End of O’s cowardly lyin’

We the people of the United States owe Scott Brown’s sup porters a huge debt of gratitude. They didn’t merely elect a senator. They ripped the façade off the Obama presidency. Just as Dorothy and Toto exposed the ordinary man behind the curtain in “The Wizard of Oz,” the voters in Massachusetts revealed that, in this White House, there is no there there. It’s all smoke and mirrors, bells and whistles, held together with glib talk, Chicago politics and an audacious sense of entitlement. At the center is a young and talented celebrity whose worldview, we now know, is an incoherent jumble of poses and big-government instincts. His self-aggrandizing ambition exceeds his ability by so much that he is making a mess of everything he touches. [Ouchy! Well I guess someone had to come along and write a column describing exactly how the majority of us feel about the empty suit thrust upon us by a bunch of unthinking inept dolts…ed]

White House nightmare persists

At the end of Barack Obama’s worst week since taking power a year ago, the US president’s fortunes look set only to deteriorate over the coming days. Following the shock defeat of the Democratic candidate in Massachusetts on Tuesday, a move that deprived the president of his 60-seat super-majority in the Senate and left his legislative agenda in tatters, Mr Obama has just four days to reboot the system. (SNIP) In short, Mr Obama’s nightmare January could easily slip into a nightmare February. “Unless and until the president changes the way his White House, works, things are going to continue to go badly for him,” says the head of a Democratic think-tank. “Heads still have to roll.” [The Nightmare For Most Americans Still Persists IN The White House. There, fixed the headline for ya there Mr. Luce…ed]

Obama Needs to Shift From Liberal Policies

Go back some decades, and it looked as if liberals were going to be the death of America. They wanted to take it really easy on criminals. They favored welfare programs that destroyed families. They backed foreign aid that buttressed tyrannies. Their way of dealing with enemies was unilateral disarmament. Still other proposals could have spent, taxed and regulated us into oblivion. The voters didn’t like all of this, the L-word became a curse, and so liberals went into something akin to a witness protection program. They changed their name to “progressives” and if they did not quite hide out, they became less obtrusive with some of their views. [We could only wish Obama was merely a “liberal.” Leopards don’t change their spots and neither will this guy or the people who control him. These people are desperate. Let’s just continue to hope we have our regularly schedule election in November…ed]

When Tolerance Trumps Principle

We were invited to dinner with friends and extended family. Wonderful company. Good food. Stimulating intellects. All was well…until the conversation brushed up against two “untouchables” in a Southern home: religion and politics. As the exchange heated and civility gave way to raw emotion, a timid family Democrat pleaded for tolerance, entreated both sides to lay down their verbal firearms, and then abandoned the dinner table in search of safe harbor and warm, fuzzy house cats. Relishing the beef tenderloin, I pondered the assets and liabilities of a tolerant society. [Another brilliant AmericanThinker.com article. “Tolerance is the pry bar by which the modern liberal moves boundaries.” Let that sink in for a moment…ed]

Who is Mark Spivey? Another Obama Astroturfer; UPDATED With Still More Astroturfing

I joined a Facebook group called “Who is Ellie Light?” This morning I was invited to join a new group: “Who is Mark Spivey?” Who is Mark Spivey? I know only this: that he is the author of this pro-Obama letter that has appeared in numerous publications: [First we had “Ellie Light” writing fawning letters to the editors that were published in at least 62 different newspapers around the country (and who’s email IP came back as originating from Saudi Arabia!) now we have a newly discovered “Mark Spivey” situation. So when do ya suspect the lamestream media will catch up to the New Media and look into what the hell is going on here?…ed]

Why I Regret Voting For President Obama

I am a registered Independent. I voted for Barack Obama. And for that, I am sorry. I’m not sorry for you. I’m sorry for me. Because I voted for Obama for me, not for you. I voted for hope and change and all the intangibles that Obama was peddling in the wake of the financial crisis, Sarah Palin, Sept. 11 and all the other ills that shook our country in the last decade. I wanted something new. Something different. What I got was, I suppose, exactly what I voted for – a spin doctor. And not a very good one at that. Before John McCain unwittingly picked a tabloid-magazine cover girl for his running mate, I was leaning toward going Republican this time around. (SNIP) Seven years later, I am ashamed to say that I was blinded by charisma. Obama was so convincing that I stopped caring about what he knew and started getting caught up in the euphoria. [Nice to see this moronic bimbo admit she was one of millions who were too stupid and full of politically correct nonsense to do the right thing back on November 4, 2008. I wonder why it was so easy for the rest of us to see right through the bullshit while this nitwit was all aflutter over voting for a guy just because he was half black? Wait, no I don’t. Liberals are so predictable….ed]

CNN poll: 56 percent oppose stimulus program

A majority of Americans oppose the economic stimulus program, according to a new national poll. Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Sunday say they oppose the stimulus package, with 42 percent supporting it. Last March, just weeks after the stimulus bill was signed into law by President Barack Obama, a CNN poll indicated that 54 percent of the public supported the program, with 44 percent opposed. [If we’re “agin” it, rest assured Obama and his cronies will do their best to try and ram it down our throats. You can pretty much bet the farm that if the 44% who want this crap to pass actually had to open THEIR wallets and pay for it, the “opposed” would stand at damn near 100%…ed]

