Boys with so called “warrior gene” more likely to join gangs, use weapons.

Boys who have a so-called “warrior gene” are more likely to join gangs and also more likely to be among the most violent members and to use weapons, a new study finds. “While gangs typically have been regarded as a sociological phenomenon, our investigation shows that variants of a specific MAOA gene, known as a ‘low-activity 3-repeat allele,’ play a significant role,” said biosocial criminologist Kevin M. Beaver of Florida State University.

As Lake Michigan ports go, Grand Haven is an angler’s paradise. If People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals gets its way, it also will be home to a lighthouse café — serving faux fish sticks — where patrons learn about the evils of fishing. PETA said in a letter to the National Park Service this week that it wants to take over Grand Haven’s historic twin red lighthouses once they go on a list of surplus properties this year or next. Because PETA is a nonprofit, its bid to maintain the lighthouses could be considered.

NY cops ticket vehicle over and over and over again for weeks all the while a dead body lay in the back seat.

Somebody is launching model rockets near the George Bush airport in Houston and they are coming awfully close to airplanes in flight.

Investigators believe the object that narrowly missed a Continental Express jet a week ago was a civilian-made rocket — described as a white cylinder about 5 to 7 feet long with triangular fins on its tail — rather than a military missile. The description came from debriefing the jet’s pilot and co-pilot who spotted a rocket with a long white vapor trail headed directly toward their cockpit at 16,000 feet shortly after they took off from George Bush Intercontinental Airport about 8 p.m. on May 29, authorities said.

But magistrates warned him he could face jail for risking his son’s life.

Los Angeles police detective arrested for the death of her ex boyfriend’s wife….in 1986.

A well-regarded, veteran Los Angeles Police Department detective was arrested today in connection with the 1986 slaying of her ex-boyfriend’s wife, marking one of the few times in the department’s history that one of its own officers has been accused of murder. Stephanie Ilene Lazarus, 49, was arrested this morning at 8 while working at Parker Center, the LAPD’s downtown headquarters. Police allege that Lazarus beat and fatally shot Sherri Rae Rasmussen, a hospital nursing director, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

Bank Employee's Word Enough To Launch Manhunt For Man Alleged To Have Threatened Obama

zions_bank_visa-copy

Something isn’t quite right about this story but here goes.

On May 19 Daniel Murray walked into a St. George Utah Zions First National bank to open a new savings account with an $85,000 check drawn on an unnamed credit union. Bank employees claim he asked some questions regarding the stability and solvency of the bank while establishing the account and allegedly made derogatory comments concerning the way Barack Obama has handled the economy saying if banks fail and people start losing their money there will be bloodshed and killings in the streets of America. Now this seems to me to be a rather odd statement from someone who is a brand new customer in a bank he knew nothing about to employees he didn’t know from Adam.

Eight days later on May 27, Murray returned to the bank and made an unusual withdrawal request specifically asking for $13,000 in bills, no larger than $50 and with non sequential serial numbers. Surely Murray knew the bank would inform the federal government of the withdrawal via a currency transaction report since the amount was over $10,000. During this transaction bank employees claim Murray made some weird statements about the earth being 94 million miles from the sun and eagles flying in between and how he had traveled for thousands of miles to be there and he knew the banks were all going to fail and people were going to die and the world would fall into chaos…and …and …and. Whew, I guess someone at the bank either recorded or wrote down what Murray was saying because it sounds like it was some truly off the wall stuff. As a grand finale, when Murray was handed his $13,000 he allegedly said to the bank teller, “We are on a mission to kill the president of the United States.”

Whoa! I don’t care who you are or how you feel about Obama’s performance, or lack thereof, in office to this point–this is something serious and the first thing anybody should do after hearing a comment like this is to pick up the phone and get some law enforcement personnel on the line. Oddly this does not appear to be what happened in this case because Mr. Murray returned to the bank the very next day to withdraw the remaining $72,000 he had deposited just nine days prior.

It seems kind of strange we haven’t heard about this until now considering all of this took place at the end of May but there is apparently a manhunt on for this guy and nobody seems to know where he is these days. Obviously we would all know exactly where he was had someone at the bank called the cops the moment the clear and direct threat was made against Mr. Obama.

Law enforcement authorities were quick to point out Murray is the registered owner of at least eight firearms, which is in no way illegal, and is driving around in a 2001 Buick with New York license plates.

Kentucky Church To Host Firearm "Open Carry" Event To Celebrate Fourth Of July

Louisville Kentucky’s New Bethel Church will be sponsoring an “Open Carry Church Service” on Saturday June 27, in celebration of the Fourth of July holiday. This event encourages church members to attend with their unloaded and holstered firearms. The day’s festivities will include a raffle for a free handgun, plenty of patriotic music and some expert advice for firearm owners from local gun shop and shooting range owners.

