Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell is hoping to take advantage of the death of three police officers at the hand of a deranged lunatic to push for a ban on semi automatic rifles and other draconian gun laws. He, ignorantly or otherwise, refers to the gun the idiot used to kill the officers as an assault rifle which it clearly was NOT and says nobody in this country “needs” one since they aren’t used in a duck blind for hunting or the Olympics for target shooting. That is the respect he has for our Second Amendment rights.
The truth of the matter is less than ten people per state were murdered with rifles in this country in 2007 (.015 per 100,000) and twice as many people slip, fall and die than are killed will all firearms combined. In addition the vast majority of firearm murders in this country are carried out by gangbangers not law abiding gun owners.
Rendell is your typical modern liberal (statist) anti firearm Democrat party hack who will never pass up an opportunity to pimp the deaths of human beings in an effort to achieve their goal which is the total destruction of the Second Amendment. For statists like Rendell the answer to everything is more government dependency and far less individual responsibility and the only way to march forward with the program is to continue to chip away at the rights of all Americans. After Barack Obama’s announcement on live television that he feels marriage is a union between a man and a woman and that he was not one to promote same sex marriage so called celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, real name Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr., took major umbrage at Obama’s stance and went ballistic on his Hollywood trash blog posting a video featuring a vicious foul mouthed attack against the president. Oddly this guy, who’s only apparent claim to fame is accepting the sprinkler pipes of other men into various parts of his body, thinks what he has to say is important but I personally can’t find a reason why anyone would care about his tirade against Obama or for many news channels to pick up and carry the story.
Perez claims he expects the president of the United States to be a uniter not a divider and feels political correctness should rise above the truth every time especially when it comes to what is closest to his heart, gayness.
Saying Obama’s response to the question of gay marriage, “was the worst answer in the history of stuff presidents have ever said, yo!” Hilton went on to claim had he known Obama’s true feelings on the subject he never would have voted for him. In the video posting on his garbage blog Hilton points out how the audience actually booed when Obama expressed his feelings about marriage being strictly between a man and a woman even though just the opposite appears to be true judging by the tape. Sounds like a lot of applause to me.
Perez continued with his excoriation of the president by proclaiming if he were Obama he would have answered the gay marriage question thusly:
“If I was Obama, with half a brain, I would have said I think that is a question that each state should decide for themselves because that’s how our forefathers designed our government. The states rule themselves and then there’s certain laws that are federal. He could have said something along those lines…but he didn’t!”
Evidently Perez is completely unaware that the residents of California have voted against gay marriage every time it appears on the ballot including most recently last November. Proposition 8 was a Constitutional Amendment that stated, “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California” which passed with about the same percentage as Obama’s presidential victory. Did the gay people respect the will of the voting public? No, they and their uber loony lefty supporters in that state went absolutely gonzo marching in the streets, threatening people and hassling political figures in an effort to force the state Supreme Court to overturn this new amendment. So much for the states ruling themselves huh Perez?
Follow along as Perez rips Obama a new one for his views on gay marriage,
Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr’s. family must be so proud of him.
David Kellermann, acting chief financial officer of Freddie Mac, committed suicide in his Hunter Mill Estates home Wednesday morning. Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Mary Anne Jennings tells WTOP Kellermann, 41, police responded to the home after family members called police around 5 a.m. “We were called from inside the house to come investigate an apparent suicide,” Jennings says.
The IRS allowed foreign workers – many of them in the U.S. illegally – to improperly claim nearly $7 billion in child tax credits from 2004 to 2007, a government investigator said Thursday. Most of the credits went to workers who didn’t make enough money to pay any federal income taxes, J. Russell George, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, said in a report. In those cases, the workers received payments from the Internal Revenue Service after filing income tax returns.
A member of a men’s slow-pitch softball team has died after being taken off life support, two days after he was hit in the neck by a ball. Teammates say 24-year-old Alberto Naranjo of Elkhart, Ind., was sliding into home plate during a game Saturday morning when a throw struck him below his left ear. He started to get up, but collapsed.
The 26 U.S. cities with the worst foreclosure problems are concentrated in four states – California, Florida, Arizona and Nevada, a report released Wednesday shows. The report on foreclosures for the first quarter by RealtyTrac Inc. said the highest foreclosure rates were found in Las Vegas, Merced, Calif. and the Cape Coral-Fort Myers area in Florida. Next on the list were the California metro areas of Stockton, Riverside, Modesto, Bakersfield and Vallejo-Fairfield.
The new mortgage, if approved, will replace all of the current mortgages on your home. You will not owe any payments, fees or debts on mortgages you now hold.
