The rules murdering our troops

When enemy action kills our troops, it’s unfortu nate. When our own moral fecklessness murders those in uniform, it’s unforgivable. (SNIP) Mission-focused, but morally oblivious, Gen. Stan McChrystal conformed to the Obama Way of War by imposing rules of engagement that could have been concocted by Code Pink: * Unless our troops in combat are absolutely certain that no civilians are present, they’re denied artillery or air support. * If any civilians appear where we meet the Taliban, our troops are to “break contact” — to retreat. [Nice strategy, tell the enemy who and what we won’t attack so they can then exploit these rules of engagement and kill or wound our “handcuffed” sons and daughters. We are NOT in Afghanistan to protect this country in any shape or form and as long as the stupid ROIs are in place and we don’t have enough boots on the ground to do the job right the Taliban will simply kick our asses like they did with the Russians…ed]

The naif-in-chief

Who wrote President Obama’s speech for the start of the UN General As sembly yesterday — Rodney King? You know, the guy whose videotaped run-in with cops sparked the 1992 LA riots, leading King to ask: “Can’t we all just get along?” Today that question is used derisively, to mock naive “solutions” for social ills. But it essentially sums up Obama’s 38-minute UN plea, as Washington’s former UN envoy John Bolton noted. Except that Obama is supposed to be the wise leader of the Free World. What a truly pathetic performance. [This man’s ignorance and cluelessness about how the real world works is what makes him so dangerous to the genuine citizens of this country. Throwing the United States under the bus in front of the rest of the world is fine by this guy as long as all the dictators and despots stand up and applaud for him…ed]

Dems block GOP demand for more time

Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday turned back a Republican amendment to wait 72 hours and require a full cost estimate before the final committee vote on the health care reform bill. It was the committee’s first vote out of more than 500 amendments awaiting them, in what has already been a contentious mark-up session. The amendment would have delayed a vote on the final bill for about two weeks to allow the Congressional Budget Office to complete its final analysis on the cost and implications of the legislation. Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln was the only Democrat to vote with Republicans for the amendment, further signaling that she may be an attractive swing vote for Republicans. Instead, the panel passed an alternative amendment that would require the committee to post the full bill, in “conceptual” instead of legal language, as well as as a CBO cost estimate. [There can only be one simple reason why the Democrats do not want the American people to read the legislation they come up with and that’s because their agenda is bad for this country and they know it…ed]

50,000 Muslims to Pray on Capitol Hill: Guess Who’s Not Happy?

The event sounds like yet another Tea Party protest, or perhaps an encore of last weekend’s Values Voter Summit: Devout believers joining together this Friday to pray on Capitol Hill for the soul of America. Who could argue with that? Well, when the believers happen to be Muslims, and there could be as many as 50,000 of them kneeling to pray in Arabic, yes, you could see how there might be some blowback from the usual suspects. [Yeah blowback from people who love their country and aren’t liking what they are seeing with these Muslims taking over the western world by virtue of sheer numbers. 500 of these butts in the air types will show up and every left wing media outlet will claim there were millions. Sounds like one hell of a target rich environment to me. Ahhh, just kidding of course…ed]

A Secret White House Power Grab Is In Full Swing

It’s one thing for President Obama to surround himself with the advisers he’d like to have, but it’s another to bestow on them sweeping powers to broker secret negotiations and push forward vast new regulations that could cost American families thousands of dollars. Cap-and-trade energy tax legislation appears stalled, at least for now, in the U.S. Senate. But that doesn’t mean the cap-and-trade energy tax isn’t imminent. (SNIP) Driving the push for this massive power grab and circumvention of the elected branches is a key White House official who avoided Senate confirmation by being installed not as EPA director, but instead as White House Climate Czar: Carol Browner. [Ready to rip the face off that ignorant ass neighbor who voted for this hopey changey Øbama fraud yet? If not maybe this article will be all the “stimulus” you need…ed]

