Sarah Palin is making their collective heads explode. Keep it up Governor.

9-19-08

It has been very interesting sitting back watching the response from the Democrats and the liberals since Sarah Palin was announced as the Republican vice presidential nominee. Normally speaking every person that decides to enter the meat grinder of political life should expect to get a pretty thorough examination of their life from the media and especially their opponent. Any funky stuff in their background will be quickly discovered and no matter the degree of said funkiness it will be pounced upon and the entire world will know about it within minutes. That’s the way the program works these days.

As we all learned during this particular presidential election, the media has a tendency to play favorites. I know it may be shocking to some but the fact that those tasked with informing the public during this election cycle actually tend to lean pretty heavily in the direction of the Democrats and it has finally been exposed. Now in all honesty many of us have known about this for quite some time but trying to shout it out and get heard was about as futile an exercise as getting the kids to hit the light switch when they walk out of a room. Let’s take a short but forceful stroll through this subject shall we?

Unless you have been teeing up golf balls on the dark side of the moon the last several weeks the brutal venomous (caution, video contains very bad language but that’s typical from these wacko liberals) attacks on Palin and her family are probably pretty well known. The fact that she is a woman apparently does not matter to the human debris that dove right in with the assaults literally from the moment her name was announced. To say some of the garbage these childish lunatic liberals were throwing about concerning Palin’s family, especially her children, was despicable would be a grotesque understatement. I have no desire to give any kind of validity to the nonsense by writing about it in this article but suffice it to say I have never seen this brand of vitriol against a candidate for office in all my years of following elections. For those so inclined a list of Sarah Palin rumors and the truth about them can be viewed here and here. Of course debunking the slop spewed daily by those on the left doesn’t diminish the onslaught of their lies. On the contrary rarely does a day go by without some new and totally ridiculous story pop up then get fed to the lapdog press by the hate filled left wing bloggers. There was a time when reporters actually got off their asses and hit the streets in pursuit of facts and figures for their stories. It appears these days they just hit their web browser refresh button while logged into the famously flawed online landfill, the daily kos site. If you would like to see a terrific display of the intolerance and unrestrained hatred of the liberals stop on by that website some afternoon.

So what is it that really fuels the rage these libocrats have against Sarah Palin? What has caused the so called “women’s rights” organizations to suddenly clam the hell up? I’m not talking crickets here folks I’m saying these groups are so quiet you can literally hear air bouncing off the walls. One of the largest groups that purport to be interested in all things pertaining to the betterment of women in this country is the National Organization of Women or N.O.W. If you click on the “about” link on their home page what you get is the real story of this organization which proves what a misnomer the name of this group really is. This organization is not an advocacy group for and about “women”, it’s sole mission is to push forward the liberal agenda through so called women’s issues. Interestingly enough I see an article on their front page titled “Bush Administration Doesn’t Care About Ensuring Women’s Equal Pay.” Of course everyone performing the same work should be paid the same, who wouldn’t agree with that? Well apparently Barack Obama doesn’t agree but I don’t see any mention of the fact that he pays women campaign staff members only 78% of what he pays men on their website. It’s right here so feel free to read all about the hypocrisy from these so called women’s rights folks. As you wander around the NOW site and read some of the hard hitting really in-depth thinking that takes place there you finally come upon the real reasons these people can’t stand Palin. Ready? Here ya go.

“In a gubernatorial debate, Palin stated emphatically that her opposition to abortion was so great, so total, that even if her teenage daughter was impregnated by a rapist, she would “choose life” — meaning apparently that she would not permit her daughter to have an abortion. (no source link provided, I guess we just have take her word for it.)

Palin also had to withdraw her appointment of a top public safety commissioner who had been reprimanded for sexual harassment, although Palin had been warned about his background through letters by the sexual harassment complainant.” (Palin pulled the appointment after receiving notification of the person’s past history, shocking indeed. By the way this is a GOOD thing you nitwit.)”

That’s it? This is apparently the whole argument from NOW PAC Chair Kim Gandy in her rant against Palin. However her glowing one sentence endorsement of Joe Biden seems to leave out one very glaring fact.

“Sen. Joe Biden is the VP candidate who appeals to women, with his authorship and championing of landmark domestic violence legislation, support for pay equity, and advocacy for women around the world.” (Sure would have been nice if she presented some examples for review but I digress.)

Can you spot it? It’s plain as day yet painfully absent. I can almost see the angst in Gandy’s face as she typed that. Her chair pushed back from the desk, tapping the keys long arm style using the old chicken peck method with her right hand while pinching her nose with the other, her face almost 180 degrees from the computer monitor. What is missing from that statement is the word….shhhhhhhhh….abortion.

You see Biden is a practicing Catholic and word on the street has it they aren’t real big on snuffing out the life of humans that haven’t even had a chance to have a go at life.

“Q: You have changed your position on abortion. When you came to the Senate, you believed that Roe v. Wade was not correctly decided and that you also believed the right of abortion was not secured by the Constitution. Why did you change your mind?

A: Well, I was 29 years old when I came to the US Senate, and I have learned a lot. Look, I’m a practicing Catholic, and it is the biggest dilemma for me in terms of comporting my religious and cultural views with my political responsibility. (Actually it’s called getting re-elected folks.)

Q: Do you believe that life begins at conception?

A: I am prepared to accept my church’s view. I think it’s a tough one. I have to accept that on faith. That’s why the late-term abortion ban, where there’s clearly viability.

