Democrats see race factor for Barack Obama foes

Eight months into Barack Obama’s presidency, as criticism of his administration seems to reach new levels of volume and intensity each week, the whispers among some of his allies are growing louder: That those who loathe the nation’s first African-American president, and especially those who would deny his citizenship, are driven at least in part by racism. (SNIP) Other Democrats, not as constrained by the office they hold, are more outspoken about what they see as the racism aimed at Obama. “We think all of it is!” exclaimed Gwen Dawkins, a Democratic activist from Michigan and retired state employee when asked to what degree the fervent opposition to Obama was driven by his skin color. [Few dispute Obama’s citizenship. What they dispute is the fact he is not a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN as required by our Constitution. His father was never a U.S. citizen. In addition we heard liberals bellyaching for EIGHT YEARS that George W. Bush was not a legitimate president and was not “their ” president. EIGHT YEARS we listened to this crap so if all you crybabies can’t handle criticism directed toward “your” president too damn bad. Get used to it for the next three and a half years. Oh and you clowns have beaten the weak ass “racist” drum over every issue under the sun for so long that nobody listens or cares about that BS anymore…ed]

Some Blacks Now Have Doubts About Obama

Americans of all political persuasions agree that the nation has problems. Big problems. (SNIP) According to the Pew Research Center, the president’s approval rating nationwide is now 10 points lower than last April. Included in this is a three-point drop in his approval among blacks. You might say, Star, a drop in approval ratings among blacks from 95 percent to 92 percent is trivial. But I say not so. If we assume this reflects the 16 million blacks who voted for Obama last November, a three point shift means there are about a half million blacks who now have buyer’s remorse. [Blacks who don’t toe the liberal line regardless of their true political beliefs are treated like pariahs within their own ethnic community. Little wonder why so many of these folks are unwilling to break free of the Democrat party chains and shackles that have held them captive on the liberal plantations for decades…ed]

Pace of new stimulus spending slows

The government handed out stimulus money far more slowly this summer than it had in the first weeks after the massive economic recovery plan started, even though President Obama and other members of his administration had vowed to hasten that aid. Facing criticism from some economists that the stimulus was not moving quickly enough, Obama told his Cabinet in June that he was “not satisfied” with the speed with the government distributing more than $500 billion, and that his administration was “in a position to really accelerate.” But in the months that followed, even though more construction projects began, the pace of new spending dropped. [One has to wonder if this “stimulus” bill was nothing more than a huge war chest being held back for the 2010 election in order to assist the Democrats in holding onto power. One thing is certain, this money was never intended to stimulate the economy…ed]

House Dems seek to repeal marriage law

House lawmakers are poised to introduce legislation that would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The law, which was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1996, defines marriage as between a man and a woman, and prevents same-sex married couples from receiving the same federal benefits as heterosexual married couples. Reps. Jerold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), and Jared Polis (D-Colo.) — who is the first openly gay member elected to the House — plan to introduce a bill this week that would scrap DOMA. Baldwin is also gay. [This should be a states rights issue and should have nothing to do with the federal government…ed]

Obama blows chance to lead

When, exactly, did the bloom come off the rose? For a good many, I’ll bet it was 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, just after President Barack Obama delivered another “sounds good, less filling” speech before a joint session of Congress. (SNIP) After nine months, Americans have begun to make up their minds about this president, and the growing conclusion is this: On the menu of competency, this leader of the free world is one taco short of a full combination plate. He’s undisciplined, snooty and less gifted than initially thought, making him ill-prepared to grasp greatness, even when history offers it. [Disdain for Obama has nothing to do with race, hell give me Thomas Sowell as president any day of the week, it has to do with with his arrogant snotty ass attitude that anyone who disagrees with his radical leftist agenda is somehow too stupid for words…ed]

Liar-in-chief

Senate Democrats rushed to insert language into the healthcare bill to require verification of citizenship to receive government healthcare. It wasn’t in there Wednesday night when President Barack Obama claimed, erroneously, that his bill ensured illegal aliens would not receive the taxpayer-funded healthcare. Republicans in the House tried to insert language for verification, but Democrats defeated those efforts. Obama knew this on Wednesday night when he spoke to Congress and the American people. Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) knew this, too, when he called the president out on his lie during the speech. [Article title says it all. BTW, it’s ok if Obama threatens to “call people out” who he thinks is “misrepresenting” the Democrats effort at taking over our healthcare system but when HE is called out for HIS lies all of the liberals come apart at the seams…ed]