GOP gets big bump of donors in August

Despite being in the minority in Congress, Republican campaign committees outraised Democrats by $1.7 million in August as they have aggressively collected political cash amid the rancorous debate over health care. Republicans also held an edge over Democrats in the amount of money available, when counting debts, as both parties set the stage for the 2010 elections, in which more than three dozen competitive House and Senate seats are at stake. The GOP spike is a departure. In each of the past four years, the party in power — whether Democrat or Republican — raised more than the minority’s fundraising committees in August, a USA TODAY review of campaign records shows. [Spend the money wisely GOP and put a stop to this disastrous Øbama administration’s plans for destroying what’s left of our country…ed]

Obama Economic Adviser Doubts President’s Plan

White House adviser Paul Volcker today criticized the Obama administration’s sweeping financial regulatory reform proposals, specifically one that he warned could lead to future bailouts by designating certain firms as “too big to fail.” In testimony prepared for a hearing Thursday morning before the House Financial Services committee, the former Federal Reserve chairman expressed doubts about the administration’s proposal to designate certain firms that pose a threat to financial stability, subject them to stricter supervision, and make them submit resolution plans in the event of failure. [I suggest Volcker pass on long lonely walks in the woods after this little disagreement with the narcissist in chief who of course doesn’t think anything he does is the wrong approach…ed]

Mount Vernon faces financial boycott over Glenn Beck

On Saturday native son Glenn Back will be handed a key to the city of Mount Vernon, but protesters are trying to stop a ceremony to honor such a controversial and conservative commentator. Some of them are even threatening a financial boycott of the city if the show goes on. Wednesday night, protesters handed over some 16,000 signatures at the city council meeting, urging the mayor to cancel the event. [Oh boo hoo. The leftists are all riled up and are gonna take their ball and go home. Since these types generally have the attention span of a three month old they’ll forget what they were “protesting” in about a day and a half and all will be back to normal around town…ed]

Almost 90% of Americans Think Media Helped Get Obama Elected

Almost 90 percent of Americans believe the news media helped Barack Obama get elected president last November. Beyond this, 70 percent feel the press are promoting his presidency, with 56 percent saying they’re pushing ObamaCare “without objective criticism.” Such were the findings of a new national poll taken by Sacred Heart University. In fact, according to Wednesday’s press release, almost half of Americans “have permanently stopped watching a news media organization, print or electronic, because of perceived bias.” [The media didn’t just help Øbama get elected they created the monster and kept feeding it until it became larger than life. Naturally my first question would be, what the hell were the other 10% thinking?…ed]

Barack Obama’s churlishness is unforgivable

The juxtaposition on our front page this morning is striking. We carry a photograph of Acting Sgt Michael Lockett – who was killed in Helmand on Monday – receiving the Military Cross from the Queen in June, 2008. He was the 217th British soldier to die in the Afghan conflict. Alongside the picture, we read that the Prime Minister was forced to dash through the kitchens of the UN in New York to secure a few minutes “face time” with President Obama after five requests for a sit-down meeting were rejected by the White House. [churlish: : marked by a lack of civility or graciousness and churl: a rude ill-bred person. Sounds about right when describing Øbama…ed]

Environmentalists Seek to Wipe Out Plush Toilet Paper

There is a battle for America’s behinds. It is a fight over toilet paper: the kind that is blanket-fluffy and getting fluffier so fast that manufacturers are running out of synonyms for “soft” (Quilted Northern Ultra Plush is the first big brand to go three-ply and three-adjective). It’s a menace, environmental groups say — and a dark-comedy example of American excess. The reason, they say, is that plush U.S. toilet paper is usually made by chopping down and grinding up trees that were decades or even a century old. They want Americans, like Europeans, to wipe with tissue made from recycled paper goods. It has been slow going. Big toilet-paper makers say that they’ve taken steps to become more Earth-friendly but that their customers still want the soft stuff, so they’re still selling it. Times: Inconvenient Truth About Cooling May Retard Efforts to Fight Warming

