A Christmas Greeting From A REAL American President

Ah the good old days…

In contrast to the elegant manner in which former president Ronald Reagan wished Christmas blessings on the people of this country, Barack Hussein Obama was considering celebrating a “non religious” Christmas this year according to his White House social secretary Desirée Rogers, a woman under fire for allowing a couple of knuckleheads to crash a state dinner recently given for the prime minister of India. Rogers decided she would break with previous White House tradition by inviting herself to the state dinner when she should have been at the door making sure only guests who were supposed to be there had entry and close proximity to the president.

nytimes.com–Heads turned in the nation’s capital last January when a glamorous corporate executive from Chicago named Desirée Rogers arrived. (SNIP) When former social secretaries gave a luncheon to welcome Ms. Rogers earlier this year, one participant said, she surprised them by suggesting the Obamas were planning a “non-religious Christmas” — hardly a surprising idea for an administration making a special effort to reach out to other faiths. [Reaching out to other faiths my ass. More like groveling at the feet and licking the boots of America hating muslims…ed]

The lunch conversation inevitably turned to whether the White House would display its crèche, customarily placed in a prominent spot in the East Room. Ms. Rogers, this participant said, replied that the Obamas did not intend to put the manger scene on display — a remark that drew an audible gasp from the tight-knit social secretary sisterhood. (A White House official confirmed that there had been internal discussions about making Christmas more inclusive and whether to display the crèche.)

Yet in the end, tradition won out; the executive mansion is now decorated for the Christmas holiday, and the crèche is in its usual East Room spot….

Not only were the Obamas planning on “celebrating” a “non religious” Christmas, whatever the hell that means, they also refuse to give their children Christmas or birthday gifts.

telegraph.co.uk–In a magazine interview Obama and his wife Michelle revealed that one of their steadfast house rules is not giving Christmas or birthday presents to Malia, 10, and Sasha, seven.

The couple explained that they spend “hundreds” on birthday slumber parties and want to “teach some limits”. Santa Claus is still permitted to deliver seasonal gifts however…..

“Seasonal gifts from Santa Claus?” What the heck are “seasonal gifts?” Around my house the only time Santa Claus makes an appearance is on Christmas Day. And note how tight Mr. Obama is with his own money yet he has no problem blowing billions of our tax dollars without batting an eye. Typical liberal.

So really, what’s the deal with these people?

cnsnews.com–As of Tuesday, three days before Christmas, the White House did not know if President Barack Obama would be attending church to celebrate Jesus’ birth.

During his first year in office, Obama has not regularly attended a Washington-area church. He left his Chicago church in 2008 when its outspoken pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, became a liability to his presidential campaign.

“I don’t know what the president’s schedule is. As I mentioned at the very beginning, some of that is up in flux,” White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said when CNSNews.com asked if the president would attend church on Christmas….

No, REALLY! What the hell is up with this guy?

washingtontimes.com–President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning.

All Mr. Obama will do for the National Day of Prayer, which is Thursday, is sign a proclamation honoring the day, which originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in May for the observance.

For the past eight years, President George W. Bush invited selected Christian and Jewish leaders to the White House East Room, where he typically would give a short speech and several leaders offered prayers.

Obama White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that the president is simply reverting back to pre-Bush administration practice.

“Prayer is something the president does every day,” he said. “We’re doing a proclamation, which I know that many administrations in the past have done.”

Pressed by reporters as to the lack of a formal ceremony, Mr. Gibbs said the proclamation was Mr. Obama’s choice.

“That’s the way the president will publicly observe National Prayer Day – privately, he’ll pray as he does every day,” Mr. Gibbs said.

Shirley Dobson, chairwoman of the National Day of Prayer Committee, said the group was “disappointed in the lack of participation by the Obama administration”…..

Funny how he can skip out on the National Day of Prayer and kick Christmas to the curb so as to not “offend” any other religion here in this overwhelmingly CHRISTIAN nation but he sure had no problem going on television and wishing muslims happy Ramadan back in August and boy does he sure know a lot about that particular muslim holiday. In fairness, he did give a two and a half minute Rosh Hashanah shout out to those of the Jewish persuasion a few months ago but where is the 2009 Christmas blessings from the president to the citizens of this country? I can’t seem to locate that video anywhere. Does it exist? Anyone? Help!