Pastor Ken Pagano, a former Marine, chaplain for the Louisville Metro Police department and a concealed carry instructor came up with the idea for this first ever event saying he was “basically trying to think a little bit outside the box” to promote “responsible gun ownership and Second Amendment rights.” He said the open carry day will be held on a Saturday because he didn’t want the event to be confused with regular Sunday worship at the Assemblies of God congregation.

Pastor Pagano has said church members will be asked to bring a friend with a firearm and canned goods for donation to the needy. He said all proceeds from the event will be given to charity.

Hmmm. Might be worth a J.A.R.G road trip over to Kentucky just to meet these folks.

AZ Cops On Leave For Flushing Miscarried Fetus Down Motel Room Toilet

Earlier this week several Mesa AZ police officers and fire department personnel were dispatched to a local Motel 6 to investigate the report of a possible miscarriage only to discover a man who soon required arrest on drug related charges and a woman who had obviously miscarried a 12-14 week old four inch fetus.

Inconceivably and inexplicably the decision was made, even after contacting superior officers and with a room full of fire and police department personnel standing there, by an officer or officers to flush the fetus down the motel room toilet.

As a result of this incredibly poor moment of judgment five police officers, including a Lieutenant, are now on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.

More on this story from the eastvalleytribune.com,

Five Mesa police officers have been placed on paid leave pending the outcome of criminal and administrative investigations, one in which Chief George Gascón said it appears the officer used excessive force and another in which an officer flushed a four-inch fetus down a toilet.

Gascón, who said he became aware of both incidents Tuesday afternoon, provided details during a crowded press conference on Wednesday about officer Nicholas Webster, who could be seen on an arrest video shoving a handcuffed man’s head into the rear windshield of a patrol cruiser before repeatedly pushing his face and shoulder into a chain-link fence inside the inmate booking area on May 16.

Gascón also said that on Monday, three officers, including Webster, responded to a call of a possible miscarriage at the Motel 6 at 336 W. Hampton, where they arrested a man on suspicion of drug-related offenses and discovered that a woman in the room apparently had miscarried a four-inch fetus that was an estimated 12 to 14 weeks old.

Mesa fire and police were present in the motel room, and after contacting police supervisors and fire personnel, a decision was ultimately made by an officer or officers to flush the fetus down the toilet, Gascón said.

Thanks To Taxpayers Brooklyn's Homeless Living Mighty Large Indeed

Condos with marble tile floors, granite countertops and closets big enough to toss a twin bed into is where some of Brooklyn’s homeless folks are calling home these days thanks to the taxpayers via city officials.

The 67 unit luxury condominium project, built on what is described as a “fringe neighborhood,” (in other words a little too fancy pants for the area?) was developed by a Mr. Avi Shriki with the hopes of selling prices coming in at between $250,000 and $350,000 per unit. Unfortunately Shriki was unable to attract any buyers interested in paying that kind of money for that particular product in that particular neighborhood even as the real estate market all over the country was going tango uniform.

The brand new building is now a city homeless shelter and property owners in the immediate area are not very happy about it and frankly I can’t see how anyone can blame them. Imagine finally receiving an offer on the house you’ve been trying to sell for the last year and a half but now you must disclose to the potential buyers it is right next door to a homeless shelter instead of that new upscale condo project you were told was going to be standing there. Bye bye buyer.

Now this isn’t some emergency stopgap measure to help some homeless folks briefly on the down and out. This shelter is going to be around for awhile as the developer recently signed a 10 year contract with the non profit Bushwick Economic Development Group which has taken over the management of the building.

So how much is it gonna cost to use these condos as a homeless shelter? Well the city of Brooklyn will pay Bushwick Economic Development Group 90 bucks a day or $2,700 per month per unit, an amount which is said to include social services and job placement assistance. This means the taxpayers will pay $180,900 per month to house the homeless in this building, when full, for a total yearly outlay of some $2,170,800. Just for this one building! Yowsa!

Nobody can disparage those who have taken up residence in these condos, when opportunity knocks you should open up the door and a big two bedroom luxury condo beats the snot out of some cramped toxic FEMA trailer any old day of the week. But for crying out loud $2.2 million dollars a year for this one building?

Man somebody really made out like a bandit on this deal…..huh Mr. Shriki?

Nearly Three Decade Long Law Enforcement Career Gone Over Forwarded Obama Related Email

A twenty seven year career on the job as a dedicated Iowa State Trooper without a single complaint, write-up or disciplinary action is swirling the bowl for Sgt. Rodney Hicok.

Iowa officials are preparing to fire this man for forwarding an email to people he knew a picture of several mugshots of folks from varying ethnic backgrounds who had been arrested while sporting tee shirts proudly displaying their support for Barack Obama during the recent presidential campaign.

obama_mug_shots-copy

This picture was forwarded in the email by Sgt. Hicok with the following comment,

”I’ve seen some unique individuals aka S-HEADS wearing these type shirts myself. He has quite a fan base. Nice to know that the low-lifes are getting involved in politics now.”

