Sarah Palin’s new book is number ONE over at Barnes and Noble and it isn’t even due to be released until November 17th!

It’s also already number TWO at amazon.com! This book will be number one on the New York Times best seller list for weeks if not months but you won’t read a single review about it just like they didn’t review Mark Levin’s latest book even though it sat on top of the heap for several months. Way to go Sarah and I hope you make a TON of money of this effort…ed

Patriot Act helped foil New York terror plot

President Obama called New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly to thank him for his efforts in thwarting a planned terrorist attack on the city’s subway system, which counterterrorism experts describe as the most serious terror plot since 9/11. But Obama should have also thanked his predecessor in the White House. The arrest and indictment of Najibullah Zazi on charges of conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction was made possible by the “roving wiretaps” allowed by the Patriot Act, which was signed into law in 2001 by President George W. Bush. “All the layers of defense President Bush set up after Sept. 11 are working,” Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., pointed out. [A grip of New York liberals probably had their lives saved by legislation they spent years whining and bellyaching about. Of course Øbama thanks the police commissioner for saving all of those Democrat votes…ed]

Criminal deportees often fly unescorted

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials routinely put illegal immigrants unescorted on commercial flights for deportation, including some who are sex offenders or have other criminal records, according to documents and field agent accounts. The practice has prompted complaints from a key U.S. senator and ICE union leaders, who contend that putting illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes on commercial airlines unescorted poses a severe public safety risk. Unescorted deportees have caused disruptions on flights and have absconded after unscheduled stops, including two Peruvian deportees who disappeared from Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport in July, according to field agent reports collected by union officials. Internal ICE documents show that illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes involving victims as young as 11 have been allowed to fly unescorted. [More insanity courtesy of the idiots running our federal government. Maybe we could take a look at those responsible for this extremely dangerous practice then fire their asses…ed]

State to Mom: Stop Baby-Sitting Neighbors’ Kids

Each day before the school bus comes to pick up the neighborhood’s children, Lisa Snyder did a favor for three of her fellow moms, welcoming their children into her home for about an hour before they left for school. Regulators who oversee child care, however, don’t see it as charity. Days after the start of the new school year, Snyder received a letter from the Michigan Department of Human Services warning her that if she continued, she’d be violating a law aimed at the operators of unlicensed day care centers. “I was freaked out. I was blown away,” she said. “I got on the phone immediately, called my husband, then I called all the girls” — that is, the mothers whose kids she watches — “every one of them.” [One of this lady’s neighbors bawled to the Michigan state government that God forbid some kids had a place to hang out for a few minutes and wait for their school bus in the morning. Little doubt it was some little whiny ass liberal who has a difficult time minding their own business…ed]

Obamamania Over? T-shirts Measure Success

They cashed out retirement funds to build their business during the 2008 presidential campaign. Now they have 3,000 jack-in-the-boxes with smiling Barack Obama puppets inside – all sitting in a California warehouse, waiting to be sprung open for $29.95 apiece. For Barack-in-the-Box creator Heather Courtney and her husband, David Manzo, the Obamamania that drove sales so fast they could barely keep up during the inauguration is over now. Sales have slowed to a “sporadic drizzle,” the 36-year-old artist said, in part because the president’s just not as popular. “The sort of rock-star-making-history thing had its peak,” Courtney said. “It seemed like people said ‘That’s all done now, let’s get down to business.”‘ [Maybe they could change the name to “Fraud-In-The-Box” and market these stupid things through Hillary Clinton fanclub websites?…ed]

Former ACORN worker details blackjack voter registration bonuses

In the summer of 2008, with presidential contenders battling fiercely over the swing state of Nevada, Christopher Edwards was racing to register voters. As the field director of ACORN’s Las Vegas office, he brainstormed a way to motivate meagerly paid canvassers: If they turned in 21 or more registration cards in a day, they were each given a $5 bonus. “Hey, it’s Las Vegas,” Edwards testified Tuesday. “It’s blackjack.” But Edwards’ “blackjack bonuses,” which he bragged about to other ACORN offices, broke the law, state prosecutors say. Nevada bars quotas or cash incentives in voter sign-up efforts: Officials fear they could lead to false registrations. [“Officials fear they could lead to false registrations.”???? OF COURSE these quotas led to phony voter registration forms being submitted by these workers which is precisely what the top brass at the criminal enterprise known as ACORN wanted!…ed]

