I came across an article today that was discussing whether or not women should be registering with the Selective Service. Apparently Obama has taken the position that women should be registering and John McCain feels just the opposite. Personally I don’t feel this country needs to have it’s mothers and daughters involved in a program that could lead to compulsory military combat and see no upside whatsoever with this idea.
Don’t get me wrong, I realize we have thousands of women serving in our military, many in combat roles, but I would like to see our government keep the current system of voluntary participation for females. I realize this view is in conflict with many womens’ rights groups who argue for ‘equality” and men who can find themselves in serious legal trouble and barred from federal jobs and in most cases student loans if they skip the registration process. In fact the consequences for men that fail to sign up with the Selective Service are certainly nothing to just blow off.

Yes it’s true. The John McCain-Sarah Palin supporters are nothing but a bunch of ravenous wolves snapping with bloodied fangs at the red meat dangled before them at the Republican campaign rallies. We know this because our friends in the media and the cool calm collected folks on the left tell us so.
Take John Lewis, a congressional Democrat from Georgia, who is running around trying to compare McCain to George Wallace, a strict segregationist and racist of the first order. Lewis was quoted as saying, “During another period, in the not too distant past, there was a governor of the state of Alabama named George Wallace who also became a presidential candidate. George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.” Conveniently, Lewis failed to point out that Wallace the racist was a fellow southern DEMOCRAT.
Now this is an odd statement coming from someone that McCain has long admired and in fact praised for his role in the civil rights movement. McCain has even stated this past summer that Lewis was one of three men he would regularly consult with and turn to for advice if he were elected president!

I have been following along from a bit of a distance this Obama birth certificate or certification of live birth story that just won’t go away. Some people have tried to make the case that Obama was not born an American citizen or became a citizen of another country relinquishing his U.S. citizenship and is therefor not eligible to be President of the United States. I’ve been skeptical about this only because it would seem if this were true it would have been fleshed out long ago. Then again there is nothing in the Constitution which would have prevented Obama from becoming a U.S. Senator as long as he qualified under Article 1 Clause 3 “No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen” nor as an Illinois state senator as long as he met these requirements, “To be eligible to serve as a member of the General Assembly, a person must be a United States citizen, at least 21 years old, and for the two years preceding his election or appointment a resident of the district which he is to represent” so it’s possible there has never really been a serious investigation into this situation.

At a town-hall event Friday in Minnesota, McCain took the microphone from a woman who had called Obama an Arab. McCain said, “No ma’am, he’s not,” McCain said while campaigning in Minnesota. “He’s a decent family man — citizen — that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues.”
McCain drew boos at the same event when he told a supporter who expressed fear at the prospect of Obama’s election that the Democrat is a “person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States.”
So much for the tough guy image huh Mr. McCain? Way to hand the Barack Obama for president campaign a nice advertising bite so late in the race. Memo to Sarah Palin, please, enough with the “Maverick” talk already as “capitulator” would be seem to be much more apropos of late.

Jerome Corsi, the author of “The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality” a book that reveals Barack Obama in a light that so far hasn’t been shown on the Democratic presidential candidate by the mainstream media, was detained in Kenya today on charges concerning a work permit. Mr. Corsi had planned on promoting his book and making a trip to see Barack Obama’s half brother that lives on a dollar a month and present him with a check for $1000. Money that George Obama said he would more than welcome.
Naturally I became curious when I first heard of the detention knowing of Obama’s ties to Kenya and came across the name of Raila Odinga the leader of the Kenyan government opposition group and presidential candidate of the “Orange Democratic Movement” His motto? “Your Agent for Change.” His platform? To be the champion of the poor, pledging to redistribute the country’s wealth more evenly among the citizens. Sound familiar?

This is what the group claims on their website…
“ACORN is a non-profit, non-partisan social justice organization with national headquarters in New York, New Orleans and Washington, D.C. To maintain independence, ACORN does not accept government funding and is not tax exempt.”
Does not accept federal funding huh? That’s odd considering that just about every bill coming out of Congress the last 20 plus years seems to contain language allocating a chunk of taxpayer money to….ACORN in one form or another. The recent “bailout bill” was shot down the first time around precisely because of the efforts of the House Democrats to ram more of the usual “ACORN pork” into the legislation. In fact the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac bill that George Bush signed back in July contained millions for this group which operates under several different subsidiaries that supposedly approach low income and minority issues separately. Sure, you bet. Often different advocacy groups under the ACORN umbrella share offices and advertise for the same positions in local newspapers. In fact in some cities the “Project Vote” and ACORN phone numbers are exactly the same! Look, these people can do whatever they want because they have the unwavering support of Congressional Democrats, who they work to get re-elected, and if anyone does step up and try to get to the bottom of the garbage these people are up to then they will instantly be branded a racist. ACORN has had the benefit of learning the race baiting game over the years from some of the best, Jessie Jackson Sr. and Al Sharpton, and in fact many years ago after he left Harvard Law School for the Chicago area Barack Obama was asked by leaders of ACORN to help train members and staff.

The other half of this country that sees Barack Obama for exactly what he is have stood back in bewilderment for nearly two years now. This cult like fascination over someone that has accomplished very little of any real substance in his professional life, has a long history of associating with crooks, sleazebags, radicals and race baiters and who’s secretive past can only be somewhat documented by a couple of self authored books is truly baffling.
