Sarah Palin Punts Pay Bump Meanwhile U. S. Congressional Members Will Bank Extra $4,700 Come January

12-18-08

The Alaska State Officers Compensation Commission has recommended raises for many state office holders including Governor Sarah Palin. The proposed increase would raise the governor’s salary from $125,000 a year to $150,000. Ktuu.com reports,

Palin spokesman Bill McAllister said Wednesday that if the Legislature submits legislation for a raise, Palin will not accept the money.

Instead, if the raise is approved, she will subtract the difference from her current salary and donate it to charity or find a way to redirect the funds for the benefit of others, McAllister said.

Of course the liberal pinheads will call this a political stunt apparently ignorant to the fact she is not running for any office and still retains one of the highest if not the highest governor approval ratings in the nation. Mean while their guy in Illinois, Blagojevich, is still twisting in the wind over his federal corruption complain, their guy in New York just jacked taxes through the roof, their gal in Michigan has an unemployment rate damn near 50% higher than the national average, their guy in California has screwed that place up so bad they may never get out of the hole (yes I will call Schwarzenegger a liberal…he blames Republicans for CA’s financial mess when it is clearly the fault of the majority Democrats and has been for years and he thinks the gay rights supporters should take their case to the Supreme Court since they failed at the ballot box yet again. This guy is a Republican like Michael Bloomberg is a Republican….NOT!) and so on and on and on.

Obama Inauguration Requires 11,500 Military Personnel-4000 Police Officers

12-18-08

This is some presidential inauguration security contingent I’ll tell you! 4,000 police officers from 96 agencies, 11,500 military personnel and an undisclosed number of Secret Service agents will be swarming all over Washington D.C. when Obama is sworn is as the next President of the U.S.

I have no idea who’s decision it really was to assemble this massive number of law enforcement and military people for the occasion but at first blush I would have to ask, a little over the top fellas or what? I realize Obama’s head is as big around as the moon and his ego has no bounds but this is ridiculous. I could understand if it was a Republican president elect needing this level of protection as the left wing lunatics in this country love nothing more than disrupting any event involving the GOP but let’s be honest, conservatives are grown ups and don’t go around acting like juvenile hooligans destroying stuff and getting into fights with the fuzz.

So what is the deal? According to the chicagotribune.com the U.S. military will be on “high alert” with increased air defenses and chemical attack experts on hand. I presume it’s in case Russia decides to attempt a surprise takeover of the country at precisely the same time Obama gets sworn in.

Iraqi Shoe Thrower Gains Fame And Following In U. S. As Codepink Dimbulbs Become Giddy With Glee

12-17-08

The world is momentarily in love with someone other than Obama and all it took was throwing a couple of size 10s at George Bush’s head. That’s right folks the guy that winged his wingtips at the President when he was making a farewell speech in Iraq the other day is not only a hero to lots of folks in the Arab world he even has some people in this country pinning his picture up on their bedroom walls in adoration.

People such as the George Soros funded codepink anti war gang of clueless nitwits. Past history, facts, reality and common sense aside this group of people, who, if they were in charge of this country would simply hand over the keys to Iran tomorrow, decided to hold a little solidarity rally in Washington in honor of Iraqi journalist Muntader al-Zaidi for throwing his shoes at our Commander in Chief.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In solidarity with an Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at George W. Bush at a Baghdad press conference Sunday, peace activists will gather outside the White House with bags of shoes representing Iraqis and U.S. soldiers who have died since the Bush Administration’s illegal invasion of Iraq.

They aim to show support for Iraqi journalist Muntader al-Zaidi, who hurled his shoes at President Bush while he spoke at the conference on his “surprise” visit to discuss the war. Al-Zaidi is currently being held by Iraqi police and questioned on his actions. The peace activists are calling on the Iraqi government to release al-Zaidi without charges and have set up a fund to support him and his family.”

“It’s outrageous that al-Zaidi could get two years in prison for insulting George Bush, when Bush is directly responsible for the deaths of 1.5 million Iraqis and 4,200 U.S. troops, and 5 million displaced Iraqis,” says Medea Benjamin of CODEPINK. “The one who should be in jail is George Bush, and he should be charged with war crimes.”

Jesse Jackson Jr., An Undercover Brutha?

12-16-08

It seems that the son of the infamous Jesse Jackson, who once expressed a desire to violently remove Barack Obama’s “tool kit”, may have been laying a little 007 on the embattled Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

CNN article:

Jackson, Jr. an informant to Blago investigations

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (CNN) — Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. — who was cited in a criminal complaint against Rod Blagojevich — has been an informant for at least a decade with the U.S. Attorney’s office, and has informed on the embattled governor of Illinois, though not in the case currently under investigation, Jackson spokesman Kenneth Edmonds told CNN Tuesday.

In addition, two sources close to Jackson told CNN that, in 2002, Blagojevich — then running for governor of Illinois — solicited a $25,000 campaign donation from Jackson, which he did not get.