FEMA Grant to ACORN is Offensive

Earlier this month and despite the public scrutiny over the voter fraud and felony criminal activity associated with ACORN, the Department of Homeland Security went ahead and granted $997,402 to ACORN under the FY 2008 Fire Prevention and Safety Program. To most people, the timing and the amount of the grant would seem off base, but when you take into account the fact that DHS awarded ACORN–an organization with no clear expertise in fire safety and prevention–a fire prevention and safety grant, it’s just plain offensive. With fire departments all over Louisiana – and the rest of the country – struggling to make ends meet and get the equipment and training they need to protect their local communities, the idea of a million dollar grant going to ACORN is unsettling, to say the least. [A million dollars to this corrupt group from FEMA for fire prevention and safety? The only think these ACORN thugs are good for is breaking the law, what the hell do they know about fire prevention and safety? Their Democrat friends in the federal government will always find a way to slide them taxpayer funds regardless of all the investigations into their crooked activities…ed]

Al Qaeda Bombers Learn from Drug Smugglers

Al Qaeda has developed a new tactic that allows suicide bombers to breach even the tightest security, as CBS News correspondent Sheila MacVicar reports. Inside a Saudi palace, the scene was the bloody aftermath of an al Qaeda attack in August aimed at killing Prince Mohammed Bin Nayef, head of Saudi Arabia’s counter terrorism operations. (SNIP) Taking a trick from the narcotics trade – which has long smuggled drugs in body cavities – Asieri had a pound of high explosives, plus a detonator inserted in his rectum. [At the end of the article it explains how easy it would be for one of these terrorists to pull this “dynamite-stick-up-the-butt” trick on one of our airplanes and it would be virtually impossible to detect the explosives prior to boarding. Senate wants big cut in pollution

A Senate climate bill calls for a 20 percent cut in greenhouse gases by 2020, deeper than the reductions mandated by the House but also includes stronger measures to try to avoid energy price spikes, according to a draft of the bill. The draft obtained by The Associated Press, remains subject to change. But the overall carbon reduction requirements are expected to stand. The Democratic bill is to be released Wednesday by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee with a vote by the panel likely in late October. The draft includes an economy-wide cap and trade system that would require power plants, industrial facilities and refineries to cut carbon dioxide and other climate changing pollution. While there would be an overall emission cap, polluters would be able to purchase emissions allowances to limit reductions. [Aren’t these state run media editors clever? Instead of the title ‘Senate wants big cut in pollution’ why don’t they tell the truth and use ‘Democrat Senators Pushing For Huge Tax Increases On Consumers Via Climate Change Legislation’?…ed]

Dear Senator: Why you should vote against cap-and-trade

Earlier this year the U.S House of Representatives approved the Waxman-Markey bill to establish a so-called cap-and-trade program designed to reduce U.S. carbon dioxide emissions. Cap-and-trade is a gee whiz name, but all it means is that the government would establish a total limit for annual CO2 emissions, auction or otherwise distribute ration coupons for the right to emit, and then allow the holders to buy and sell coupons in a legal secondary market. (SNIP) For one thing, it would be a terrible deal for American taxpayers. According to the Environmental Protection Agency’s own projections, Waxman-Markey would impose annual costs of about $1,100 per household (a little less than 1 percent of total consumption) by 2050. [This whole climate change scam is nothing more than a plan for the government to control how we all live our lives and pick our pockets at the same time. This Obamanation must be defeated!…ed]

WaPo Columnist: Dems Need Attack Dog To Counter GOP Rhetoric

Barack Obama is President, Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House, Harry Reid is Senate Majority Leader, Bill Clinton is doing the television circuit to revive his reputation, most journalists are still hopelessly in the tank for the current White House resident, and the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza is concerned that the Democrats don’t have a voice to counter Republican talking points. This is almost as silly as a New Yorker losing sleep over the Yankees not having enough money to field an allstar team next year. Regardless of the apparent absurdity, such was Cillizza’s point in a blog posting at WaPo’s The Fix. [Another liberal columnist whining that the pissed off American public has managed to throw a big ass monkey wrench into Øbama’s radical agenda. WAAAAA Boo hoo…ed]

Obama to Hear From McChrystal for First Time Since Troop Request

President Obama will hear from his top commander in Afghanistan on Wednesday for the first time since the general warned that America’s mission in the unstable country will likely fail without more troops. The president is attending the first in a series of Afghanistan strategy sessions with his national security team amid criticism that he has not acted quickly enough to address the challenges U.S. forces face there, and that he has been downplaying advice from Gen. Stanley McChrystal. The security team includes top military and diplomatic officials with whom Obama has been in regular contact. But McChrystal, who will join the private meeting via video feed, has talked with Obama only once since taking over U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan over the summer. [Well ain’t it nice Øbama can take a moment out of his day lobbying for mayor Daley to get the Olympics to come to Chicago in 2016 to talk to the commander of our forces in Afghanistan for the first time in two and a half months…ed]

