Suspect in vandalism leftist, not Republican
A suspect in a case of vandalism at the Colorado Democratic headquarters was once a paid campaign worker for a Democratic candidate for the legislature, despite the state party chief having blamed hate-fomented opposition to Democratic health care plans. Maurice Schwenkler, 24, was arrested in Denver on Tuesday on a charge of criminal mischief after windows were smashed at the Democratic offices. Many of the windows displayed posters supporting health care reform. “We ought to be having a serious, conscientious debate about what’s best for the country,” state Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Waak said Tuesday. “Clearly, there’s been an effort on the other side to stir up hate. I think this is the consequence of it.” [I smelled a ‘RAT right off the bat when I first heard about this incident and you know the lamestream media, after initially reporting the vandalism, will not perform any kind of follow up…ed]
Students’ take-home assignment: Census kits
Anyone tempted to ignore the 2010 Census will have a tough time doing it — especially if they have kids in school. The government has launched Census in Schools, an all-out campaign targeting superintendents, principals, teachers, students and, indirectly, parents, as schools open across the nation this month and next. The message: The Census is coming and here’s why everyone should care. [Around my house the adults have always been in charge, not the kids. But then again we do have a lot of “linguistically isolated” (read illegal aliens) people living in this country that the Democrats are desperate to include in the upcoming census…ed]
Obama’s 09 deficit exceeds all eight years of Bush red ink
How much is President Obama boosting federal spending? The Heritage Foundation’s Brian Riedl puts a little perspective on the numbers made public today:
· This year, Washington will spend $30,958 per household, tax $17,576 per household, and borrow $13,392 per household. This spending is not just temporary: President Obama would permanently keep annual spending between $5,000 and $8,000 per household higher than it had been under President Bush. [Yet the idiots on the left keep bawling their eyes out over the focus group developed term “failed economic policies of the Bush administration.” At least true conservatives hammered Bush over his out of control spending, something the liberals will obviously never do with Obama…ed]
Brace yourself: Beer prices are going up
Beer drinkers beware: The cost of a cold one is going up. Brewers across the globe are hiking prices to compensate for lower sales volumes and higher commodity costs. Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewer and maker of Budweiser, announced plans to raise prices Tuesday. “We plan on taking price increases on a majority of volume and in a majority of markets this fall,” Anheuser-Busch InBev said in a statement. “The increase helps cover some input costs.” [Sales tank so the industry raises prices?…ed]
California state garage sale: Many things must go
Well, the countdown is continuing for the Great California Garage Sale this Friday and Saturday. The Golden State is in so much financial distress that it lost its lease and everything must go. Not really, but Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger decided to mark the end of soft news summer days with a sale of surplus, unused or wasteful state property. To enhance interest and bidding, the ex-movie star even autographed the sun visors of some vehicles for sale. [Not a bad idea but won’t raise enough money to pay the cost for half the illegal aliens in prison for a lousy month. Maybe California could just impose a big and permanent wealth tax on all of the uber rich left wing movie stars and entertainers living in the state?…ed]
Obama’s Carousel of Incompetence
According to the Gallup Poll, the Prophet Obama’s job approval is now at its lowest since his coronation. It began at 70 percent. Now it is at 51 percent. Equally glum, his disapproval rating has climbed from 11 percent to 42 percent. (SNIP) My belief, based on reports in the news and from my private network of seasoned agents and provocateurs, is that this White House is a carousel of incompetence. How else do we explain the ravening push on all fronts — health care, the environment, fiscal reform, intelligence reform and a foreign policy of humility and apology? Unsurprisingly, on every front, the president is in trouble. [The 2010 election will be a monumentally important event in which we have what may be our last chance to save this country as we know it and Obama/Congress know it. Let’s hope elections are still part of the American way of life come next year…ed]