That’s it. This is the extent of what was sent and what was said by Sgt. Hicok in the forwarded email sent to people specifically chosen to receive the correspondence as opposed to him posting same on a personal website, forum or anywhere else in the public arena.

The hook? The true “crime” here?

Even though Sgt. Hicok sent the forwarded email while at HOME and OFF DUTY he committed the egregious sin of doing so on a state issued laptop computer.

T-Enterprise Walks Back On Rendition Guantanamo

gitmo-prisoner-copy

There was once a concept for a new Microsoft X-Box game called “Rendition Guantanamo.”

This game was supposedly set in the future, sometime after the U.S. “sold” the base to “Freedom Corporation” run by a bunch of “mercenaries.”

The game begins with players taking on the role of new detainees brought into the prison wearing the trademark orange jumpsuits and restraints. Before they are subjected to enhanced interrogation techniques and evilly wicked scientific experiments (torture of course) they must escape their cells and fight their way out of the camp killing as many prison guards as possible in the process.

T-Enterprise, A Glasgow, Scotland software company has been working on the game for a little over a year and the journey began when they approached a former prisoner, Moazzam Begg, who was held inside Guantanamo Bay for about two years, hoping to tap into his incarceration experience. Initially Begg claimed he was concerned the video game would “trivialize” his time in the camp but apparently warmed up to the idea when the prospect of big money from Middle Eastern purchasers, eager to blast away at *cough* mercenaries, was waved in front of him.

Zarrar Chishti, the firm’s director, said: “We approached Moazzam because it’s very hard for us to know how to design the layout of the prison and he helped. We have had a lot of hate mail about this, mainly from America, saying things like ‘don’t dare put out a game that shows them killing our soldiers,’ but no U.S. or British soldiers get killed in it. The only ones being killed are mercenaries.”

Yeah sure.

It’s obvious what T-Enterprise was hoping to accomplish here which was to continue to foment anger and hatred towards the U.S. over the GITMO facility, especially in the Muslim world….and make a big bloody pile of cash off the “game” while they were at it. Whoa! I wonder how much of his R&D funding came from the Obama administration? Just kidding of course.

I have been following this story for awhile and low and behold the pressure seems to have gotten to Zarrar Chishti and his company because they released this statement today:

Official Statement Regarding Rendition: Guantanamo – 3 June, 2009

In recent days, much has been made of the involvement of T-Enterprise in relation to an X-Box 360 game entitled Rendition: Guantanamo. As a reputable and highly regarded firm amongst professionals and clients alike, we would like to take this opportunity to clarify a few issues that have emerged in the wake of press coverage in the United States.

Unfortunately, much of the speculation regarding the game itself made by various publications and websites has been inaccurate and ill informed. Based on a simple teaser trailer that actually revealed little of the game, many conclusions were reached that have absolutely no foundation whatsoever. It was never designed to be “propaganda” or “a recruiting tool for terrorism”. Neither was it designed to glamorise terrorism as has been reported.

First and foremost, the main character was NOT Moazzam Begg. Instead, his name was Adam. He happened to be involved in a case of mistaken identity and so was never a terrorist. T-Enterprise is against all forms of terrorism and would never seek to advocate otherwise. Furthermore, Guantanamo was to be a mercenary run institution and so there would have been NO American military personnel killed within the game. Again, we support the British and American troops that fight the war against terrorism to make the world a safer place and would not make a game that said otherwise.

Having clarified our position on terrorism, I would now like to refute all suggestions that the game was in any way linked to Al Qaeda. T-Enterprise has never had and would never have a link to Al Qaeda in any way, shape or form. Furthermore, we would certainly not facilitate a means of funding for any group that undertook terrorist activities. The game was simply designed to be an action video game that adults could enjoy.

However, as a direct result of the extreme reaction that the game and its popular misconceptions have provoked, T-Enterprise has decided to pull out of the project and will not be completing Rendition: Guantanamo.

Should you have any questions regarding this statement then please contact our press office for clarification.

Zarrar Chishti

Director, T-Enterprise

Condo HOA Threatens Marine Veteran Over Military Stickers On Vehicle

Outrage!

A Dallas TX area condo homeowners association board has threatened disabled 14 year U.S.M.C. veteran Frank Larison, who has lived in the complex for eight years, with fines and the towing of his vehicle because of the military stickers he has placed on the back of his Chevy HHR. The HOA president sent Larison a letter demanding he remove or cover up these stickers described as “advertisements,” which are prohibited under the organization’s rules, or have his car towed away at his expense. In addition the letter informed him he will be liable for any future enforceable incidents with fines of $50 per pop.

What a good time it would be to track down the little gutless left wing military veteran hater in the condo complex who instigated this action.
