Oklahoma City Police Pull Man Over For Anti-Obama Sign

A man minding his own business and merely driving down the street was pulled over last week by an Oklahoma City police officer not for a traffic violation or suspicion of lifting a pack of gum from a corner convenience store but for a non-pro Obama sign displayed in the vehicle’s rear window. This must have been some sign to get pulled over by the police huh? The offending message?

An Oklahoma City police officer wrongly pulled over a man last week and confiscated an anti-President Barack Obama sign the man had on his vehicle.

The officer misinterpreted the sign as threatening, said Capt. Steve McCool, of the Oklahoma City Police Department, and took the sign, which read “Abort Obama, not the unborn.”

Chip Harrison said he was driving to work when a police car followed him for several miles and then signaled for him to pull over.

“I pulled over, knowing I hadn’t done anything wrong,” Harrison said in a recent phone interview.

When the officer asked Harrison if he knew why he had been pulled over, Harrison said he did not.

“They said, ‘It’s because of the sign in your window,'” Harrison said.

“It’s not meant to be a threat, it’s a statement about abortion,” Harrison said.

He said he disagrees with the president’s position on abortion.

“I asked the officer, ‘Do you know what abort means?'” Harrison said. “He said, ‘Yeah, it means to kill.’ I said, ‘No, it means to remove or terminate.”

Now in this segment Chip Harrison says the cop followed him for several miles before pulling him over. Was this officer seeking permission from a higher up to not only pull Harrison over but confiscate his sign too or was this simply a personal decision? It didn’t end with the taking of the sign, the officer also told him an investigation was being launched to determine if he was a potential threat to the president.

The officers confiscated Harrison’s sign and gave him a slip of paper that stated he was part of an investigation.

Harrison said he later received a call from a person who said he was a lieutenant supervisor for the Internal Investigations Department and wanted to know his location and return his sign to him. According to Harrison, the supervisor said the Secret Service had been contacted on the matter and had told them the sign was not a threat to the president.

Harrison was asked if he would like to file a complaint. He said he was not sure but would take the paperwork, just in case.

But his run-in with the law wasn’t over yet.

“The Secret Service called and said they were at my house,” Harrison said.

After talking to his attorney, Harrison went home where he met the Secret Service.

“When I was on my way there, the Secret Service called me and said they weren’t going to ransack my house or anything … they just wanted to (walk through the house) and make sure I wasn’t a part of any hate groups.”

Harrison said he invited the Secret Service agents into the house and they were “very cordial.”

“We walked through the house and my wife and 2-year-old were in the house,” Harrison said.

He said they interviewed him for about 30 minutes and then left, not finding any evidence Harrison was a threat to the president.

A guy gets a walk through of his house by the Secret Service because some cop misinterpreted his message about a president who’s position on abortion he doesn’t agree with?

Last year a Lufkin Texas woman found herself in a similar position when an Obama campaign staffer called her and asked her to vote for him. The woman, Jessica Hughes, told the caller she had no intention of voting for Obama because, “Your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the state Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets. I think you should find something better to do with your time.” Hughes then hung up on them.

Hughes was referring to an abortion bill that failed to pass the Illinois state Senate in 2005, which Obama opposed because he said it would have undermined the Supreme Court’s ‘Roe v. Wade’ decision.

Someone connected to the staffer (or perhaps it was the staffer?) quickly contacted the Secret Service but told them Hughes said, “I will never support Obama and he will wind up dead on a hospital floor.”

Hughes was understandably upset when out of the blue Secret Service agents showed up at her home conducting an investigation based solely on an unhappy Obama phone bank employee who probably felt a little dissed when they got the phone hung up in their ear during a conversation that apparently was unrecorded by the Obama campaign.

These people are now on record with the federal government showing they were contacted by the Secret Service in regards to a threat on the president of the United States based on some seriously flimsy observations and information.

So this is how it is going to be in this country with Obama as president?

Well I suppose it is as long as there are flipping idiots like these running around.

List enemy license plates here

Ok, if you see a car with a bumper sticker or anything about freedom or liberty or hatred for taxes or one of those “nobamba” bumper stickers or anything that is against the government or Obama, do what you can to mark down the license plate number. Maybe the make and model of the car, I bet we might be able to get a statistical probability based on make and model to just go after all of a certain type of car. The government will have need for such a list pretty soon.

I saw one this morning so I’ll start the list:

License Plate: XXXXXX (deleted by me -ed) – Texas
Silver Cadillac Escalade
Infraction: Ron Paul 2008 bumper sticker and a little “don’t tread on me” sign.

I wonder who has stuffed into these people’s simple little minds that the government would want a list of vehicles with Ron Paul or don’t tread on me stickers?
