“I Am a Member of ACORN” — Is Legislator Blocking Probe?

The American Spectator has learned that a bill introduced in the Pennsylvania legislature to investigate the activities of the controversial Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now — ACORN — is stalled in the powerful State Government Committee. The chairman, State Representative Babette Josephs, a Philadelphia Democrat, is a member of ACORN. [The Democrat party is as corrupt as the crooks running and working for ACORN…ed]

ACORN threatens to open Pandora’s box

In the wake of Fox News reporting on the unfolding ACORN scandal, ACORN is now threatening to sue the network. Now that Fox is actually breaking news on this story by showing new videos, ACORN might just do it. Fox News should pray that ACORN does sue, because it would blow the doors off this story, possibly destroying ACORN and erupting into a political scandal in Washington. As bizarre as it seems, ACORN is threatening to sue Fox for reporting on these incriminating videotapes. Glenn Beck broke news with a new tape on Monday, and Sean Hannity might be doing the same shortly. Evidently, ACORN is accusing Fox of coordinating with the filmmakers, arguing that somehow these reports make Fox legally liable. ACORN’s unavoidable problem, however, is that suing Fox News would give Fox — or any other media organization — the ultimate Christmas present: a legally enforceable way to compel ACORN to give up all its secrets. [Let us hope. Let us pray. To those running this corrupt organization called ACORN, please please PLEASE sue NewsCorp/FOX NEWS so that we can all get the chance to see just how filthy your gang of goons really is…ed]

SEIU chief: We won’t be silenced by the ‘ugly, anti-American’ ‘lies, stunts and smears’ of ‘attack dogs, Teabaggers and Glenn Beck’

Andy Stern, head of the Service Employees International Union, has just released a statement vowing not to be “silenced” by “right wing attack dogs” targeting “progressive individuals” and “community organizations.” Stern, whose union has sometimes been linked with the community organizing group ACORN, which yesterday suffered an enormous blow when the House of Representatives voted 345-45 to cut off all federal funds for the organization, said his union will not be intimidated by a right-wing “backlash” that is “fierce, ugly and anti-American.” Here is the full text of Stern’s statement: [This left wing thug leads the group of union goons that beat the crap out of a conservative black guy in St. Louis. In addition SEIU and ACORN are thick as thieves and since ACORN just got kicked hard in the groin their SEIU brethren are feeling the pain in a big way too. Life is grand…ed]

California Joblessness Reaches 70-Year High

California’s unemployment rate in August hit its highest point in nearly 70 years, starkly underscoring how the nation’s incipient economic recovery continues to elude millions of Americans looking for work. While job losses continue to fall, the state’s new unemployment rate — 12.2 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics — is far above the national average of 9.7 percent and places California, the nation’s most-populous state, fourth behind Michigan, Nevada and Rhode Island. Statistics kept by the state show California’s unemployment rate was 14.7 percent in 1940, said Kevin Callori, a spokesman for the California Employment Development Department. [If the gubmit is saying the unemployment rate is 12.2% you can bet it’s closer to 20%. CA is a classic example of what happens when the feeble minds of liberals are hard at work. And spare me the BS that the state has a Republican governor. Schwarzenegger is a Republican like I’m a rodeo cowboy…ed]

Employment falls in 42 states, D.C.

Forty-two states and the District of Columbia lost jobs last month, confirming that the nation’s labor market continues to deteriorate even as more “green shoots” are sighted in other areas of the economy. Fourteen states and the District suffered double-digit jobless rates in August as the unemployment rate increased in 27 states and the nation’s capital, the Labor Department reported Friday. As a result, states whose budgets have been battered by soaring unemployment, rising social spending and collapsing tax revenues took another big hit in August even as the nation appeared to be climbing out of recession. [The actual unemployment rate is really around 17% and I’m wondering where this administration is seeing signs the economy has turned the corner on the recession?…ed]

First lady says US health care is unacceptable

Michelle Obama, speaking as a wife, mother and daughter — but not as a policymaker like a previous first lady — urged women on Friday to join her husband’s fight to overhaul health care. Her 23-minute speech, embraced by a receptive female audience at the White House, contributed to the administration’s all-out public relations push on health care. President Barack Obama will resume it Sunday with appearances on five morning news shows, followed by a visit Monday to CBS’s David Letterman show. Mrs. Obama focused on the White House’s efforts to expand coverage and block insurers’ ability to drop customers who get seriously ill. But she stopped well short of the deeply involved, hands-on role played by another first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, nearly two decades ago. [Now desperate, the White House trots out James Brown’s twin sister to (fake) tearfully push ObamaCare in front of a hand picked audience of braindead liberal women. Yawn…ed]

