Sunday August 2nd

After 18 years of lying buried in the Iraqi desert, Navy pilot Michael Scott Speicher is coming home.

Navy officials announced early Sunday that Marines in western Anbar Province, Iraq, had found remains that have been positively identified as those of an American fighter pilot shot down in the opening hours of the first Gulf War in 1991. The Navy pilot, Michael Scott Speicher, was the only American missing in action from that war.

Liberal, activist judges doing more damage out there in CA. Just what the state needs with it’s 12% unemployment rate and multi billion dollar deficits.

A San Bernardino County Superior Court judge has ordered the city of Rialto to invalidate its approvals for a proposed Wal-Mart supercenter because the city did not adequately analyze the project’s environmental effect, among other factors. (SNIP) In May, Judge Barry Plotkin, also of San Bernardino County Superior Court, rebuffed Wal-Mart’s plan for a supercenter in the desert city of Yucca Valley, partly on the grounds that it had failed to take measures to reduce its contribution to global warming. Plotkin ordered Yucca Valley officials to examine the feasibility of an “environmentally superior ‘green’ Wal-Mart supercenter alternative.” These and other rulings suggest a growing legal consensus that climate change must be considered by businesses and governments promoting new developments.

Maybe this nitwit should sue the Obama administration instead.

She has given new meaning to a class-action lawsuit. Trina Thompson gave it the old college try, but couldn’t find work. Now she thinks her sheepskin wasn’t worth her time, and is suing her alma mater for her money back.

Wow, never could have seen this one coming. Of course a grip of Obama supporters don’t pay federal taxes anyway so they aren’t going to care. Everything out of this administration from day one was and is a lie.

To get the economy back on track, will President Barack Obama have to break his pledge not to raise taxes on 95 percent of Americans? In a “This Week” exclusive, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told me, “We’re going to have to do what’s necessary.” Geithner was clear that he believes a key component of economic recovery is deficit reduction. When I gave him several opportunities to rule out a middle class tax hike, he wouldn’t do it. “We have to bring these deficits down very dramatically,” Geithner told me. “And that’s going to require some very hard choices.”

Somehow I just don’t think the American people want blind folks driving down the road behind the wheel.

Several blind people were able to get behind the wheel of a new high-tech vehicle designed by Virginia Tech engineering students. Twenty blind people took turns maneuvering the retrofitted dune buggy Friday in a parking lot at the University of Maryland.

Hey all you British folks with bad backs, how’s that government run healthcare workin’ for ya these days?

Tens of thousands with chronic back pain will be forced to live in agony after a decision to slash the number of painkilling injections issued on the NHS, doctors have warned. The Government’s drug rationing watchdog says “therapeutic” injections of steroids, such as cortisone, which are used to reduce inflammation, should no longer be offered to patients suffering from persistent lower back pain when the cause is not known.

Left wing lunatics frothing at the mouth over bogus Sarah Palin divorce nonsense. Time to play these clowns like a fiddle Sarah!

Much like Chevy Chase would regularly announce on Saturday Night Live that “General Francisco Franco is still dead,” the rumors that Sarah Palin is getting a divorce are still false. The media got all amped up again today when a little known blog claimed to have inside information that Alaska’s most famous resident was splitting up with the former First Dude. News outlets feverishly jumped on the claim just like Captain Sig Hansen when he’s got a pot full of crab (in the spirit of Alaska, we’re trying to keep the metaphor local).

John McCain (R-INO) says not so fast on more funding for the disastrous cash for clunkers mess.

New money for the so-called “cash for clunkers” program easily passed the House Friday, but the proposal faces a challenge from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who has pledged to block the measure. McCain said he would filibuster the bill, expected to be considered by the Senate next week, that would redirect $2 billion in energy loans for auto companies into the program.

Felony marijuana raid…highly unlikely trio. Ya just never know.

Prosecutors this week charged a Pushmataha County middle school teacher, her forest ranger husband and her son with felony marijuana cultivation. Law enforcement officials searching for marijuana fields in a helicopter on July 20 spotted cannabis plants near the home of Katherine Henslee, 52, near State Highway 3 and the Kiamichi River bridge east of Antlers, according to court papers. Law officers on the ground found the plants on a path that led to the Henslee residence and found five more marijuana plants in pots near a shop building on the property.

U.S. Marshals bust a move on Utah skin sanitizer company.

Officers with the U.S. Marshals Service have seized all skin sanitizers and skin protectants, including ingredients and components, at Clarcon Biological Chemistry Laboratory’s facility in Roy, Utah, the Food and Drug Administration said. The FDA also warned the public Saturday not to use any Clarcon products because they contain harmful bacteria and are promoted as antimicrobial agents that claim to treat open wounds, damaged skin, and protect against various infectious diseases.

This is why you don’t bring a taser to a gunfight.

A Houston police officer fatally shot a man in Kingwood Saturday night after the suspect grabbed the patrolman’s Taser, pointed it at the officer and threatened to shoot him with it, authorities said. Officer R. Gardiner, who has worked for the department for seven years and patrols the northeast side, was working an extra job as a security officer at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Lake Hills, police said.

Illegal alien sneaks into England by stowing away under bus loaded with Border Agency personnel and is now nowhere to be found.

An illegal immigrant is on the run after smuggling himself into Britain underneath a coach full of Border Agency officers returning from France. The immigration officers – whose job is to stop illegal immigrants entering the country – were oblivious to the stowaway hiding between the fuel tank and the chassis of the coach bringing them through the Channel Tunnel until they arrived at their depot in Folkestone.

Obama administration official shows moment of brilliance as he advocates for more nuclear power plants in this country.

The Obama administration is preparing to push for the renaissance of nuclear power that other (Republican!) administrations have long dreamed about. “I’ve been working on nuclear issues, I’m embarrassed to say, for over 30 years,” said Obama’s Deputy Secretary of Energy, Dan Poneman. ”It’s an opportune moment to take step back and say, ‘Look. If we’re going to build the kind of low-carbon future we need, I don’t see how to get there without significant reliance on nuclear energy.’

This story will make your head explode and wonder how many more millions are pulling this same scam around the country.

To supplement his income at Your Black Muslim Bakery, founder Yusuf Bey hid his paternity of some of his 42 children so their mothers could collect welfare benefits, said three of his women during sworn depositions they gave in a civil lawsuit in 2005. At various times the benefits included medical care, federal housing vouchers, food stamps and cash assistance that the women had to immediately turn over to him, they said. Bey hid his paternity by keeping his name off of some of his children’s birth certificates, a survey of county birth records shows, even though he openly acknowledged them as his children in the daily life of the bakery.

Now this is one picnic I would love to attend.

People from across the state are expected to gather for a family-friendly picnic at Oxford Township’s Seymour Lake Park on Sunday, Aug. 2. “It’s a regular family picnic, the only difference is the people there will be armed,” said John Roshek, an Oxford resident who helped organize the picnic. Quote of the day.

There is absolute frustration across the board. They’re not really confident about any deals, and no one can give them advice about what they should be telling their customers.