Modern Cuba has little to boast about save for its glorious past

Returning to Cuba for the first time in 30 years, I was shocked to see how little it has changed. The crumbling buildings, the shabby public places, the half-empty shop shelves … they all remain the same — as does the love of rhumba, rum and laughter that so many Cubans share. There is one key difference, however, between the Cuba of 1980 and the Cuba of 2010. (SNIP) Enthusiasm for the revolution — both inside and outside Cuba —has all but vanished in 2010. [After reading this perhaps many can figure out why there are so many American patriots who are adamantly opposed to the creeping SOCIALISM happening in their country…ed]

Dulles flight to Las Vegas diverted because of unruly passenger

A United Airlines flight from Washington to Las Vegas was diverted to Denver on Saturday night after a passenger became unruly and tried to open a cabin door, authorities said. Other passengers subdued the man and he was removed from the airplane at the Denver airport, authorities said. The man, who was not identified immediately, was being questioned by the FBI, a bureau spokesman said. [This kind of crap seems to have reached a fever pitch lately and I have to wonder why “the authorities” continually fail to identify by NAME these people who are disrupting so many flights around our country. If our local newspapers can identify and even in some cases post a picture of some guy simply arrested for trying to hook up with a prostitute why can’t we find out the identity of the jackasses screwing up our travel plans?…ed]

Feb. 18 is deadline for bedroom smoke detectors

City residents who don’t have smoke detectors in their bedrooms will have to get their tools out soon. An amendment to the city housing code will require residents to install smoke detectors in their bedrooms by Feb. 18. The amendment also requires a smoke detector on every floor of a house. The Winston-Salem City Council passed the amendment on Aug. 18, 2008, with the provision that it would take effect in 18 months. (SNIP) The city’s requirement applies to new and existing houses, apartments and condominiums. [I have no beef with building codes but what this got me to wondering is how does the city plan on enforcing the requirement on existing structures? Are they actually planning on sending people out to inspect every residence in town? If so, what do they plan on doing when people tell the inspector to go pound sand when he/she shows up at the front door?…ed]

Turbines turn into headache for Vinalhaven

Cheryl Lindgren was excited when the three wind turbines down the road began turning in November, but within days her excitement turned to disbelief. The sound at her house, a half-mile or so away, wasn’t what she had expected. As she sat reading in her quiet living room, she could detect a repetitive “whump, whump” coming from outside. “I can feel this sound,” she recalled thinking. “It’s going right through me. I thought, ‘Is this what’s it’s going to be like for the rest of my life?'” Dedicated two months ago with great fanfare, the Fox Islands Wind Project is producing plenty of power, but also, a sense of shock among some neighbors. They say the noise, which varies with wind speed and direction, ranges from mildly annoying to so intrusive that it disturbs their sleep. And they say they lament losing the subtle silence they cherish living in the middle of Penobscot Bay — the muffled crash of surf on the ledges and the whisper of falling snow. [I say too damn bad for all the green weenies that really think building these windmill monstrosities is the answer to the reliable methods of providing energy this country has enjoyed for decades. You wanted it, you got it. Now freakin’ live with it whiners…ed]

Glacier scientist: I knew data hadn’t been verified

The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders. Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research. In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Dr Lal, the co-ordinating lead author of the report’s chapter on Asia, said: ‘It related to several countries in this region and their water sources. We thought that if we can highlight it, it will impact policy-makers and politicians and encourage them to take some concrete action. [More proof this man made global warming garbage is nothing but another leftist hoax on the people of the world. Please people, wake the hell up…ed]

China to rich nations: Hand out climate money now

Brazil, China, India and South Africa called Sunday for developed countries to quickly begin handing over the $10 billion pledged in Copenhagen to poor countries to help them deal with the effects of climate change. The first funds should go to the least developed countries, including small island states and African countries, said Xie Zhenhua, China’s top climate change negotiator after a meeting of the representatives of the four nations in New Delhi. The four developing world giants – known as BASIC – also said they would their submit plans for combatting climate change to the U.N. this week. [The U.S. is in hock to China to the tune of nearly one trillion dollars. Our national debt is somewhere north of 12 trillion dollars. The U.S. is sitting at nearly 20% true unemployment. A half a million Americans applied for unemployment benefits last month. Millions more homes belonging to Americans will go into foreclosure this year. Barack Hussein Obama just promised to send more than 100 million dollars we don’t have to Haiti with more to come whenever he decides to try and make some political points. The U.S. GDP was just over 2% last quarter and the Obama administration laughingly claimed the economy had turned the corner towards prosperity. Just the other day I heard China’s economy grew at nearly 9% last year. Tell me again who should be sending money to poor countries to help them deal with the climate change scam…ed]

Man Arrested for Urinating on Steaks

A Canton man remains in jail after being arrested for urinating on a meat counter at a Wal-Mart store. According to Lt. Linda Brown of the Canton Police Department, Robert T. Jenkins, 21, of Canton, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Friday morning and charges with felony vandalism and disorderly conduct. [Code Yellow, clean up in the meat aisle please…ed]

Quote of the day.

Seventy percent of the voters in Massachusetts wanted to work with Democrats on health care reform, only 28 percent want to stop health care reform from happening. … If Republicans want to assume that the outcome of what happened in Massachusetts is a big endorsement of their policies when 40 percent are enthusiastic about them and 58 percent are angry about them, then I hope this misread that election as badly as anybody could.

-White House Press Secretary Baghdad Bob Gibbs.

[I fully realize everything about the Obama administration is smoke and mirrors and completely detached from reality but what kind of idiot would actually swallow what this moron just said? Hey Baghdad, try to read and comprehend THIS!…ed]
