US Weekly losing thousands of subscribers due to Sarah Palin smear.

After a huge backlash and a truly lame response by a senior editor the “news” magazine US Weekly is getting pounded with cancellations for their blatantly biased cover showing Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin with the words “Babies, Lies and Scandal” splattered over her picture. Word has it that there is a mounting campaign of the readers to start putting pressure on the magazine’s advertisers, a successful tactic often used by the left.

The bias showed by the media is starting to bite them in the rear as polls show over half the people in this country believe that they have been deliberately trying to unfairly smear Palin.

“Over half of U.S. voters (51%) think reporters are trying to hurt Sarah Palin with their news coverage, and 24% say those stories make them more likely to vote for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in November.”

From Zogby.com.

“The vast majority of American voters believe media bias is alive and well – 83% of likely voters said the media is biased in one direction or another, while just 11% believe the media doesn’t take political sides, a recent IPDI/Zogby Interactive poll shows.”

“Nearly two-thirds of those online respondents who detected bias in the media (64%) said the media leans left, while slightly more than a quarter of respondents (28%) said they see a conservative bias on their TV sets and in their column inches. The survey, which focuses on perceptions of the “old” and “new” media, will be released today at the PoliticsOnline Conference 2007 at GWU.”

It’s a whole new ball game and we are no longer reliant on TV news programs or newspapers for our information. Wondering if we are being told the truth by the news media is no longer an issue as it takes all of 30 seconds to get to the bottom of a story when we have doubts. Keep that in mind mainstream media the next time you rely on far left leaning blogging sites for your sources. 😉