You must agree to share both the equity created at the beginning of this new mortgage and a portion of any future appreciation in the value of your home.
The U.S. and Mexico are drawing up plans to dispatch up to 300 former U.S. law enforcement officials to Mexico this year to train thousands of Mexican police investigators in their fight against drug cartels, U.S. officials said. Mexican officials would select about 9,000 Mexican police for training at undisclosed locations there, one U.S. diplomatic and one law enforcement official said. The goal would be to quell corruption and violence fueled by warring drug groups.
Before: (The next time try looking these tin pot dictators directly in the eye Obama especially when they are doing their best to look right through you. When you don’t and keep looking down that is a sign of weakness that every gangbanger on the planet recognizes.)
The Summit of the Americas, a Bill Clinton invention in 1994, has turned into a thug-fest, a showcase for the hemisphere’s bullies to express their contempt for their big, bad neighbor to the north. You know, the nation that values such things as human rights and economic freedom.
So instead of being credited with making an impressive overture to Cuba by lifting some travel restrictions, Obama was lectured by Chavez and Ortega on lifting the U.S. embargo.
Two FBI workers are accused of using surveillance equipment to spy on teenage girls as they undressed and tried on prom gowns at a charity event at a West Virginia mall. The FBI employees have been charged with conspiracy and committing criminal invasion of privacy. They were working in an FBI satellite control room at the mall when they positioned a camera on temporary changing rooms and zoomed in for at least 90 minutes on girls dressing for the Cinderella Project fashion show, Marion County Prosecutor Pat Wilson said Monday.
In the throes of an economic crisis and two wars, does the nation want more headlines about a “Pec-tacular” “Buff Bam”? President Obama appears shirtless in a bathing suit on the cover of May issue of The Washingtonian magazine. The magazine’s excuse? The pec pic illustrates the #2 reason (out of 26) to love living in the nation’s capital: “Our New Neighbor is Hot.” The monthly style/culture publication uses a paparazzi photograph taken during the president-elect’s Christmas vacation in Hawaii last year.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 34% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-two percent (32%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +2. (snip) Overall, 54% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance so far. That’s his lowest total approval rating to date.
A federal appeals court ruled Monday that private citizens can challenge state and local gun laws by invoking the constitutional right to bear arms – the first such ruling in the nation – but upheld a ban on firearms at gun shows at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. The ruling by the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco followed last year’s landmark Supreme Court decision that the Constitution’s Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess guns for self-defense.
Computer spies have broken into the Pentagon’s $300 billion Joint Strike Fighter project — the Defense Department’s costliest weapons program ever — according to current and former government officials familiar with the attacks. Similar incidents have also breached the Air Force’s air-traffic-control system in recent months, these people say. In the case of the fighter-jet program, the intruders were able to copy and siphon off several terabytes of data related to design and electronics systems, officials say, potentially making it easier to defend against the craft.
Hells Angels leaders in the US have ordered their Australian counterparts to restore the gang’s tough reputation by shooting at any rival Comanchero member “on sight”, according to a report. A demand from the bikie gang’s US headquarters also specified that their Australian chapters would be banned from their annual world run next month, the Herald Sun reports.
Patriotic huh? It’s patriotic to pay more taxes because you have worked your rear end off for years and have reached a level in life where you are finally starting to see some of that ROI, a return on those investments of 20 hour work days and four hour sleepless nights…for years?
It’s patriotic to hand over your hard earned money to people like Obama, Biden and a bazillion other government bureaucrats (who have spent a lifetime feeding at the public trough and wouldn’t know a private sector job if it sat in their lap and called them mama) so they can pass it around to those whose multi generational means of financial support has never amounted to more than bi-monthly trips to the local welfare office? That is patriotic? No Mr. Biden that sir is insanity.
Now I certainly don’t begrudge those who have paid into the Social Security system their entire working lives and receive benefits when they become eligible and nobody should but is it patriotic to earn over $250,000 last year and still collect over $6,500 in Social Security Mr. Biden?
And how about those charitable donations there big spender? Less than a thousand bucks to help those in need out of an income of $320,000 in 2007? An average of $369 a year over the last decade in charitable contributions Mr. Biden?
Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. announced last month that Social Security beneficiaries will get one-time $250 stimulus bonus payments beginning in May.
He didn’t mention that he will be one of the recipients.
The annual tax returns for Biden and his wife, Jill, released last week, show he began collecting Social Security benefits in 2008. He became eligible for full benefits in November when he reached age 66.
