing beyond wishful thinking to earn the Nobel Peace Prize. Chavez, who has mixed praise for Obama personally with criticism of his government’s “imperialist” policies, said he thought it was a mistake when he read the U.S. leader had won. (SNIP) Chavez said giving Obama the Nobel award was like giving a baseball pitcher a prize simply for saying he was going to win 50 games and strike out 500 batters. [Even Obama’s fellow marxists have a problem with this Nobel prize nonsense…ed]

Police fight culture of ‘no snitching’

Someone knows who fired more than 30 bullets into a Shannon Road apartment in Durham in July, while three adults and a 4-year-old girl slept inside. Someone also has information about who shot and killed Thomas McLean Spruill at a Durham townhouse complex in June. But in both cases, those who know aren’t talking to police, and Durham’s police chief blames that on a culture against “snitching.” In many urban areas, providing information to police is a violation of street ethics punished by anything from intimidation to death. [Let’s call a spade a spade here. This “urban culture” against “snitching” is virtually exclusive to the hispanic and black communities and enforced by the low life gang bangers that prey on their own people with no regard for the lives of innocent people who don’t have the means to escape the jungle…ed]

NFLPA chief says no to Rush Limbaugh

NFLPA chief DeMaurice Smith stopped just sort of joining several members of his union in denouncing the bid by Rush Limbaugh to buy the St. Louis Rams. But, in a letter to the union’s executive committee reported by ESPN, Smith said he supports players speaking their minds on the issue. Last week, Jets LB Bart Scott and Giants DE Mathias Kiwanuka said they would not play for the Rams if Limbaugh’s bid is successful.

From Smith’s letter, via ESPN:

“I’ve spoken to the commissioner (Roger Goodell) and I understand that this ownership consideration is in the early stages. But sport in America is at its best when it unifies, gives all of us reason to cheer, and when it transcends. Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred.” [Who’s showing “hatred” here? Limbaugh has never NEVER shown himself to be a racist regardless of what the REAL racists in the state run left wing media continue to say. In fact his long time call screener for his radio show, is a black man! BTW, I wonder what would happen if a bunch of white players said they would refuse to play for a BLACK owner. hmmmm???…ed]

Limbaugh: Obama’s presidency worsening relations between races

In a rare interview, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said that President Barack Obama’s election has worsened racial problems, not helped solve them. Limbaugh claimed that critics of Obama’s policies are quickly labeled racist, creating a toxic environment for political discourse. “I’ll be honest with you, I predicted to you it was going to exacerbate racial problems, and it has,” he told NBC in an interview that aired this morning. “Any criticism of President Obama is going to be said to be racism. And if you don’t like his healthcare bill, racism. And I opposed it when Clinton and Hillary were trying to do it, and they aren’t black.” [The power brokers calling the shots at the DNC knew they wouldn’t be able to ram their globalist left wing agenda down America’s throat with the white girl Hillary at the helm and that is why they made sure Obama would be the “WON” to take up residence inside the White House. Limbaugh nails it, any opposition to Obama’s POLICIES have been instantly labeled “racist” and we all know how politically correct this country has become. Problem for the lefties is we have seen right through this charade from the get and we ain’t backin’ down!…ed]

PC Prize for PC Prez

Surprise: Some liberals have a sense of shame. It showed up with the farcical award of a Nobel “PC” Prize for the first real PC president in American history: A black guy who tells daily lies with real grace and artistry. Mr. Obama is the very incarnation of PC: He played on his race in beating Hillary Clinton, and at any other time it’s been convenient. When his popularity plunges, as it will soon, the American people will be accused of racism again. [Your “American Thinker.com” article of the day…ed]

Saving the Earth by Hating Humanity

As “global warming,” the greatest hoax of the modern era, bites the dust around the world, it behooves us all to contemplate why environmentalists—Greens—would attempt to hoodwink the world’s population into believing they can do anything to “control” the planet’s climate. One singular fact stands out in all Green propaganda and permeates all the legislation and other programs they sponsor. It is a contempt and disdain for the Earth’s human population. The leaders of the movement hate humanity. Obsessed with population growth, anything that can reduce it—disease, poverty, famine, or lack of energy is pursued as part of the Green agenda. [Start reducing the planet’s population of humans huh? Let’s start with these Green Weenies and clear their asses out first then step back and see what kind of impact that makes on the quality of life for the rest of us…ed]