Obama Claims Sasha Had Disease That She Did Not (video)

“When our youngest daughter, Sasha, was diagnosed with meningitis when she was just three months old, it was one of the scariest moments of my life.” [The liar in chief and his wife evidently relate a bogus healthcare story involving one of their kids but the odd thing is it appears our current medical system worked just fine in this particular instance and it looks like their kid received care without any racism rearing its ugly head…ed]

Obama’s risky ‘Full Ginsburg’

On Sunday, President Barack Obama will execute what might be called a Modified Full Ginsburg — appearing on five Sunday morning talk shows to make a pitch for health reform. It’s a move few politicians have attempted. Even fewer have been able to stick the landing. The Full Ginsburg, of course, was named for Monica Lewinsky’s lawyer William Ginsburg, who first did the five-fecta of Sunday talk on Feb. 1, 1999. Obama’s move is slightly different – swapping in the Spanish-language network Univision for Fox News Channel. But there’s no guarantee it’ll work. [If Obama was really interested in “getting the word out” concerning his efforts to have the federal government take over the American healthcare system The Gutless Won would grow a pair and stop by the FOX NEWS studios tomorrow since FOX dominates every other media outlet in the country…ed]

DNC promises ‘rain of hellfire’

The increasingly aggressive Democratic National Committee on Friday launched a new “Call ’Em Out” website targeting prominent Republicans for statements they have made about President Barack Obama’s health reform plans. “Help debunk the outrageous lies and misinformation about health reform,” the site says. DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said: “The message to opponents of change who would lie or misrepresent the truth should be clear. We are going to respond forcefully and consistently with the facts, and you will no longer be able to peddle your lies with impunity. Through tools like ‘Call ‘Em Out,’ you will be met with a rain of hellfire from supporters armed with the facts and you will be held to account.” [Hey chumps, bring it on. The fact is your political base is jammed full of the lowest common denominator of the human race so these dolts wouldn’t know what a “fact” was if it sat in their laps and called them mama. Independents are bailing in support of ObamaCare in droves and Republicans saw right through the charade from the get so this left wing meanness and nastiness, the kind of stuff that made Nancy Pelosi almost shed some phony crocodile tears over the other day, isn’t gonna make an ounce of difference in the scheme of things…ed]

Who taught you to lie, call people names, and accuse people of racism?

Where did the Democratic Congress, the Obama administration, and the main stream media learn to act so rudely, obnoxiously, and disingenuously; to call people names, treat others without any common courtesy or manners, and above all else to be deceptive and lie to citizens of the United States? Politicians and main stream media types learned this behavior at some point in their lives. Did it start at home in early childhood? Did their mothers teach them to blame others for their mistakes, to call people names if they disagree with you, and to cover their backsides at all costs using any number of lies and false accusations? What explains a systemic failure of this magnitude in so many politicians and main stream media types? I presume they all were raised by mothers who taught them basic lessons in civility. Were they raised to act as they do today or did they choose this behavior? [Left wingers are just mean, nasty racist pigs by their very nature, always have been…ed]

Lawsuit Firesale

Here and there across America, good news does happen. Take Oklahoma, where the looming prospect of legal reform is causing a run on lawsuits. Earlier this year the state legislature passed a reform abolishing joint and several liability and imposing a $400,000 cap on noneconomic damages, among other medical malpractice changes. The law will soon take effect, and this month one of Oklahoma’s leading plaintiffs firms, Merritt and Associates, sent an all points legal email bulletin to potential clients: “DANGER! TORT REFORM LEGISLATION EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1ST. FILE YOUR LAWSUITS NOW!” You have to admire the subtlety of the salesmanship. [Tort reform is a major component of getting healthcare costs under control but the lawyers’ lobby owns the Democrats so this is something we’ll not see until the Republicans are back in the saddle…ed]

Where is Hillary Clinton in the great missile defence surrender?