Social Security beneficiaries will receive their $13 billion share of the $787 billion Obama stimulus package as early as May. Each of more than 50 million Social Security beneficiaries is entitled to $250 under the stimulus measure.
“These folks need the money,” Biden said in announcing the payment schedule. “People are going to be actually spending that money.”
Asked about Biden’s decision to begin collecting benefits, spokeswoman Ann Marie Tomasini issued a brief statement: “Vice President Biden is eligible under the law to collect his full benefits at age 66.”
Biden’s annual Senate salary was $169,300 last year. He will earn $227,300 in 2009 as vice president.

Folks concerned about their Second Amendment rights due to the anti firearm Obama administration can sign up for a free one year limited membership in the NRA right here.
First we hear about the Department of Homeland Security informing law enforcement agencies nationwide that groups of angry white guys were a major threat to cause some serious problems around the country because they really like the Constitution just the way it is, don’t care for the fact that our borders are as wide open as Pamela Anderson’s ankles, don’t care for the fact the government is spending their great great grandkids into oblivion 40 years before they are even born, don’t care for the fact the Obama administration–led by the most liberal former member of Congress who once proclaimed all handguns should be banned–is stocked with the most anti Second Amendment gang we have seen since the Clinton years (oh wait, they are pretty much all retreads from the Clinton administration) and are basically fed up with an overbearing federal government that has kicked state’s rights to the curb. Oh and the report said all these angry white guys are terribly upset that a half black guy is now president of the country.
So just what kind of specific information does this DHS document provide to law enforcement when it comes to these roving packs of angry white guys?
(U) Key Findings
(U//LES) The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has no specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues. The economic downturn and the election of the first African American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment.
(U//LES) Threats from white supremacist and violent antigovernment groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts. Nevertheless, the consequences of a prolonged economic downturn—including real estate foreclosures, unemployment, and an inability to obtain credit could create a fertile recruiting environment for rightwing extremists and even result in confrontations between such groups and government authorities similar to those in the past.
(U//LES) Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning.
(Man if I had a beer for every “rightwing” in this report I’d be one drunk puppy right now…ed)
It looks to me like the DHS has nothing but a big heapin’ steamin’ pile of some extremely vague maybe going on here but of course that should be good enough for a major governmental crack down on these angry white guys shouldn’t it? Continue reading »
NATO warships and helicopters pursued Somali pirates for seven hours after they attacked a Norwegian tanker, NATO spokesmen said Sunday, and the high-speed chase only ended when warning shots were fired at the pirates’ skiff. (snip) NATO forces boarded the skiff, where they found a rocket-propelled grenade, and interrogated, disarmed and released the pirates.
A key witness in a federal probe into passport information stolen from the State Department was fatally shot in front of a District church, the Metropolitan Police Department said yesterday. (snip) The Washington Times reported April 5 that contractors for the State Department had improperly accessed passport information for presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain, which resulted in a series of firings that reached into the agency’s top ranks.
As Tea Parties ensued from coast to coast last week, the Obama administration and their media minions depicted attendees as not understanding that the new president has decreed taxes will be going down for 95 percent of Americans. On Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” Washington Post business columnist Steven Pearlstein let the cat out of the bag: Tea Partiers are right. Taxes are going up. This revelation occurred after host David Gregory said to the Post’s Pulitzer Prize winner, “There may be doubts about President Obama, but he is cutting taxes.” (snip) And one of the things that everyone has to get sort of comfortable with is it’s going up. And Dick [Armey] is right about that, it’s going up. It has to go up.
The Obama administration is watching more than just pirates in Somalia. Officials have been tracking a Somali terrorist group and are weighing whether to strike some of its training camps. The fear is that the group, al-Shabab, could join forces with al-Qaida and target the U.S. A senior government official tells NPR that because the U.S. military is worried about al-Shabab, all options are on the table — including a military strike. The official said the most likely scenario would be an attack from the air, not boots on the ground.
RUDY GIULIANI is declaring war on gay marriage — vowing to use his strong opposition of it against the Democrats if he runs for governor next year. The former mayor, in an extended interview with The Post, also predicted that Gov. Paterson’s high-profile effort to legalize gay marriage would anger many New Yorkers and spark a revolt that could help sweep Republicans into office in 2010.
Overweight people eat more than thin people and are more likely to travel by car, making excess body weight doubly bad for the environment, according to a study from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. “When it comes to food consumption, moving about in a heavy body is like driving around in a gas guzzler,” and food production is a major source of greenhouse gases, researchers Phil Edwards and Ian Roberts wrote in their study, published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.
