Obama Chooses Leon Panetta As CIA Director. Did I Hear That Right?

1-05-09

In yet another bizarre twist to the PEBO saga Obama has tagged the 70 year old Leon Panetta to be the new CIA director, apparently unaware of all the criticism leveled at the 72 year old John McCain who many felt would keel over and croak the day after he became president, if “selected.”

Panetta? What does this guy know about the intelligence world? So he was Bill Clinton’s chief of staff, that is some qualification? It’s bad enough a little over half this country stuck a clueless newbie nitwit into the top job but did these idiots ever stop to think about the impact of that decision on down the line? I would ask one of these clowns what they were thinking but they are all back to their X-Boxes, MTV and jumping off house roofs into foot deep inflatable swimming pools.

As I see all of these old Clinton era retreads getting soaked in solution to bring them back to life as members of Obama’s staff I can’t help but wonder what the Hillary groupies are thinking right now. Change? Change my ass. How about dropping the old Chevy in reverse and hitting the gas?

US Constitution, Article II, Section 1

“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

That’s it. That’s all there is to it as far as the eligibility requirements to run for and hold the office of President of the United States.

No candidate background checks.

No spousal background check.

No birth certificate checks.

No verification of anything.

I guess the founding fathers figured the future populace would be bright enough to ensure that anyone with an untoward history would not make it all the way to the top so they didn’t spell it out to a ‘T’ in the Constitution. Too bad they didn’t, dammit.
