Obama, Congressional Cronies Poised To Screw Clueless Public With Cap And Trade Ripoff

John Ziegler was definitely on to something when he put together his documentary, Media Malpractice, How Obama Got Elected, which exposed just how stunningly clueless voters are when asked simple questions concerning political issues in this country.

Rasmussen Reports has just released polling information indicating only 24% of the respondents, when given the opportunity to pick from three choices, were able to identify “cap and trade” as an environmental issue as opposed to Wall Street regulation or another grand scam, government regulated health care. The majority, a full 30% of those polled, had absolutely no idea where to go with this cap and trade stuff even when offered the multiple choices.

God help us who actually pay attention to what is happening to this country.

From Rasmussen Reports,

The gap between Capitol Hill and Main Street is huge when it comes to the so-called “cap-and-trade” legislation being considered in Congress. So wide, in fact, that few voters even know what the proposed legislation is all about.

Given a choice of three options, just 24% of voters can correctly identify the cap-and-trade proposal as something that deals with environmental issues. A slightly higher number (29%) believe the proposal has something to do with regulating Wall Street while 17% think the term applies to health care reform. A plurality (30%) have no idea.

Democrats are pushing the legislation on Capitol Hill, but Democrats around the country are a bit less likely than Republicans and voters not affiliated with either party to know that the concept has something to do with the environment.

To the 76% of the people who live in America and have no idea what this cap and trade garbage is all about please allow me to lend a hand.

Right out of the chute the cost of retrofitting all power plants around the country to meet the completely arbitrary and severely restrictive emission requirements will naturally be passed on to every consumer resulting in higher home energy bills not to mention the hit we will all suffer when businesses in America pass their increased costs on to us.

In addition, under this cap and trade nonsense, all energy producing companies, no matter how they generate the electricity that powers our homes and businesses, will be capped or limited in the amount of “carbon” they are permitted to emit during their production process. If, no wait WHEN, they exceed the capped amount because those amounts will be set so low by the government as to ensure the desired tax revenue stream, they will be required to purchase or trade “carbon permits” from so called less polluting companies. The money paid for these permits will flow to the federal government (whoa, never saw that one coming) and from there will be redistributed as Obama and his cronies see fit. In other words this is nothing but a humongous taxing scheme that will cause the cost of energy to go through the roof for the productive members of our society while the rest will no doubt get the usual free ride.

There’s no need to take my word for how much your utility bills will go up under cap and trade when we have Obama himself spelling it out for us.

Oh and we can forget about new power plants being built to accommodate the continued and unabated flow of people into the U.S. from other countries.