Biden scores 36% by NARAL on pro-choice voting record

“For over thirty years, NARAL Pro-Choice America has been the political arm of the pro-choice movement and a strong advocate of reproductive freedom and choice. NARAL Pro-Choice America’s mission is to protect and preserve the right to choose while promoting policies and programs that improve women’s health and make abortion less necessary. NARAL Pro-Choice America works to educate Americans and officeholders about reproductive rights and health issues and elect pro-choice candidates at all levels of government. The NARAL ratings are based on the votes the organization considered most important; the numbers reflect the percentage of time the representative voted the organization’s preferred position.”

This would be a good batting average in baseball but a 36% head nod from a leading abortion advocacy group must be leaving some of those over at NOW shaking their heads and swallowing deeply. Biden is hardly the champion of abortion that the liberals would like to have in place for this election and if he was to be candid, if it wasn’t politically expedient for him to deny it and based on his admitted religious beliefs, he and Palin would probably be pretty much on the same page with this issue.

So again I ask what is it with these goofy liberals when it comes to Governor Palin? I mean you have a bunch of nutball women in New York ready to hurl themselves out of windows (presumably ground floor windows so they have little chance of breaking a nail) and gals on the left coast prepared to commit hari-kari with their cocktail toothpicks over the possibility of Mrs. Palin becoming vice president, hardly a traditional hands on policy making role, notwithstanding the Democrats claiming otherwise when it comes to Dick Cheney.

The nasty attacks from liberal women such as calling her a: “Christian Stepford Wife”, “Republican blow-up doll” and claiming: “her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman”, “her primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion”, “she shares nothing but a chromosome with Hillary Clinton” (I prefer to keep it PG-13 here for now) etc. seem out of place to me. I mean this is a historical event, the first woman to be selected as the Republican vice presidential nominee ever should be cause for celebration for women all over the country regardless of political affiliation. Does anyone recall any type of similar response from conservatives when Hillary Clinton was running for president? Anything? Anti-Hillary websites that spread vicious rumors? Fox News interviews where she was set up for a gotcha moment? Massive smear campaigns from women’s organizations? Anything? Didn’t think so.

Mrs. Clinton would be nothing, not a blip on the radar screen had she not rode the shoulders (she had to be “up there” because William was awfully busy with other women “down there”) of her husband, Bill Clinton, to her senate seat in New York. Without him she is a nobody, never heard from, an unknown. Yet Sarah Palin graciously offers respect to this woman even though an intellectually honest evaluation would reveal the fairly limited impact Mrs. Clinton has had on this country, other than a string of infamous scandals that is. Feminists hold Clinton up as some kind of role model, a heroine of sorts, but what exactly has she done? I don’t want to hear the old saw “she strongly supports women’s rights”, big deal…what has she DONE? Should people be elected to PUBLIC office just to pursue a limited agenda for one group of people or should they be spending their days attending to the business of everyone in their constituency?

Sarah Palin is a self made woman. Neither of her parents were politicians, no free ride there like Nancy Pelosi. She didn’t ride anyone’s coattails into office like Hillary Clinton. She didn’t pursue any endorsements from women’s groups. There were no cries for government help with the children her and her husband brought into this world. Her strong faith and belief in family and small town community has served her well. Her husband didn’t push nor drag her into politics, he just did what all good men do…had her back when she decided to try and make a real difference in the lives of those she cared about, her friends, neighbors and fellow citizens of Alaska. From small town council member to mayor and eventually Governor of one of the most important states in the union she kept plugging away without the bitterness and anger that seems to envelope the liberal women in this country. Her love, affection and respect of our country and the management of it’s resources is truly beyond the pay grade of any liberal politician roaming the halls of Congress. Although a virtual unknown to the rest of the country Palin made quite the name for herself in Alaska battling the old boys network and slicing through the thick fog of state politics to actually accomplish something in her two short years as the state CEO. She wakes up every morning sporting an approval rating that is nearly 70% higher than the clowns running Congress yet her detractors claim she is inexperienced and not up to the task of vice president. Jam a sock in it you losers….eh?

The radical, nearly terroristic assaults on Sarah Palin and her family, especially by the rabid-spitting-frothing-at-the-mouth left wing women, has actually accomplished much more than could ever be expected or hoped for. Conservatives owe a debt of gratitude to the liberal media which has exposed these lunatics for what they really are without even knowing or realizing it. (How ya doing Chris Matthews? Keith Olbermann?) It has really been a gas watching the hand wringing, the tooth gnashing, the crocodile tears and the red faced anger from the left. With everything literally blowing up in their faces these idiots continue down the losing path seething with misplaced fury. This tunnel vision approach has hurt Barack Obama more than anything the John McCain camp could have chucked at him. The implicit wink and a nod to these whacks was ill advised Obama, trust me.

Straight up honesty will reveal that the real fear from those on the left is a solid 12 years of hearing Palin’s name in the news. She is the antithesis of everything the liberals hold dear, government irrevocably enmeshed in the lives of all women from cradle to grave, that men are nothing more than an occasional useful idiot and choking the life out of the result of a drunken one night stand ain’t no biggie. Twelve years of Palin leading the charge, breaking down the barriers, and laying down a six lane wide freeway for more conservative (read mainstream) women to come on board without fear of the now defanged media has the old left wing grey haired battleaxes trembling in their tie dyed tee shirts and flip flops. The continuing irrelevancy of the “liberal woman” movement that started running out of gas long ago will become even more isolated on the fringe with the results of this election’s hypocrisy one way or the other. It’s gonna be a fun month and a half folks.