Politicians Shredding The Constitution On A Daily Basis. No End To This Practice In Sight.

12-13-08

“Everyone in government takes an oath to uphold the Constitution, but few do so. Beginning with John Adams, and proceeding to Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, and George W. Bush, congress has enacted and the President has signed laws that have criminalized political speech, suspended Habeas Corpus, compelled support for war, forbade the freedom of contract, allowed the government to spy on Americans without a search warrant, and use tax payer dollars to shore up failing private banks.

All of this legislation is so obviously in conflict with the plain words of the Constitution, that one wonders how Congress gets away with it.”

“Congress has written over 4,000 criminal laws, that make up over one million pages of text. And, the law presumes that we understand all of it.

Does the Congress recognize any limits on it’s ability to legislate whatever it wants? Yes, whatever it can get away with.”

Illinois Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich Arrested By F.B.I. On Corruption Charges. Imagine That.

12-09-08

What in the world is it with Illinois politics? Since the 70’s three of the state’s former governors have spent time in the big house on various charges that all seem to swirl around the corrupt political atmosphere in that state.

Otto Kerner: Served from 1961 to 1968 – Kerner was convicted on bribery, tax evasion and other counts in 1973. He was convicted of arranging favorable horse racing dates as governor in return for getting horse racing association stock at reduced prices.

Dan Walker: Served from 1973 to 1977 – Walker pleaded guilty to bank fraud, misapplication of funds and perjury in 1987 though the charges were not related to his service as governor.

George Ryan: Served from 1999 to 2003 – Ryan was convicted of corruption in 2006 for steering state contracts and leases to political insiders while he was Illinois’ secretary of state and then governor and is currently serving out his sentence of six and a half years.

Rod Blagojevich: Was elected in 2002 on a promise to clean up state government. His predecessor was Republican Governor George Ryan who is now in jail for his own corruption conviction. “Blago,” under investigation for years was arrested this morning on (pdf)federal corruption charges. Oddly, even though he knew he was being investigated, he went before the media challenging anyone to go right ahead and tape his conversations.

“I don’t believe there’s any cloud that hangs over me. I think there’s nothing but sunshine hanging over me,” the governor said. I should say if anybody wants to tape my conversations, go right ahead, feel free to do it. I appreciate anybody who wants to tape me openly and notoriously, and those who feel like they want to sneakily, and wear taping devices, I would remind them that it kind of smells like Nixon and Watergate.”

Wealth Redistribution, Pirate Style!

12-03-08

What in the hell is going on with all of this piracy nonsense off the coast of Somalia? This dirt poor country has been essentially ungoverned since the early 90’s and by all appearances pretty much anything goes with the people that inhabit that hellhole. For months we have been hearing reports of pirate thugs zipping up and down the coastline in their little speedboats looking for then hijacking huge ships that happen to come within striking range then releasing them when the mega million dollar ransoms are met by the ship’s owners via insurance companies.

This is nuts! Why in the hell aren’t these bozos getting blown out of the water every time they get close to these ships? This isn’t rocket science. You see a small boat loaded up with a handful of scrawny dudes that happen to be armed to the teeth and you cut loose with a hailstorm of well aimed 50 caliber gunfire. Kill the perps. Sink the boat. Burial at sea. Fill out some form. Mission accomplished. Why does this sound so easy yet nothing seems to be getting done towards resolving this problem?

Obama Voters Clueless As A Stack Of Old New York Times Papers.

11-18-08

Before the presidential election Howard Stern decided to pull a brief “man on the street” segment and had one of his staff ask a few people, that stated they were supporters of Obama, some questions just to see how up to speed they were on the issues.

Stunningly clueless on the candidate’s stances these dolts were obviously supporting Obama based solely and simply……on skin color.

Good Lord Could We Really Use Ronald Reagan Right Now.

11-09-08

A great man indeed. Many under the age of 40 probably never really had a chance to know President Reagan, someone who truly loved this country. After this last election I see many Republicans wondering what to do and how to go about getting back on track. Here’s the answer. Long video but worth the time.

Proposition 8 Protesters Target Wrong Groups.

11-09-08

So Proposition 8 passes in California and the gay folks and their supporters blow a gasket. The question is, why? They must have known it was coming as Californians have shot this gay marriage stuff down every time it comes up for a vote. This latest attempt to force the government of that state to listen to the will of the people is actually a state constitutional amendment and reads, “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” The last time the California citizens said no to gay marriage their wishes were overturned by the state Supreme Court hence the amendment route this time.

Check out the map for a visual of how the counties voted for the Prop 8 amendment. Green=Yes.

Both sides of the issue spent roughly the same amount of money trying to convince voters to see the issue from their respective perspectives and there were complaints about competing advertisements coming from both camps but I think this one from the “No folks” was just a bit over the top:

Our political process allows everyone to present their best effort to win over the people and if one side fails to make the case they simply have to try harder next time. Why is that such a difficult concept for the people coming from the liberal end of the political spectrum to understand?
