On 2-5-09, "Economy In Crisis, Every Day Counts!"–Obama. On 2-15-09, White House Dampens Stimulus Expectations Now That It Has Passed Congress

2-15-09

Ten days ago Barack Hussein Obama wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post addressing the urgent need for the passage of the massive so called Economic Recovery Act, stimulus package or as many people of this country like to call it–the double bacon wrapped ham stuffed spend-ulus bill.

Let’s take a look at what he had to say about this Obamanation a week and a half ago shall we?

The Action Americans Need

By now, it’s clear to everyone that we have inherited an economic crisis as deep and dire as any since the days of the Great Depression. Millions of jobs that Americans relied on just a year ago are gone; millions more of the nest eggs families worked so hard to build have vanished. People everywhere are worried about what tomorrow will bring.

What Americans expect from Washington is action that matches the urgency they feel in their daily lives — action that’s swift, bold and wise enough for us to climb out of this crisis.

Because each day we wait to begin the work of turning our economy around, more people lose their jobs, their savings and their homes. And if nothing is done, this recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse.

That’s why I feel such a sense of urgency about the recovery plan before Congress. With it, we will create or save more than 3 million jobs over the next two years, provide immediate tax relief to 95 percent of American workers, ignite spending by businesses and consumers alike, and take steps to strengthen our country for years to come.

This plan is more than a prescription for short-term spending — it’s a strategy for America’s long-term growth and opportunity in areas such as renewable energy, health care and education. And it’s a strategy that will be implemented with unprecedented transparency and accountability, so Americans know where their tax dollars are going and how they are being spent.

In recent days, there have been misguided criticisms of this plan that echo the failed theories that helped lead us into this crisis — the notion that tax cuts alone will solve all our problems; that we can meet our enormous tests with half-steps and piecemeal measures; that we can ignore fundamental challenges such as energy independence and the high cost of health care and still expect our economy and our country to thrive.

I reject these theories, and so did the American people when they went to the polls in November and voted resoundingly for change. They know that we have tried it those ways for too long. And because we have, our health-care costs still rise faster than inflation. Our dependence on foreign oil still threatens our economy and our security. Our children still study in schools that put them at a disadvantage. We’ve seen the tragic consequences when our bridges crumble and our levees fail.

Every day, our economy gets sicker — and the time for a remedy that puts Americans back to work, jump-starts our economy and invests in lasting growth is now.

Sounds like a pretty darned pressing issue now doesn’t it? I mean every day it doesn’t get passed by the Democrat owned Congress plunges our country deeper and deeper into an unrecoverable economic abyss says the guy who has never run a business in his life and arguably has never had a real job until now. His days as a community organizing rabblerouser notwithstanding of course.

Laughingly this fraud makes a comment about voters going to the polls in November in support of his platform based on the lies he spewed on a daily basis yet he fails to notice the truly overwhelming number of now wide awake citizens that do not like the direction his administration has taken since January 21st especially when it comes to this taxpayer funded payback-to-Democrat-supporters-and-dependents-so-they-keep-voting-Democrat-for-years-to-come legislation.

Obama got his wish when the bill passed yesterday with only three bought off Republicans voting yea and not a single Congressional member even reading the thing.

A mere 24 hours later, guess what?

Well just like they did after the election all of a sudden, AFTER the Democrats slammed this bill through both houses of Congress, spokespeople for Mr. Obama immediately started lowering the bar, downplaying expectations for the bill. You know, the old “hey folks don’t get too excited because very little will be seen as a result of this thing getting signed into law for quite some time.”

Reuters reports:

White House dampens stimulus expectations

President Barack Obama’s aides warned Americans on Sunday not to expect instant miracles from the $787 billion economic stimulus bill he will sign this week, but said it would help eventually.

Obama is due to sign the bill passed last week by Congress in Denver on Tuesday. It was the first major legislative victory of his young presidency, which could rise or fall with its success or failure.

“There will be signs of activity very quickly,” David Axelrod, the White House senior adviser, said on “Fox News Sunday.” “But it’s going to take time for that to show up in the statistics. The president has said it’s likely to get worse before it gets better.”

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs used similar language on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

“I don’t think there’s any doubt that we’ve seen this economy has gotten worse just in the last few months. The acceleration in job loss probably means that this economy is going to get worse before it gets better,” he said.

This administration knows full well the economy will start to recover eventually on it’s own once all of the deliberately planned fear inducing rhetoric stops. They know it for a fact. The hope is that the recovery dovetails nicely with the timeframe of distributing the funds built into this phony bill just in time to take credit before the 2010 election and then on to 2012. “See everyone. It worked! Vote more Democrats into office so we can really finish you guys off with an overwhelming majority that can finally pass the kind of legislation we had no chance of ramming through before. You know like the dismissal of the Second Amendment!” (stay tuned for an article revolving around Bobby Rush’s H.R. 45 coming soon)

That is why there is little to nothing to “stimulate” the economy anytime soon in this bill and why they deliberately waited until after it slithered through Congress to come clean with the fact that the legislation will do little to solve any problems in the immediate future.

This is a great example of why employers always conduct background checks before hiring people for extremely important positions within their company. Normally we depend on the media to do this job when it comes to our politicians but alas we all know how well that worked out with Obama now don’t we?
