We’ve all done it. We’re standing in the grocery store check-out line waiting for that knucklehead that just started writing their check after everything has been bagged up and carted. We deliberately look for a distraction so as to prevent us from blowing a gasket at this Obama voting nitwit who now can’t seem find a working pen.
Your eyes are drawn to the blaring headline on the cover of some smarmy magazine conveniently located in a rack just a foot away from your face. Let’s see, some old fat guy has been sucked right out of his soybean field while harvesting his crop and taken away in a spaceship. Naw. How about an expose concerning Madonna and why she is now down to all of 74 pounds these days? Barf. Lindsay Lohan arrested again, Britney Spears goes back to rehab, Oprah cries a river over some Obama speech AND loses 40 pounds in the process…nope, all same old same old.
Wait, what is this? US Weekly magazine has this eye catching picture of the Republican vice presidential candidate on the cover holding a newborn baby. Man is she a looker, hard to believe she has had five kids! But something seems rather ominous about this cover and as you get a little closer you see the caption “Babies, Lies and Scandal”.
Ok, we know this kind of mind numbing waste of natural resources (our precious trees) appeals mainly to women, some of whom, and we all know this, like to read up on the “dirty stuff” dug up on anybody in the news. What a perfect platform. A magazine dedicated to women and a false, misleading headline! Wow, anything to make a buck even if it means throwing someone who is part of the main demographic you are selling your magazine to directly under the buses’ front wheels. What ever happened to women coming together as one, sticking up for each other when faced with this kind of character assassination? Where is the outrage from the feminists, the National Organization for Women (NOW) gang? Who are we kidding, this a group that could not care less about a woman unless she is a far left leaning whack job. Proof? Look at the beating Hillary Clinton took. Anybody hear a peep from the NOW hags? Nope, they were told to keep their mouths shut so the “selected one ” Obama could get the nod.
Now back to this US Weekly magazine and their shameful and frankly embarrassingly transparent effort to not only smear Governor Palin but make Obama looking like just the perfect husband and family man. Awwww, how cute. Check it out.
No bias there huh US Weekly?
Let’s take a quick look at Time Magazine. You know, the one that put Obama’s mug on the front cover a total of seven times this year to all of two for John McCain.
No bias there huh Time Magazine?
Gee, it seems just yesterday that magazines were putting Jamie Spears on their covers to show how wonderful it was to be a mommy at seventeen.