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Glenn Beck’s Idiots

When I received a review copy of the new book by over-emoting radio-TV talker Glenn Beck, I sighed and put it to the side. What put me off were the book’s title, Arguing with Idiots, and the cover photo showing Beck dressed as a commissar, making a funny face. Since it’s axiomatic that arguing with idiots is a waste of time, I thought one might as well have published a book called Exercise in Futility for Dummies or The Idiot’s Guide to Banging Your Head Against the Wall– neither prospect appeals to me all that much. [Overall a great review on Beck’s latest tome “Arguing With Idiots” although I disagree with the writer about Beck’s marketing style for the book. What we need are many more of the younger crowd in this country to become interested and informed and this in your face style just might do the trick even if it does turn off some of the stogy old farts among us…ed]

Insurance Industry Assails Health Care Legislation

In a blistering new attack, the health insurance industry said Sunday that health care legislation drafted by Senate Democrats would drive up premiums, rather than making coverage more affordable, as the White House contends. (SNIP) “The overall impact will be to increase the cost of private insurance coverage for individuals, families and businesses above what these costs would be in the absence of reform,” said Karen M. Ignagni, president of the trade association. [Driving up the cost of private health insurance to FORCE people into the government run program is PRECISELY what Obama and Congressional Democrats are TRYING to accomplish with their various pieces of UNCONSTITUTIONAL legislation…ed]

Obama family attends St. John’s Episcopal Church, near White House, but still mull house of worship

The First Family attended services at the church nearest the White House Sunday, but they were no closer to deciding on a permanent place of worship. The Obamas, who have been without a home church since President Obama broke with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, went to St. John’s Episcopal Church on the other side of Lafayette Park from the White House. Confronting Al Gore with An Inconvenient Question

The Society of Environmental Journalists spent much of their conference in Madison, Wisconsin questioning why mainstream journalism was dying. Then they answered their own question when they decided it was their role to protect Al Gore from An Inconvenient Question. Phelim McAleer, the director of Not Evil Just Wrong, asked Al Gore about the British Court Case which found his documentary An Inconvenient Truth had nine significant errors. McAleer said that given his documentary is being shown in schools – does he accept the errors and has he done anything to correct them? Show Me the Bill!

Do you think Congress should vote on bills without reading them? How about voting on bills that don’t even exist yet, except in fragments? The Senate Finance Committee is poised to vote on a massive health care reform bill on Tuesday allegedly authored by Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.). A glaring, outrageous, unreported fact is that the bill’s actual text has been kept secret. No one actually knows what’s in it – not even the senators who will be told to vote for it. Barack Obama ready to pay Afghan fighters to ditch the Taliban

The Obama administration is considering outbidding the Taliban to persuade Afghan villagers to lay down arms as it struggles to find a new approach to a war that is fast losing public and congressional support. Despite five war councils in two weeks, President Barack Obama has so far failed to come up with a strategy for the conflict that may define his presidency. Fierce infighting continues between his own generals and advisers. (SNIP) Gilles Dorronsoro from the Carnegie Institute insisted: “You cannot break an insurgency that strong with money. It’s not a mercenary force — it’s a very powerful movement.” [Chicago style bribery is the new Obama administration’s Afghanistan policy. That should make the families of those killed in that craphole over the last eight years feel so much better abut their son’s ultimate sacrifice. Quote of the day.

It is fair to say there are individuals in the United States who ascribe to al-Qaeda-type beliefs and so it makes information-sharing, it makes effective law enforcement and it makes the shared responsibility of law enforcement ever so important.

-Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano. No wonder American citizens have been arming themselves to the teeth ever since the “Incompetent Won” …..”won”.
