Airport baggage thief, getting screwed out of her cut of the stolen items by her partner calls cops to report him, they both get busted.

Two baggage handlers have been busted in what authorities describe as “one of the larger theft rings” ever seen at Oregon’s Portland International Airport. The arrested employees worked for Delta and subsidiary Northwest, and included one supervisor and one baggage handler who had been at the job for at 13 years. The Oregonian newspaper says the latter worker – Jose Trejo Romero – “targeted international flights because the bags usually held more expensive items, according to court documents.” The Associated Press writes “the thefts were discovered early this year when a baggage supervisor (Bridgette Bunnell) reported it to Port of Portland police. The supervisor was in on the thefts, investigators learned, and raised the matter when she was no longer getting her share of the items, according to court affidavits obtained by The Oregonian newspaper.”

Obama’s news conference last night, finished first in the 8pmET hour with a new episode of “Lie to Me.” The drama averaged 7.9 million Total Viewers, according to Nielsen overnights. NBC’s coverage of the Obama newser came in second with 6.7 million Total Viewers.

Harry Reid’s deal with Arlen Specter to get him to switch sides torques a whole bunch of DEMOCRATS.

Senior Senate Democrats are objecting to the deal Majority Leader Harry Reid made with Sen. Arlen Specter, saying they will vote against letting the former Republican shoot to the top of powerful committees after he switches parties. Several Democrats are furious with Sen. Reid (D-Nev.) for agreeing to let Specter (Pa.) keep his seniority, accrued over more than 28 years as a GOP senator. That agreement would allow Specter to leap past senior Democrats on powerful panels — including the Appropriations and Judiciary committees. “I won’t be happy if I don’t get to chair something because of Arlen Specter,” said Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), who sits on the Appropriations Committee with Specter and is fifth in seniority among Democrats, behind Chairman Daniel Inouye (Hawaii) and Sens. Robert Byrd (W.Va.), Patrick Leahy (Vt.) and Tom Harkin (Iowa). “I’m happy with the Democratic order, but I don’t want to be displaced because of Arlen Specter,” she said.

Twenty million illegal aliens in this country and our government deports a native born citizen named Mark Lyttle to Mexico, who sent him to Honduras, who sent him to Guatemala.

Mark Lyttle expected to return home after serving a few months in prison for inappropriately touching a woman’s backside. Instead, he says, the U.S. government deported him to Mexico, Mexican officials deported him to Honduras, and Honduras deported him to Guatemala – even though he is a North Carolina-born U.S. citizen who speaks no Spanish. U.S. immigration officials confirmed this week that they wrongly deported Lyttle, 31, who his family says is mentally ill and suffers from mild retardation, in December after finding him in a North Carolina prison. He and his lawyer say he spent four months bouncing among Latin American prisons and homeless shelters before ending up this month at a U.S. embassy in Guatemala, where officials confirmed his citizenship.

President Barack Obama’s “cap and trade” plan is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that allegedly contribute to global warming. Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, told CNSNews.com that to attain that reduction, it is “likely true” that energy costs for Americans will go up. (snip) In general, under cap and trade, companies that make energy through coal, oil, natural gas, hydroelectric, and other means, are limited – capped – in how much carbon they can emit in their production process. If they exceed the cap, they can buy, i.e., trade, more carbon permits. The money the companies pay for those permits will go to the federal government and be redistributed.

Here’s yet another example of how terrific this socialized health care is that the Democrats would like to bring to this country.

Thousands of kidney cancer patients are likely to lose out on life-prolonging drugs. The NHS rationing body, NICE, has confirmed a ban on three out of four new treatments. It has reversed its position on just one, Sutent, which will now be allowed for patients with advanced cancer. But campaigners who fought NICE’s original blanket ban said this was not enough. They said some patients with heart problems cannot tolerate Sutent.

If government run health care is so great why does Saudi’s crown prince keep coming to the United States for his medical care? After all Europe is a lot closer to home.

Moroccan national television reports that Saudi Crown Prince Sultan has arrived in the north African kingdom after undergoing surgery in the United States. The crown prince, who is also Saudi Arabia’s defense minister, left for treatment in New York in February. In his 80s, he is the half brother of King Abdullah and one of the most powerful figures in oil-rich Saudi Arabia.

The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz has let the cat out of the bag in the Post’s April 27 issue about a regularly scheduled secret media dinner attended by some of the top left-wing journalists in the country. But it isn’t just the lefty scribblers that have attended these secret, off-the-record dinners for these gatherings have each featured a guest. Rahm Emanuel, Sec. of the Treasury Tim Geithner, and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke have all recently had their chance to schmooze the press and guide them with the spin desired by the White House.

Republicans reject Obama’s 3.5 trillion dollar budget but the Democrats, who criticized Bush’s 1.3 trillion dollar deficit, push this Obamination through Congress with a big smile on their collective faces.

Senators voted 53-43 to pass a 3.5 trillion dollar five year budget plan proposed by President Obama. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the same measure earlier in the day. All Republicans opposed the bill. Democrats Evan Bayh of Indiana, Robert Byrd of West Virginia and Ben Nelson of Nebraska opposed the resolution. Sen. Arlen Specter, who is in the purgatory between parties as he trades in his GOP card for a Democratic one, voted against it too.

Joe Biden declares no mass transit for him or his family as long as all those nasty flu bugs are running around loose. Airline, subway, train and bus ticket sales expected to plummet due to the gaffe master’s statement which will probably be retracted in three…two…

Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday that he would not recommend taking any commercial flight or riding in a subway car “at this point” because swine flu virus can spread “in confined places.” A little more than one hour later, Biden rushed out a statement backing off. “I would tell members of my family — and I have — I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places now,” Biden said on NBC’s “Today” show.. “It’s not that it’s going to Mexico. It’s [that] you’re in a confined aircraft. When one person sneezes, it goes all the way through the aircraft. That’s me. …

Obama slobbering Associated Press has a brief moment of clarity. Fact checks many of his claims given during speech in Missouri including the usual “inherited budget deficit” nonsense pointing out he was knee deep in the spending as a U.S. Senator.

“That wasn’t me,” President Barack Obama said on his 100th day in office, disclaiming responsibility for the huge budget deficit waiting for him on Day One. It actually was him — and the other Democrats controlling Congress the previous two years — who shaped a budget so out of balance. And as a presidential candidate and president-elect, he backed the twilight Bush-era stimulus plan that made the deficit deeper, all before he took over and promoted spending plans that have made it much deeper still.