World celebrities sing to stop global warming

British rock group Duran Duran and heavy metal band Scorpions are among 55 world celebrities who have joined in recording a song to draw attention to the global warming crisis, organisers said on Monday. The song is part of a mass media campaign on the threats of climate change organised by the Geneva-based Global Humanitarian Forum, headed by former UN secretary general Kofi Annan. The song entitled “Beds’r Burning”, which was originally recorded by the Australian group Midnight Oil in the 1980s, can be downloaded from the Internet for free and will be presented to the public at a launch in Paris on October 1. Sonic weapons used in Iraq positioned at Congressional townhall meetings in San Diego County

“Long-range acoustic devices [LRADs] for crowd control can be extremely dangerous. These are used in Iraq to control insurgents. They can cause serious and lasting harm to humans…We want to know WHY our Sheriff Dept has this weapon,” Sal Magallanez of San Diego-based Liberty One Radio said in an e-mail sent to East County Magazine, prompting a joint investigation. The device was stationed by San Diego County Sheriff deputies at a recent town hall forum hosted by Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-San Diego) in Spring Valley and at a subsequent town hall with Congressman Darrell Issa (R-San Diego). The Davis Rally drew an estimated 1,300-1,500 people, including vocal conservative and liberal protest groups. A public records search conducted by East County Magazine has confirmed that the device is an LRAD 500-x manufactured by San Diego-based American Technology Corporation (ATC). Capable of use as an effective loudspeaker, the LRAD also has the ability to emit a deafening tone aimed at incapacitating and dispersing a crowd without use of lethal force. Poll: News media’s credibility plunges to new low

The news media’s credibility is sagging along with its revenue. Nearly two-thirds of Americans think the news stories they read, hear and watch are frequently inaccurate, according to a poll released Sunday by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. That marks the highest level of skepticism recorded since 1985, when this study of public perceptions of the media was first done. (SNIP) “The great flood that goes under the heading `news media’ has been poisoned by junk blogs, gossip sheets, shout radio and cable-TV partisans that don’t deserve to be trusted,” Keller told The Associated Press in an e-mail. Mike Huckabee: Journalism is dead

Former Arkansas GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee, currently a Fox News talk show host, ripped the media this weekend, claiming that journalism has been reduced to “ink-stained drivel that smeared the pages of paper and the people who attempted to read it.” “I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism,” Huckabee wrote in a post on his political action committee’s blog. “The once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.” [The final nail in the coffin was hammered in during the 2008 presidential election. Obama’s poll numbers drop — in New York!

In a troubling sign for President Obama, his popularity is dipping — in New York of all places — as he tries to get a handle of the bad economy, the ongoing war in Afghanistan , while trying to push through a controversial health care bill. Although 57 percent of registered voters across the state believe Obama is doing either an excellent or good job in office, the president’s support has slipped over the summer, according to a Marist Poll released today. Forty-three percent of state voters currently say Obama is falling short of expectations since taking office in January. Obama Pledges to ‘Own’ Health-Care Bill

President Barack Obama, continuing his push to secure support for a health-care overhaul, reiterated his willingness to address the issue of medical malpractice suits, a Republican priority. But the president suggested that his desire for a bipartisan bill wouldn’t trump his ultimate goal of passing legislation this year. “We’re not going to get a better opportunity to solve our health-care issues than we have right now,” he said in an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes. (SNIP) Mr. Obama said he would take responsibility for any health-care legislation passed. “You know, I intend to be president for a while and once this bill passes, I own it,” he said. “And if people look and say, ‘You know what? This hasn’t reduced my costs. My premiums are still going up 25%, insurance companies are still jerkin’ me around,’ I’m the one who’s going to be held responsible.” [This Obamacare garbage is deliberately slated to roll out in 2013, the year AFTER the 2012 presidential election so this clown could care less if the entire country goes ballistic over the mess this legislation makes of American citizens’ lives…ed]

Poll: Economy Still Troubles Most Americans

One year after Wall Street teetered on the brink of collapse, seven out of 10 Americans lack confidence the federal government has taken safeguards to prevent another financial industry meltdown, according to a new Associated Press-GfK poll. Even more — 80 percent — rate the condition of the economy as poor and a majority worry about their own ability to make ends meet. The pessimistic outlook sets the stage for President Barack Obama as he attempts to portray the financial sector as increasingly confident and stable and presses Congress to act on new banking regulations. The public sentiment also poses a challenge to central elements of Obama’s governing agenda. Half of those surveyed said deficit reduction should be a national priority over increased spending on health care, education or alternative energy. Off-duty Memphis officer kills robbery suspect

An off-duty Memphis police officer shot and killed a man trying to rob him late Saturday, officials said. The incident took place about 11:50 p.m. in the 2200 block of Meadow Glade Lane in the Raleigh area. (SNIP) A preliminary investigation, police said, shows that the suspect pulled a pistol on the victim, demanding money. Police said he pointed the weapon at the officer’s head.