FedEx flies terminally ill girl home

Because of caring people and a caring company, a terminally ill little Green Forest girl was flown home Friday by air ambulance from M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, so she can spend her last days surrounded by the people who love her most. Jada Harper, who turned seven on Sept. 1, has an inoperable malignant tumor in her brain and is in a coma with a ventilator doing her breathing for her. She has been at the famous cancer center in Houston since July, but her situation is now at the point not much else can be done to help her. [It would be predictably cynical to think FedEx did this for commercial purposes but it is nice the company stepped up to help this little girl and her family out at this critical time…ed]

Anti-Graffiti Plan Raises Stakes for Homeowners

Looking to prevent your home from becoming a tagger’s canvas? The city of LA has a plan that asks homeowners to pitch in or pay — whether they want to or not. All new buildings in Los Angeles — including homes — must have anti-graffiti coating under an ordinance approved unanimously by the City Council on Tuesday. Homes in the tagThere is an exception if the owners promise to remove any graffiti on their property soon after it appears. The ordinance will take effect 30 days after being signed by the mayor. The anti-graffiti coating must cover the walls and doors from the ground to a height of at least nine feet. (SNIP) Failure to abide by the contract could result in a $550 fine. [A $100 36 ounce aluminum baseball bat swung deftly at the heads of these little graffiti scribbling asshats would be a hell of a lot cheaper and much more effective at putting an end to the problem…ed]

Grayson: GOP wants ‘you to die’

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) warned Americans that “Republicans want you to die quickly” during an after-hours House floor speech Tuesday night. His remarks, which drew angry and immediate calls for an apology from Republicans, were highlighted by a sign reading “The Republican Health Care Plan: Die Quickly.” Veteran Tennessee Republican Jimmy Duncan abandoned customary reticence to chastise Grayson. “That is about the most mean-spirited partisan statement that I’ve ever heard made on this floor, and I, for one, don’t appreciate it,” Duncan said. Sadly For Countdown With Keith Olbermann Ratings, Presidential Elections Don’t Happen Every Year

In the ideal cable news ratings world there would be the run up to a Presidential election *every* year. Sadly for MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann, it’s just one in four. Comparing Q3 2009 with Q3 2008, the show has lost 21% of its cable news target adults 25-54 demo , and 12% of its average viewership. 2012 will be a long time coming. President and First Lady Travel 4,000 Miles — on Separate Planes — to Lobby for Olympics

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are both traveling to Copenhagen this week to promote Chicago’s bid to host to the 2016 Olympic Games–and they will be making the 3,979-mile trip on separate airplanes. The first lady left on Tuesday night, while the president will leave for Denmark on Thursday night. Taxpayers will pick up the tab for both jets ferrying the president and first lady separately to Europe. 83% Say Congress Should Post Bills Online For All To Read Before Voting On Them

Eighty-three percent (83%) of U.S. voters say legislation should be posted online in final form and available for everyone to read before Congress votes on it. The only exception would be for extreme emergencies. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds only six percent (6%) of voters disagree with this approach while 10% are not sure. Of those who favor posting congressional bills in their final form on the Internet, 64% say they should be available to the public two weeks or more before Congress votes and 29% favor posting bills one week before a vote. Just four percent (4%) think three days before a congressional vote is soon enough, while one percent (1%) say one day is enough. [Another one of Øbama’s lies was when he declared he would have all legislation posted online for at least five days prior to him signing it. It seems the vast majority of Americans are desirous of this yet the Democrats want no part of allowing us to read the crap they are attempting to ram down our throats…ed]

Senators reject stronger anti-abortion language

Senators writing a health care overhaul bill on Wednesday rejected a bid to strengthen anti-abortion provisions already in the legislation, in a vote that could have far-reaching repercussions. The 13-10 vote by the Senate Finance Committee could threaten support for health care overhaul from some Catholics who back its broad goal of expanding coverage. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, argued that provisions already in the bill to restrict federal funding for abortions needed to be tightened to guarantee they would be ironclad. [Like we didn’t know the Democrats had every intention of including federally funded abortions in ObamaCare all along…ed]

Quote of the day.

A well-instructed people alone can be permanently a free people.

-James Madison. The left wingers know that if they can promote and instill emotion based indoctrination in our educational system rather than teaching children to become critical thinkers they will be much more malleable as voting adults and much more willing to give up their freedom and liberty under the guise of the government taking care of them from cradle to grave.