Excuse me, but when Washington announces a revolutionary change in the way it conducts its relations with the outside world it is normal for the American Secretary of State to be involved in some way. So where’s Hillary Clinton? We’ve heard a lot from President Barack Obama and Robert Gates, the Defence Secretary, about their lamentable decision to abandon the missile defence system in Europe, which has been a key pillar of the transatlantic alliance for a decade or more. But we’ve heard not a squeak from Mrs Clinton. Could this be that, unlike Mr Obama and Mr Gates, she sees this decision for what it is, an abject surrender of American influence in Europe, and a shocking betrayal of all those former vassal states of the Soviet Union that are desperately seeking the support and protection of the West? [Since she is basically irrelevant she’s gonna bail from Obama’s little dictatorship and run for governor of New York so why would she care about the missile defense shield that is no longer…ed]

Military growing impatient with Obama on Afghanistan

Six months after it announced its strategy for Afghanistan, the Obama administration is sending mixed signals about its objectives there and how many troops are needed to achieve them. The conflicting messages are drawing increasing ire from U.S. commanders in Afghanistan and frustrating military leaders, who’re trying to figure out how to demonstrate that they’re making progress in the 12-18 months that the administration has given them. Adding to the frustration, according to officials in Kabul and Washington, are White House and Pentagon directives made over the last six weeks that Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the top U.S. military commander in Afghanistan, not submit his request for as many as 45,000 additional troops because the administration isn’t ready for it. Source: Colo. Man in Suspected NYC Subway Plot Admits Ties to Al Qaeda

The Colorado man under FBI investigation into an alleged New York subway terror plot has admitted he has ties to Al Qaeda and is in negotiations to plead guilty to a terror charge, a source at the Department of Justice told FOX News. The source said 24-year-old Najibullah Zazi, who until now had protested that he had no connection to Al Qaeda, changed his story Friday. Zazi reportedly told officials that he had received explosives training and may plead guilty as part of a deal to cooperate with the government. [WAIT! WHAT?? I thought with the closet muslim in the Oval Office we didn’t have to worry about terrorism in this country anymore. What the hell is going on here?…ed]

Obama’s Approval Rating Drops Below 50 Percent Among Middle-Income Americans, Says Gallup Poll

President Obama’s approval rating has dropped below 50 percent among middle-income Americans, according to tracking done by the Gallup Poll during the period from Sept. 7-Sept. 13. For a month, President Obama’s overall job approval rating has been scraping along at or just above 50%, according the Gallup tracking poll, which interviews approximately 1,000 adult Americans everyday. In the most recent three day period, the poll put his overall approval rating at 51%. Among Americans in the middle-income brackets, however, the president’s approval rating has now dropped below 50%. [Time for a do-over of that last presidential election. Rep. Bachmann: ‘Cap-and-Trade’ Is Doomed

Even as the Democrats’ controversial healthcare overhaul founders in the Senate, another one of President Obama’s chief agenda items, climate change, also is floundering. Ultimately, the cap-and-trade plan will be scrapped despite Democrats’ all-out efforts to salvage it, says Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn. Bachmann, a staunch opponent of the measure, told Newsmax.TV the proposal is a top priority for Democrats because “this is the revenue raiser that the Democrats are counting on to pay for all their out-of-control spending. Remember, they spent a trillion dollars of taxpayer money on boondoggle projects earlier this year. They need to pay for this and this is their indirect tax so to speak on the middle class that will be used to pay for this out-of-control spending.” [Michele Bachmann nails it. Cass Sunstein wants to spread America’s wealth

It is “desirable” to redistribute America’s wealth to poorer nations, argued President Obama’s newly confirmed regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein. According to Sunstein, global climate change is primarily the fault of U.S. environmental behavior and can, therefore, be used as a mechanism to redistribute the country’s wealth. The argument bears striking resemblance to comments made by Obama’s former environmental adviser, Van Jones. WND reported Jones used a major environmental convention to argue for spreading America’s wealth. Now WND has learned Sunstein made similar, more extensive arguments. The Obama czar penned a 2007 University of Chicago Law School paper – obtained and reviewed by WND – in which he debated whether America should pay “justice” to the world by entering into a compensation agreement that would be a net financial loss for the U.S. Sunstein heavily leans on the side of such an agreement, particularly a worldwide carbon tax that would heavily tariff the U.S. [Another far left anti American loon, who is a close advisor to Barack Hussein Obama, wants to give away this country’s hard earned wealth to the rest of the world…ed]

Quote of the day.

The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them.