In an article that might well have deserved publication in the Onion, the New York Times introduced a heretical notion to its readership today. Despite the fact that any skepticism about global warming and the responsibility of humanity for this rise in temperatures is now considered proof of insanity, the Times reported that it appears more than likely that “global temperatures have been relatively stable for a decade and may even drop in the next few years.” This must come as quite a shock to an American public that has been relentlessly propagandized on this issue and convinced that the end of civilization as we know it is just around the corner. But facts are stubborn things, and for all the hoopla about “saving the planet,” now even the Times is prepared to admit that far from heating up at the exponential rates Al Gore has discussed to near universal applause, it appears that the story is a bit more complicated than he may have let on. [Had to absolutely drive the editorial staff crazy at the NYT to let the truth out of the bag. What are they trying to do with this stunt, stay in business?…ed]

Critics: TARP Has Failed to Halt Foreclosures or Job Losses: Watchdog Warns Taxpayer Won’t Make Back $700B TARP Investment

Nearly one year after Congress approved the $700 billion financial bailout, it was attacked by Republicans and fiscal watchdogs as an expensive failure that has not stopped home foreclosures or jobs from disappearing. “This has been a failed program,” Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., said at today’s Senate Banking committee hearing. “The very promises made to the taxpayer of what was going to happen with this money, in my judgment, have not been kept.” [Of course the promises haven’t been kept, that never was the intention of the lying swindlers presently running our government…ed]

The Soros-Axelrod Axis?

George Soros is one of the big sugar daddies of the Democratic Party. He also is the ruler of an archipelago of so-called 527 groups that pose as non-partisan activists groups, but in fact are often hyper-partisan (such as MoveOn.Org), and are often employed by Democrats to influence elections. Soros, for years, has been the top funder of such groups. His influence among Democrats is widespread and enduring (and was well-documented by David Horowitz and Richard Poe in their book, The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party). His pet think-tank, the Center for American Progress, has been the idea factory and employment agency (think Van Jones, among others) for President Obama. [Soros is one of the most evil people on this planet and millions have suffered because of his actions. Sadly this cretin has bred and his offspring are sure to follow in their sperm donors footsteps…ed]

Independents desert Obama, putting 2010 in play

Independent voters are turning away from President Obama and his fellow Democrats in droves. And if they can’t find a way to get them back, the party could be in deep trouble for 2010 and beyond. Independents gave Obama the White House last year with a vote for pragmatic competence. They have been repaid with partisanship and dithering. And unlike liberals who Obama has quickly re-energized after their summer doldrums, independents are devilishly hard to win back once they lose faith. The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, the Rolls-Royce of public surveys, showed that for the first time, independents disapproved of the president’s performance, 46 percent to 41 percent. [Gotta wonder what those lame brain 41% are smoking…ed]

YouTube sensation Dude Perfect’s ‘world’s longest basketball shot’ – real or fake?

The Texas A&M students who make up ‘Dude Perfect’ posted the astonishing results on YouTube – apparently showing them throwing a basketball from the top tier of a football stadium, and straight into the basket on the far side of the field. Two videos, one from the thrower’s perspective and one from beneath the basket, seem to back up their claims. So far 3,300,000 people have viewed the videos, including their Dude Perfect: Summer Camp edition. Video experts say that they are unable to tell where edits have been made. Young people’s Obamamania has cooled

Young Americans showed their collective power when they helped vote President Obama into office. Inspired by his message of “change,” they knocked on doors, spread fliers, voted for him by a 2-1 margin, and partied like rock-the-vote stars when he won. Since the election, though, that fervor has died down — noticeably. And while young people remain the president’s most loyal supporters in opinion polls, many people are wondering why that age group isn’t doing more to build upon their newfound reputation as political influencers. “It’s one thing to get excited about a presidential candidate. It’s another thing to become a responsible citizen,” says Jennifer Donahue, political director for the New Hampshire Institute Of Politics. She and other political analysts think they have yet to prove themselves. [Yeah, these simple minded yeahoos don’t quite know what to do now that real life has suddenly shown all this hope and change and yes we can bullshit was nothing but a focus grouped farce. Dolts…ed]
